Milestone has officially announced a release date for the return of its most iconic IP, Screamer. The game will launch on March 26, 2026 and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The announcement was made during The Game Awards 2025, where a new story trailer for the game was also revealed.
Inspired by classic JRPG elements, Screamer immerses players in an illegal street racing tournament where five rival teams compete with no holds barred. Each team, led by a leader supported by two members, brings its own motives, histories, and secrets to the track. Every participant has something to prove, and through the game’s campaign, it will be possible to explore all the intertwined narratives by playing the whole cast of characters.
Set in a dystopic universe dripping with anime aesthetics and futuristic vibes, the story will unfold through over 30 minutes of anime-style cutscenes produced by Polygon Pictures, one of the oldest and most renowned Japanese animation studios. An international voice cast, featuring internationally acclaimed actors Troy Baker and Aleks Le as two of the main characters, will further enhance the cinematic experience. Charged with tension and atmosphere, Screamer's narrative trailer sets the tone for what’s to come: a fresh experience set to redefine what players can expect from arcade racing.
Beyond its narrative core, Screamer features innovative gameplay mechanics built around a Twin Stick control system and a seamless blend of racing and fighting actions. The Echo System, a unique feature that connects the narrative to the gameplay, allows players to generate and use Sync and Entropy, the two resources that fuel attack and defensive actions. With only a few months until the game launches on all major consoles, Screamer is now available for pre-order.
