00:34very jarring about last night's loss to the Houston Texans Joe is it wasn't surprising I mean the
00:42almost finality of it as Kansas City now has seen the market move against them considerably when
00:48we're talking to miss the playoffs Joe they're minus 600 that that is surprising but oh Kansas City
00:55couldn't score with their season on the line you're not all too stunned them getting dropped
01:00by the Texans you're not all too stunned specifically to last night what went wrong for the Kansas City
01:07Chiefs a team that closed in some spots four and a half point favorite in that game yeah absolutely
01:12I think it was the game plan to begin with we talk about Andy Reid being complacent being conservative

01:29that ultimately allowed Houston to get the lead and really you know take control of that game but early
01:35on Kevin we broke down the game and we had said this is an opportunity for Pat Mahomes to challenge
01:41that defense over the top to utilize Xavier Worthy to utilize Marquise Brown to have the underneath routes
01:48to Travis Kelsey it was it was non-existent for the most part they didn't get into any type of
01:54offensive continuity now part of that was how good Houston's defense is but the other part as well
02:00is the play calling by Andy Reid they have no offensive identity think about the start of the year
02:06when he was chucking for 300 yards per green three touchdowns oh this is the offense that we had
02:12two and three years ago the old Pat Mahomes where was that last night so I and we're going to unpack
02:17some of that but you mentioned the Andy Reid decision making and I think last night what you saw
02:22a team who entered the game with minimal margin for error when we talk about making the postseason
02:27burn their in-game margin for error with inconsistent decisions they come out opening drive touchdown
02:34and mind you they had to be aggressive on that a fourth and one at the two so they could add a first down
02:41but you're expecting touchdown or bust they hand the ball off to Kareem Hunt they think you know what
02:45this is what's worked for us all year long we need a yard he gets a yard rarely two sometimes definitely
02:51not three right the next drive fourth and four at their own 44 punt you should be running on third down
02:59and setting yourself up for a fourth and short go situation but that punt was then followed by another
03:06Kansas City drive we're on a fourth and two at the Texans 18 yard line they kick a field goal
03:11and what you start to notice is Andy is going against what the analytics will tell him right

03:52didn't get it on the fourth and one he did the exact same thing on that fourth and four when the game
03:57was 17 nothing Andy Reid looked again I know he's a first battle hall of famer but he was exposed last

04:12played that like a playoff game and then when he realized he but like a first year playoff you know
04:16what I mean like oh he's never been in a moment like this second or like at that aging champ he could
04:21see the punches coming but he can't get out of the way it's the same type of mentality Andy Reid knew what
04:26he had with his offense and has the best potential quarterback in the NFL and Pat Mahomes and he
04:31didn't utilize him or believe in the offense enough to roll the dice in critical matchups
