00:00Talking about quarterbacks, as we know, the MVP award, most valuable player, basically, is a quarterback award at this stage.
00:06And right now, anyway, it's kind of a two-man fight.
00:10You know, all due respect to Josh Allen, the reigning MVP, and what he has done, Jordan Love, certainly, in the conversation.
00:16But the two guys with the best odds by far are Matthew Stafford and Drake May.
00:21And Stafford, we saw him move off of even money yesterday to right around minus 175 with Drake May idle because of his team's bye week.
00:30You know, I just, maybe you can make the case one side or the other.
00:34I look at this, and I try not to do so as a Patriots fan with a Homer outlook, right?
00:38But I look at this, and I say, if Matthew Stafford wins this award, as it sits right now, anything can happen in the next four weeks.
00:45But right now, having this conversation, if he wins this award, it's a career achievement award, more so than it is a one-year, you-deserve-it award,
00:56which I think is a better case for Drake May, given the weapons that Stafford has, the offense, the expectation for that team,
01:04versus this Patriots team that has very little around Drake May and obviously was supposed to win seven or eight games.
01:11All right, so I vote for the Pro Football Runners Association Award, Adam.
01:15That's the second most prestigious award.
01:17AP, NFL, MVP, I get it.
01:19That's the top one.
01:20By the way, it's a regular season award only.
01:21It has nothing to do with the playoffs.
01:24You make a fair point for most improved quarterback, most improved player.
01:27Forget most improved quarterback, most improved player in the National Football League.
01:30Drake May, without a doubt, is my guy.
01:32I absolutely will vote for him.
01:33And Pro Football Runners Association, by the way, their poll is way longer than AP.
01:37But AP is actually recognized in contract incentives.
01:41Like, that stuff matters.
01:42And quarterbacks especially, veteran quarterbacks usually have something for making the pro ball, being an all-pro, AP all-pro, or being an MVP.
01:53So Stafford is my MVP.
01:54By the way, he had a streak of 28 touchdown passes without an interception.
01:58Now, that was until the Carolina game.
02:00Okay, he didn't have a good game there.
02:02So let's – you make also a good point.
02:04Let's see how the final four weeks go.
02:07But – and I vote for two polls.
02:08But, again, the Pro Football Runners is, to me, is the most important of the two.
02:12I would absolutely vote for Matthew Stafford.
02:14And I did not agree last year in the way the vote went for a lot of people in AP because it's a total season award.
02:21It's not one half, okay?
02:24Josh Allen was the better quarterback last year, not Lamar Jackson.
02:27But when you look at this year's situation, Matthew Stafford has been spectacular.
02:32But you make a really good point.
02:34Stephon Diggs has done a nice job this season.
02:36Like, people wanted to come in off the ACL, Adam.
02:38He didn't have anything left.
02:39He clearly does.
02:40They've got a couple journeymen at tight end.
02:43They're not great opposite.
02:44Booty's been a nice story of development.
02:46But they don't have a lot of talent at wide receiver.
02:48And they've done a good job.
02:50Drake May and Josh McDaniels is going to probably be my offensive coach of the year.
02:53The job that he has done to revive his career, by the way, after what happened with the Raiders, spectacular job.
02:59So this is a great discussion.
03:02Stafford's minus 175.
03:03He absolutely would have my vote right now.
