00:00Trump ripped for reprehensible comments about Ukraine.
00:04President Donald Trump is once again suggesting that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky
00:08has been ungrateful amid negotiations to end the Ukraine-Russia war.
00:13Representative Don Bacon slammed the remarks, calling Trump's shift in tone reprehensible.
00:18Trump recently echoed language from his February Oval Office meeting with Zelensky.
00:23CNN's Jim Souto asked the retired Air Force general,
00:26Are you confident that the president ultimately lands on Ukraine's side here?
00:31In his latest comments, Trump again suggested that Ukraine has been ungrateful for U.S. aid
00:35and has little leverage in the situation.
00:38Zelensky quickly responded on social media, thanking the U.S. for its support.
00:43We are grateful for everything that America and President Trump are doing for security,
00:47and we keep working as constructively as possible, he said.
00:51Bacon criticized the president's remarks, calling them reprehensible.
00:54The people of Ukraine are grateful for our help, Bacon insisted.
00:59That's why I think the House and the Senate need to take the lead here, he said.
01:03Bacon urged Congress to take charge of Ukraine negotiations.
01:07He responded to a post from Vice President J.D. Vance,
01:10who noted that the Beltway GOP is frustrated that the Trump administration
01:14may finally bring a four-year conflict in Eastern Europe to a close.
01:18Bacon replied,
01:19Many of us are Reagan fans.
01:21We hate appeasing Putin's Russia and throwing Ukraine.
01:23Who wants freedom and independence under Putin's bus?
01:26The Thursday 28-point surrender plan was disgusting.
01:30In a follow-up post, Bacon added,
01:32Congress must be proactive on Ukraine.
01:35The 28-point peace plan the administration proposed would have been disastrous to our nation's honor
01:39and undermined European and our national security.
01:43We cannot sit on the sidelines any longer.
01:45Tiffred Dunt.
01:46We'll try to trade more.
