00:00There was a team who went to this late 5-5.
00:03Had to have it, or it was going to feel like curtains on the season.
00:08And a lead that was Indy's the entire way,
00:14as the game went on, never felt like enough.
00:19It was 20-9 entering the fourth quarter for the Colts,
00:23and yet the Chiefs move up from 5-5 to 6-5.
00:27They find themselves now, I don't even want to say with breathing room,
00:33but at least capable of taking a deep breath.
00:36I don't think it is full-on panic anymore in Kansas City.
00:40The defending, defending, defending, defending AFC champion
00:43is a group now that has to feel good coming off of this victory in overtime.
00:50How do you feel about their performance yesterday?
00:52Well, again, I mean, they had to have the game, and they got it, right?
00:55And when the game was on the line, the defense stepped up, made plays,
00:58and Pat Mahomes puts up 352 passing yards
01:01and puts his team in a position to steal it.
01:04Now, when you look at the flip side of that with the Colts,
01:07they did have a 20-9 lead in this matchup.
01:11And defensively, we're containing Pat Mahomes in that offense.
01:15They contain, for the most part, Xavier Worthy finishes with 59 yards.
01:20Rasheed Rice does come on in the second half.
01:22That was the big story.
01:24And, again, everything was there for the taking for the Colts to win this game.
01:29They just couldn't close it out.
01:31And that's where you have to credit the AFC champs
01:34and the Kansas City Chiefs for finding a way to pull this game out.
01:39But, again, I still think the weaknesses that we talked about in the pregame
01:43are still there, Kev.
01:45Again, the defense was good.
01:48It wasn't elite, but it made plays when it had to.
01:51And I think the Colts, again, made more mistakes than the Chiefs made great plays
01:57in pulling it out.
01:58So I think that you are right to not feel that this is some ceremonious victory
02:04for Kansas City.
02:06Aha!
02:07They are the best in the league, best in the conference.
02:11Kansas City, we talked about it, had lost two in a row coming into this game.
02:15In the same season, they had not lost three straight with Patrick Mahomes.
02:18They should have won this game and were booked as favorites to do so,
02:22but no cover.
02:23Three and a halves, by the way, were gone.
02:25It closed up to four and a half in some spots.
02:28They didn't spend a second of this game covering that number.
02:33In fact, Kansas City didn't spend any time in this game with the lead.
02:38The field goal goes in, that's game.
02:40They were not leading at any point in this football game,
02:43so I look at it for the Chiefs and I think, look, there's enough pedigree in the room
02:47between Mahomes and Reed and Spagnola and Chris Jones and Travis Kelsey
02:52that they could avoid a three-game losing streak.
02:56But I don't think this is a chest-out type of performance.
03:01I don't view this as, aha, here we go now with Kansas City.
03:07I think there are still flaws within this football team,
03:11and some of that is offensively.
03:14I don't find them to be consistent enough.
03:16I think there are too many areas of the Chiefs' offense that can let them down any given Sunday,
03:23whether that be drops, bad O-line play, they lost Trey Smith in this football game,
03:29an awful run attack, Mahomes turnovers.
03:32And I'm not saying that you see that every game.
03:34What I am saying is I think any of these issues could arise on any given Sunday.
03:39Some popped up here versus the Colts.
03:41I know Mahomes had a gaudy, you know, 352 passing yards.
03:45I don't see the Chiefs as the team to beat.
03:47I don't see the Chiefs as the team to beat.
