00:10A 19-year-old XXXTentacion has taken the hip-hop world by storm.
00:15His freshman album Seventeen debuted at number two on the Billboard charts as fans embraced
00:20his distorted sound and violent lyrics.
00:23But apparently behind these lyrics are something very real.
00:26The rapper, whose real name is Jase Onfroy, has been charged with aggravated battery of
00:31his pregnant girlfriend, false imprisonment, and witness tampering.
00:35A woman who seems to be X's ex-girlfriend testified in court documents obtained by Pitchfork about
00:41a pattern of abuse where she was regularly beaten, slapped, stomped, and strangled to the
00:47point of unconsciousness.
00:48The unnamed woman who began living with the rapper in 2016 says X would grow jealous over
00:53crazy small things like her singing along to someone else's verse on his song and would
00:59threaten to kill her and beat her mercilessly.
01:01After one such incident, he came at her with a barbecue cleaner and pitchfork and forced
01:06her to pick which object she would be raped with.
01:09She chose the fork and then passed out from fear as X was rubbing a sharp tool on her inner
01:14thigh.
01:15In 2016, the woman also allegedly became pregnant with X's child.
01:19X threatened to kill her and the child and then allegedly beat her to a pulp and was holding
01:23her captive in an apartment in Miami so police could not see her injuries.
01:27X was reportedly distracted skyping and playing Minecraft when she snuck out a side door and
01:33finally escaped.
01:34XXXTentacion is also currently serving a six year probation stint for an armed home invasion
01:40in 2015.
01:41If convicted of these new charges, he could face a very long prison sentence.
