00:00Squid Game has made history by being the most watched series of all time on Netflix,

00:05and it's made Netflix history in only 28 days with already 111 million views.

00:10But this doesn't really come as a shock to fans, because Squid Game has become a worldwide phenomenon.

00:15Fans can't get enough of the story, games, and characters.

00:19And with the crazy way Season 1 ended, the biggest question on all our minds is,

00:24will there be a Squid Game Season 2?

00:26Sadly, Netflix has yet to announce the renewal of Squid Game for Season 2.

00:31However, considering that it's the most watched series in Netflix history,

00:36we're almost certain that Squid Game Season 2 will be confirmed soon,

00:40pending that Season 1 also left a lot of room in the story for Season 2.

00:44The writer and director, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has said that Squid Game Season 1 took him 13 years to write,

00:50and it took a lot out of him.

00:52He said that he isn't planning to jump straight into Season 2,

00:55and that he doesn't have well-developed plans for it.

00:58However, he also said that if he were to do it, he wouldn't do it alone.

01:02He would want to use a writer's room and multiple experienced directors.

01:06He's acknowledged that there's a huge pressure on him with everyone waiting on Season 2.

01:10And although he's unsure of what to do, he said that the love and support from fans

01:14are giving him inspiration and ideas for a potential Season 2.

01:19If Squid Game is renewed, you're probably wondering who would be back from the cast.

01:23Of course, Lee Jung-jae would be back as Ki-hun.

01:26But as for the rest of the cast, there's a few possibilities.

01:29Lee Byung-hun would likely reprise his role as the frontman,

01:33and there's also a good chance that Wee Ha Jin would come back as Jun-ho,

01:37because we didn't see his body after he was shot.

01:40As for your favorite characters like Jung-ha-ya na Se-byeok,

01:43Anna-bum-chipat-thea's Ali, and Park-hae-soo's Sang-woo,

01:47their characters are for sure dead.

01:49However, their stardom and popularity is rising,

01:52so maybe they'd make appearances in flashbacks.

01:55Season 1 ended with Gi-hun winning the games,

01:57and eventually finding out that Il-nam is the creator of the games.

02:01He then decides to fly to America to see his daughter,

02:04but he sees someone playing Dak-ji with the man in the suit, which sparks his drama.

02:08And instead of boarding the flight to see his daughter,

02:10he decides that he wants to end the games once and for all.

02:13The writer and director has said that for Season 2,

02:16we're gonna see how Gi-hun tries to figure out who the people designing the games are,

02:20and how he's gonna end it.

02:22But he's also said that he wants to go into what's going on between the two brothers,

02:26and the story of the recruiter in the suit, who plays Dak-ji with Gi-hun.

02:30Now you're probably wondering when Season 2 will release once it's renewed.

02:34Well, Season 1 was first announced in 2019,

02:37and because the writer and director is unsure about Season 2,

02:41if it were renewed, we'd probably see it sometime around 2023.

02:45Until then, we can keep rewatching Squid Game Season 1,

02:48and figuring out theories on what could happen in Season 2.
