Institutionalization of telepsychiatry for OFWs pushed  The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) pushes for the institutionalization of telepsychiatry for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). During the 4th Talakayang Heartbeat—DOST-PCHRD’s platform that showcases its projects—Dr. Maria Angelica Plata, the lead researcher behind the 'Advocating National Discourse to Integrate Telepsychiatry in Policies and Programs for Overseas Filipinos' (ANDITO), told The Manila Times that despite having better healthcare programs abroad, the need for OFWs to seek help from a Filipino psychiatrist is important. 00:23Or lalo na if yung mga employer disputes po. So gusto mong may kakampi ka, yun lang naman talaga yung mga OFWs.

00:28Gusto kang may kakampi ka, may mapagsabihan ka in your own language, in your own dialect ba nga eh.

00:33Kasi yung mga psikatrist namin is, marami rin siyang nalalamang dialect.

00:37Like, ilonggo, ilonggo. Tapos, he can also, yung sa musliman language, yung ganun po.

00:46So iba talaga pag we can express in our own dialect.

00:51So makikita mo from their faces na, ano sila mas, na e-express nila, mas magaan yung kalooban nila right after.

00:59Kasi nga, this is the Middle East eh, kahit English pa yung pag-uusapan nila, iba pa rin yung pag-salita nila ng English.

01:07So they cannot properly express themselves or be understood.

01:12So napaka-importanting, Pilipino na psikiatrist po yung sa tele-psychiatry, for all the ways.
