00:00I would like to start by asking you about the multiverse
00:03because 15 years ago it wasn't that common
00:06but nowadays it's like everywhere
00:07so this is still a very intriguing season
00:11so what's the key to stay fresh in such a usual topic now?
00:16Well I think what I loved about Dark Matter when I read the book
00:21was it felt like, you know, and I said this to a friend at the time
00:25I was like, this is like the multiverse for the middle-aged man
00:27it's not superheroes or monsters sort of accessing alternate realities
00:35it's just like a regular Chicagoan family
00:38who find themselves with access to this technology
00:42and even though Jason is a physician, he's still, I'm sorry, physicist
00:46he's relatively still a normal suburban man
00:51and I thought it was a chance to sort of examine these ideas
00:55of the road not taken and gratitude and regret in very human terms
01:02and also how these things impact relationships
01:06and the question of destiny and why you're with the person that you're with
01:12and I found that more special on a human level
01:16That's very cool
01:18In this season there are even more Jasons, even more Danielas
01:21for you guys, when you are on set together, is it difficult to know which is the version you are
01:27talking to?
01:29Not really, just because of the, you know, the story
01:34you know where you are in the story
01:35and actually I have less of it in this season than I did in season one
01:41mostly with Daniella, sort of Daniella one as we so creatively called her
01:48in this, and with Jason one, you know
01:52and we spend more time, which is different in this season than it was in season one
01:56and I really liked that
01:58I liked having, being able to sort of go a little deeper into the marriage
02:01and what all of this madness has done to the marriage
02:04and, you know, as they try and, as they're sort of getting torn apart
02:08and trying to figure out how to stay together
02:10I remember there's been a couple of moments in both seasons
02:15where I get to, as Jason, see Daniella
02:18a different version of her who's not familiar with me
02:23or has a different kind of relationship than a marriage with me
02:27and I enjoyed those scenes
02:29because watching Jennifer kind of look at me like she's never seen me before
02:34it was kind of fun
02:35and there's also a version of us as a couple that we meet in season two
02:39that haven't been through the loss of a child
02:42and we're kind of just this happy, very annoying
02:48very annoying couple
02:49very self-centered couple
02:51and that was fun, you know
02:52like sometimes it creates a sense of fun, I think
02:56that sounds cool
02:57in the first few episodes, I didn't remember which one
03:00it said that advanced technology of us is inevitable
03:04do you guys feel that this is real
03:06especially nowadays with artificial intelligence and all that?
03:10yes, yes
03:11no one actually knocked on my door and said
03:13hey, we're going to like put AI everywhere you go
03:16and I do feel like there's a weird
03:21I don't know, where are the checks and balances
03:23to say, hey, is everyone cool with this?
03:27you know, I think that's the history of technology
03:29it's like, this is all going to be great
03:31here you go, say thank you to us
03:33and you're like, why don't I if we could say thank you to you
03:36because we don't know what's going to happen next
03:39so yeah, I think this is very much a kind of a
03:43you know, feels very relevant to what's going on right now
03:48now I want to, I have a minute
03:50so I would like to ask you
03:51in a multiverse reality, in a maternative reality
03:53which movie from your partner would you like to have in part of?
03:58oh, that's so hard
03:59that's such a hard question
04:01I'd like to see a thing
04:02barkeep in Top Gun
04:04oh, nice
04:06like if I worked for you and you were just yelling at me
04:09just going, you haven't cleaned up table five
04:11and I'm like, sorry, sorry, sorry
04:14I've been in, I would be in Labyrinth
04:16I'd duck into
04:17Train Dreams, Warrior
04:19yeah, you want to come in, yeah
04:20yeah, yeah, Warrior
04:21I could be in Warrior, maybe
04:22that would be amazing
04:26intersecting universes
04:26that would be cool
04:28that would be amazing
04:29well guys, I have to wrap up
04:30I just want to say
04:31it's been a pleasure
04:32and again, congratulations
04:33because the show is amazing
04:35I really liked it
04:36thank you
04:36thank you very much
