00:00The civil rights group Stop Anti-Semitism issued its 2025 report cards on college's handling of anti-Semitism,
00:07with 14 schools flunking the exam, including two New York City universities.
00:13A whopping 39% of Jewish college students have actually resorted to hiding their Jewish identities on campus out of fear,
00:20while 62% said they have been directly blamed for Israel's military action in Gaza,
00:25according to the disturbing new report obtained by The Post.
00:30The report, which grades how 90 colleges address the spreading of hatred against Jews on campuses,
00:35comes as Jewish Ivy League students, like Eden Yadiger,
00:38have repeatedly sounded off about their school's lack of action against anti-Semitism.
00:43We are ostracized, mocked, harassed, assaulted, and scapegoated because of our identities.
00:50The Jews yelled at visibly Jewish friends of mine on multiple separate occasions.
00:55Stop Anti-Semitism's founder, Leora Rez, said in a statement,
01:01Anti-Semitism on American college campuses is systemic and tolerated,
01:05and in many cases enabled by the very institutions tasked with protecting our American kids.
01:11New York City institutions Columbia University and the New School,
01:15which both saw massive anti-Israel protests break out since Hamas' October 7, 2023 terrorist attack,
01:22received an F-grade in the assessment for allowing this culture of, quote,
01:26pervasive anti-Semitism to run rampant.
01:29Several other Ivy League schools also received failing grades,
01:32including Brown University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale.
01:37Other prestigious schools that failed include MIT, Northwestern, and UC Berkeley.
01:43Altogether, 14 out of the 90 schools received a failing grade from Stop Anti-Semitism.
01:49The schools that received F's in the report have become ground zero for anti-Semitism in American higher education, Rez said.
01:57These institutions pride themselves on being moral and intellectually elite,
02:00yet they repeatedly failed to protect Jewish students from harassment, intimidation, hostility, and real violence.
02:08Stop Anti-Semitism's annual report was put together by documenting the volume of anti-Semitic incidents
02:13that occurred at American colleges in 2025.
02:18Earlier this year, much of the drama surrounding Columbia University
02:21came after one of its students, Mahmoud Khalil, was arrested in March,
02:25as Secretary of State Marco Rubio sought to deport him
02:28over his participation in the anti-Israel demonstrations that engulfed the campus,
02:33which the Trump administration claimed posed a threat to U.S. foreign policy interests.
02:38The high-profile arrest caused yet another wave of unrest at the Ivy League school,
02:42with students and teachers alike putting on demonstrations in protest.
02:46We will not take lectures on anti-Semitism from segregationists and neo-Nazis.
02:51It is my honor now to stand before you and call on what remains of the United States government
02:57to do the right thing and free Mahmoud Khalil.
03:01Tangents this year culminated in May as massed anti-Israel protesters went on to occupy
03:06the university's Butler Library and burn diplomas at graduation while chanting,
03:12Free Palestine.
03:12In 2025, Jewish students at Columbia University also saw massed anti-Israel protesters burst into classes
03:20like the history of modern Israel, and once again engage in chaotic clashes with police.
03:26Even so, 2025 was a far cry from the chaos of 2024.
03:31On April 17, 2024, anti-Israel protesters took over the Morningside campus,
03:37erecting dozens of tents on the university's famous lawn.
03:40On April 18, with the backing of the school's administration,
03:44the NYPD pushed in and made mass arrests, but the protesters, undeterred,
03:49once again erected their tents the following day, with the intention of settling in for the long haul.
03:55After the school suspended a number of protesters at the end of April 2024,
03:59demonstrators broke into Hamilton Hall and barricaded themselves inside.
04:03NYPD officers breached the entrance on April 30th.
04:11The cops had to cut, burn, and rip through layers of barricades,
04:14including mountains of chairs, trash cans, metal tables, and chains, in order to reach them.
04:19Two long-time Columbia janitors claim in a lawsuit that they were trapped inside
04:29and assaulted by the Hamilton Hall mob, who called them, quote,
04:33Jew lovers and left them injured, traumatized, and unable to work.
04:37One of the janitors, Mario Torres, said the assault came after months of being forced to erase
04:41so many swastikas on campus that he lost count.
04:45As an African-American man, he found the images deeply distressing.
04:49He reported them to his supervisors, who instructed him to erase the graffiti, his complaint alleges.
04:54The chaos eventually led to the university to hold remote classes,
04:58as the protesters continued to dominate the campus,
05:01and a rabbi warned Jewish students to stay home for their own safety.
05:04As the situation continued to spiral out of control,
05:07the administration announced they would cancel in-person commencement.
05:11The issue extends beyond Columbia University to other schools as well.
05:14In Stop Anti-Semitism's 2025 report, only 15 schools received an A,
05:20including Baylor, Clemson, Elon, and Colorado State University.
05:25The group ultimately called on all schools in the U.S. to follow in the footsteps of the A-rated universities
05:30in condemning hate against Jewish students
05:33and forming a transparent and standard investigation policy against acts of hate.
05:38These schools don't wait for national headlines or external pressures to act.
05:42They set clear standards, enforce them consistently and fairly,
05:46and make it known that anti-Semitism is not tolerated on their campuses, Rez said.
