00:00Hello, guys. How are you? First of all, it's such a pleasure being here.
00:03Oh, no, thanks for having us, mate.
00:05That's great. Well, first of all, congratulations, because you don't know, guys, how much I love this show.
00:11So it's great. It's amazing.
00:13Oh, thank you.
00:14Well, I would like to start with you, Darcy, because I want to ask you about Alice,
00:20about all these changes that are going on within the 40 Elephants,
00:24which anybody who has read their story would mostly know where this is going.
00:30But there are some changes, so without spoiling it, how is it going to affect her?
00:35Which role will she play in this one?
00:39She's taking a step up, and she's becoming like Mary's right-hand man kind of thing.
00:45So I think in this series, you really see that her and Mary have a lot of similarities,
00:51and Mary sees qualities in Alice that she thinks would make a really good, trustworthy person to have on her side.
01:00And they work together quite well.
01:03So I think, you know, for this series, that's where that story's kind of going,
01:07as she's really taking a step up within the gang.
01:10Yeah, that's great.
01:11Yeah.
01:12And in your case, James, I would like to ask you about your character,
01:16because he goes in almost a hell of a right in this season.
01:19So I want to ask you about how is it to prepare yourself emotionally, mentally,
01:24for this hell that he's suffering in this second season, especially?
01:29I said before, I have no idea.
01:32I just, you know, rock up to work.
01:35Half of the work is done for you when you're putting those amazing costumes on,
01:40you're working with incredible actors, directors, writers.
01:43I said, you know, the majority of the work's done for you.
01:45You just have to turn up and tell the truth, isn't it?
01:48That's the job of an actor.
01:52That's a good answer, actually.
01:53That's a realistic one.
01:56How is it, talking about that, how is it working with a mind like Stephen Knight's mind?
02:01Because his characters are amazing, his story developing is amazing.
02:08How is it working with a man like him?
02:11Yeah, I mean, there's so much scope in what he creates.
02:15Like, there's not, like, loads of restriction on where you could go with the character.
02:19You can kind of bring your own spin to it as well.
02:22But, I mean, he takes real people and he makes them characters, which is the most interesting
02:28because you've got, like, a wealth of information and, you know, sources that you can pull from
02:33to kind of, like, that inspire the characters themselves.
02:36So, it's not too hard, is it, to try and pull from, like, references and stuff
02:41and, like, think about, you know, what was kind of happening at that time
02:44and what the people were going through.
02:46Yeah.
02:47That's good, that's good.
02:48And in this season, I've, well, in this series, actually, because it also happened in the first season,
02:53like, almost every character is fighting, not only physically, but his own or her own inner battles.
03:02So, I would like to ask you, what are your characters fighting for in this second season, especially?
03:08Well, I think Trickell is battling with himself more than anything.
03:14He's very lost, broken, everything he's known.
03:18All his life, you know, his big brother protecting him.
03:21That all disappears and he's got to find his own identity now, away from that.
03:25So, I'd say that's his biggest fight in season two.
03:28Yeah.
03:30I think, yeah, Alice's biggest fight is kind of found in a place within the gang
03:37and proving herself to Mary.
03:38That's probably a big fight, yeah.
03:41And that's all that we can say, I guess.
03:43Yeah.
03:45And I want to ask you about something that I always love to ask actors.
03:50How this series has changed your life?
03:52Because now we are in a second season.
03:55Of course, in first season, you learn things, but how has it changed your life, your careers,
03:59your way of acting?
04:01What have you learned about it?
04:02I think the best thing about this job was all the people that I met on it.
04:08So, like, I think that was the thing that has really kind of affected my life moving forward
04:13is the friends and, you know, experiences that I had filming it
04:18and also that I took from there.
04:21That's been the best bit about it.
04:23And, you know, getting to work with amazing people like Stephen Knight, Steve Graham, Hannah, Aaron.
04:28I mean, Malachi, you're spoiled, aren't you?
04:30Completely spoiled.
04:32Yeah.
04:32Yeah.
04:33That's great.
04:34I'd have to agree with Darcy on every way she just said there.
04:38Okay, okay.
04:40So, one final question because I only have one minute.
04:43Can fans, after this finale, which we are not going to spoil,
04:47can fans expect a third season?
04:49Or do you guys think that this is, like, a great ending and it could stop here?
04:55I think who knows.
04:57I mean, we'll see when Series 2 comes out.
05:00We've all got our fingers crossed that we'll see the characters again.
05:02But, you know, I think it's in the hands of fate kind of thing.
05:06Yeah, we'll see.
05:07I mean, I'd certainly love to come back to it.
05:09I feel like it's, you know, a lot of stories are unfinished, I think.
05:14And there's a lot more to go.
05:16There's so much more scope.
05:17Yeah.
05:18Yeah.
05:19Yeah.
05:19Totally, totally.
