00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD, has assured continued support for beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilya Filipino Program, or 4Ps.
00:09More than 4 million households currently receive monthly government assistance, including 750 pesos for health subsidies, 600 pesos for rice, and 300 to 700 pesos in educational allowances for children.
00:23These efforts are part of the government's broader strategy to alleviate poverty and reduce hunger nationwide.
00:30According to the latest survey by Social Weather Stations, or SWS, around 14.4 million Filipinos identified themselves as poor in March.
00:40This is an increase compared to January and February figures.
00:44The hunger rate also climbed to 27.2 percent in March, up from 21.2 percent the previous month.
00:50Despite these challenges, the DSWD remains hopeful that living conditions will improve starting April and in the months ahead.
00:58To date, over 700,000 families have successfully exited the 4Piece Program after improving their standard of living.
