02:20Here we are at Vandamere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado.
02:23The track is a quarter mile long nestled in the scenic foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
02:28Because of the track's high altitude, the air is thinner.
02:31Engines depend on the oxygen in the air to mix with fuel for combustion.
02:35So thinner air means power management can be challenging at this track.
02:39Vandamere is famous for its ability to host a whopping 23,500 race fans in its grandstands.
02:46Opened by John Vandamere Sr. in 1958 to provide a safe place for people to learn about cars and race them off the streets.
02:53This track has been a staple in the racing community.
02:56After 65 years, the track is closing at the end of this racing season.
03:00It's an honor to be a part of this great track's legacy.

03:08One of them is going to represent the great state of Colorado.

03:19And then they're here to prove it as they aim to be the last racer standing, earning them $5,000.

04:57so we just made this truck what it is and just put more power to it so it would go faster.

13:23We didn't have the money to hire it out.
13:24I grew up watching the Street Outlaws ever since it came on Discovery Channel.
13:28And I said, one day, I'm going to be on that show.
