00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD, warns four-piece beneficiaries against fake news claiming of a Christmas bonus payout for them.

00:09In a statement, DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlau said that they have received reports of social media posts regarding this, which she strongly denied.

00:19The official added that this could be a mechanism used by online scammers to obtain the private information of beneficiaries.

00:26Dumlau reminds beneficiaries not to rashly click on links and not to repost the sub-posts to prevent confusion.

00:33The DSWD assure the department does not post beneficiaries' details in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
