00:00The Wolverines right now are playing maybe their best basketball in years, Mike, it would appear.
00:04I didn't realize that they're just blowing everybody out.
00:06Last night it was Villanova, 89-61.
00:10Elliott Caddo had 18 points in this one and also four three-pointers in this game.
00:15So what has made Michigan so much better, Mike, this year than last?
00:18You'll have to clue us in.
00:20Well, the first thing is that they brought in some fantastic talent as transfers.
00:25And the most important one and the most obvious one is Yexo Lannenborg.
00:29He's a first-team All-American at this point, playing with great physical power.
00:34And because he is so skilled and so gifted at his size, 6'9", probably 250, with a true power forward body for college basketball,
00:46they're able to play him as a small forward.
00:50And then you've got Moraes Johnson as a true low-post type power forward, a guy who wants to be around the goal.
00:58And then they brought in Adai Mora from UCLA.
01:02And Mora is a 7'3 guy who's really nimble, great hands, great passing ability, terrific shot blocker.
01:09They've got a huge front line that's really hard for a lot of teams to cope with.
01:13What we need to see, ultimately, is what happens when they play a team with a dynamic three-guard offense,
01:22somebody that has a sort of like Florida was a year ago, when you've got three guards who are really dynamic
01:29and can take the ball to the rim and can shoot from deep.
01:33If facing someone like that would be the challenge for Lannenborg, how does he defend in that circumstance?
01:39And that's really what we haven't seen yet, and ultimately probably will when they get into the heart of their Big Ten schedule.
01:46What's interesting, though, Craig, is that that heart doesn't come until late January, early February.
01:52They play very good opposition in January in the Big Ten, but not elite.
01:57That doesn't come until they play Michigan State on January 30th.
