At least two members of parliament have referred themselves to the independent parliamentary expenses authority for an audit as scrutiny grows into politician's use of travel expenses. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he has formally requested advice from the authority over travel expense entitlements.

00:09Authority. I've said that publicly and I've asked for that advice from IPA. It's important
00:19that as parliamentarians we're not sort of deciding things for ourselves because that
00:26would bring obvious criticism. I've seen some of the commentary that seems to ignore that.
00:36And that's why my government, what we do is we do things in an orderly way. I've asked
00:42IPA for advice. At least two members of parliament have referred themselves for the details of
00:51their audit. But in addition to that, I've said to IPA, please give us some advice and
01:00we'll take that on board. And when that advice is received, we'll make a decision in the usual
01:09way. But it's important to get that advice.
