00:00Hello everybody, Luke back once again, this time to dive into everything we know about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game.

00:06Yes, it's been 30 years since we've had a good game solely dedicated to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

00:13We're finally getting one.

00:14First of all, hey, sorry I've been gone for a little while, had a hip surgery,

00:18and it's been a slower than expected recovery from that hip surgery,

00:21but I'm back and excited to get back to regular releases of videos covering the world of video games.

00:27This time we're diving into one of the most classic horror movies ever made,

00:31with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre coming to a game.

00:35Now, there's already been one game dedicated solely to this movie,

00:39but it was released back in 1983 on the Atari 2600.

00:43But it was a pretty groundbreaking game for the time and created a lot of controversy

00:49because of the content in the game, which led to lower than expected sales,

00:53and many people have stayed away from making a movie based on it ever since.

00:58Leatherface has appeared in other games like Motor Combat, if you know where to look,

01:02but this is going to be the first dedicated Texas Chainsaw Massacre game since 1983.

01:09Now, fans will finally have a current generation game for their much beloved movie.

01:47Everything we know about this game.

01:49Now, the good news here is this is coming from Gun Interactive,

01:53a gaming studio out there that's best known, I think, for their hit Friday the 13th,

01:58The Game, which was a very well-received horror game

02:02based on the horror franchise Friday the 13th,

02:04where you get to play as either Jason or the camp counselors trying to escape.

02:10It was very well-received, very popular.

02:13Now, they are getting the rights to do Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Leatherface.

02:18Now, how it works out, we'll have to wait and see.

02:21And if they're known for some other movies or other games based on movies,

02:28Now, the good news here is Kane Hoarder,

02:31hope I'm saying that name right, I apologize if I'm not,

02:33will be voicing the iconic Leatherface.

02:35Now, he's best known as playing Jason on several versions of Friday the 13th,

02:39and he did the voice work for the Friday the 13th, The Game, out there.

02:44Now, he's no stranger to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

02:47He was a stuntman in the 1990s sequel,

02:50Leatherface, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3,

02:53which is a love-it-or-hate-it kind of movie.

02:57I'd love to know what you think of it.

02:59Details are thin, but it does look like we have a good studio

03:02with a good track record and a big-name voice actor coming on to the project.

03:08Now, according to rumors, the game will be a lot similar,

03:11or a lot alike, very similar to the Friday the 13th, The Game, out there,

03:15with the idea that we'll focus heavily on multiplayer,

03:17where you'll play either as people trying to escape Leatherface,

03:21or you play as Leatherface trying to track people down.

03:24You get points or win either by escaping

03:26or by tracking everybody down and killing as many, if not all, all the people.

03:31We'll have to wait a little bit more until we can get some more details,

03:35because it's very thin.

03:36They're really not talking much about it.

03:38There are rumors that there could be a story mode with this a little bit,

03:43but it could also be more like Friday the 13th, The Game,

03:46which very much heavily focused on the idea that you were just playing a multiplayer game

03:51where one person was Jason and the rest were the counselors.

03:55We'll have to wait and see.

03:56Now, no official release date has been announced,

03:58but Corner reports 2022 is the target release date.

04:03The game is far enough along that they expect it to be successfully released in 2022,

04:08unless something unexpected happens, which could happen.

04:12Good news and bad news on platform support, though.

04:15The game has been confirmed for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and S.

04:20Unfortunately, no word for PS4 or Xbox One support.

04:24I think it would be a real shame if that doesn't happen,

04:27though maybe by the time this game comes out,

04:30PS5 and Xbox X slash S availability will be greater,

04:35and we won't be fighting over them desperate in time to get it for the holiday season.

04:39We'll have to wait and see.

04:41There's everything that's been confirmed and credibly rumored about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
