00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're taking a look at 20 incredibly inappropriate moments in video games that are mostly played by kids.
00:16Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to Mojo Plays and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:24Number 20, Pokemon's Greatest Mystery, Pokemon Black and White.
00:30Some trainers you come across will make the usual smack talk, veiled threat, or random factoid about themselves, but one trainer in black and white makes a rather suggestive joke.
00:41When she challenges you, she'll say, quote,
00:43If I'm wearing a bikini, where do I put my pokeballs? Teehee, woman's secret, end quote.
00:50Kids will likely entertain the idea and maybe conclude with some Looney Tunes logic involving mallet space.
00:56As for adults, well, we gotta ask why she's opting for more personal spaces instead of just buying a holster or maybe a belt to hold them.
01:06Number 19, A Personal Jab at Personal Time. Jack 3.
01:19Now drop the cargo!
01:20This is an outrage! I am outraged beyond words!
01:24Although I do have something to say.
01:25Not everyone agrees with this ridiculous...
01:28...dequee!
01:29Yeah! We want a recount!
01:31Say what you will about Jack 3, but as far as punchlines go, this game has some of the best in the trilogy.
01:36Of course, some parents may have been alarmed hearing this bit in their kid's seemingly family-friendly game.
01:43When first meeting Cleaver, he'll brag to Jack and Daxter about how great he is at his little turret game before asking them if they want to try and beat his score.
01:52Daxter quickly interrupts with an embarrassingly stupid innuendo.
01:57Leave it to the Yatzel to make the easiest joke in the moment.
02:00Wanna try to beat me score?
02:02Oh, don't worry. Jack beats things all the time.
02:04Hey, Jack?
02:05Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
02:06Number 18, Pushing the Banana Peel.
02:10Donkey Kong 64.
02:11Nintendo has treated Candy Kong in a very weird manner, similar to how Sony treated Tawna with Crash Bandicoot.
02:27Candy has popped up here and there, but it often feels like Nintendo wants to stay as far away from her as possible.
02:34Perhaps it has something to do with this scene in Donkey Kong 64.
02:37Upon arriving, Candy greets you with some swooning music before talking about how she's gonna make you feel real good.
02:47It doesn't help that she follows this up with, quote,
02:49For just a few little old coins, you can have my musical instruments and my melons too, end quote.
02:57Rare was on some stuff back in 1999. Don't ask too many questions.
03:01Number 17, Overcooked Furball.
03:04Maniac Mansion.
03:07This moment actually caused quite a stir compared to our previous entries.
03:22Back in the days of the NES, it was pretty easy to sneak in inappropriate parts of a game and ship out copies unnoticed.
03:29Though Nintendo remained somewhat strict on their guidelines, LucasArts and Realtime Associates tested the waters to see just how thorough their process was.
03:38The famous exploding hamster portion of Maniac Mansion was left in the NES version,
03:44which manager Douglas Crockford had anticipated,
03:47given past times where Nintendo seemed to contradict their own criteria when it came to censorship.
03:52Once the scene was discovered, Nintendo manufactured a second wave of copies that had the hamster part completely removed.
04:18Gotta keep that squeaky clean image for the families, you know?
04:22Number 16, Two in the Moment.
04:26R. Tonelico, Melody of Alimia.
04:30Yes, the location doesn't matter.
04:33I like this place.
04:35So please, do it here.
04:37This RPG makes its innuendos a little too on the nose for this to go completely unnoticed.
04:45R. Tonelico, Melody of Alimia, features a rather bizarre scene that is just constant innuendo after innuendo.
04:54This entire scene is nothing but referring to inserting a life-extending agent into Aureka's backside
05:01and talking about how painful this three-month-long process is for Aureka.
05:06Though the voice acting sounds somewhat innocent, and also just awful in terms of performance,
05:12this scene feels like we just watched a reenactment of an abysmal sci-fi romance fanfic.
05:18Please, let's just move on before I have to talk about this any further.
05:21Ready?
05:25Wait.
05:28It's better like this.
05:31But your back is...
05:34Aureka?
05:36Insert it into my back.
05:38Like this.
05:40Number 15, Sneaky Dirty Pages.
05:44Secret of Mana.
05:45Now this one is admittedly a bit easy to miss,
05:48especially if you were playing this on a CRT like most of us were back in the 90s.
05:52When you use the spell book, the book will play an animation before showing runes and text glowing,
05:58and sometimes, a cute little face.
06:01But there is a rare chance for the book to show something more...
06:04explicit.
06:05Every so often, you may catch the book accidentally flipping to a page,
06:10showing a naked woman on the beach with a heart on it.
06:13And before you ask, no, it is not in the remake.
06:17Don't go bother looking.
06:18Number 14, Peach's Peachy Toy.
06:22Super Mario RPG, Legend of the Seven Stars.
06:25Of course, the lewdness does not end here.
06:28We're far from done with these kinds of moments.
06:30Shockingly though, Nintendo and Square Enix took part in the cheeky behavior with Super Mario RPG.
06:37While Peach is in the room, intrude and begin rummaging around her bedroom.
06:41Check next to the fireplace to find an item called Peach's...
06:46You will then be scolded by the princess herself and told to put the item back, whatever it was.
06:53We'd say what item we suspect it is, but Big Daddy YouTube wouldn't be super happy with us,
06:59so you're just gonna have to imagine what it is.
07:04Number 13, Baz would be proud.
07:08Crash Twin Sanity.
07:09Crash Twin Sanity definitely has some unhinged jokes for better and for worse.
07:19There are plenty of instances that are hilarious, like when Crash gets the idea to use Cortex for a snowboard.
07:25But then, you have moments like what happens afterwards, midway into said level.
07:31Crash and Cortex manage to make their way into a random nightclub that just so happens to be dead center on the track for some reason,
07:38called Moulin Cortex.
07:41This is a reference to the 2001 musical romance movie, Moulin Rouge, which is known to be a very sexual and very flirtatious movie.
07:49Not exactly a family-friendly film to reference here.
07:52So, uh, can't imagine there was a parent that was super happy about that.
07:56Number 12, Snake Bot's Guilty Pleasure, Astro Bot.
08:09We all know that Astro Bot is supposed to be this massive 3D platformer that celebrates PlayStation history, both first party and third party.
08:17However, not every bot is as innocent and wholesome as our beloved Astro.
08:21When you've saved the Metal Gear Solid version of Snake and unlock his cardboard box, go visit him and give him a little smack.
08:29He'll have different animations for getting him out of the box, but every once in a while, you'll catch him gushing over a magazine featuring a bot in a bikini.
08:39Not so adorable now, are they?
08:41Number 11, Questionable Crossovers.
08:44Fortnite.
08:45Fortnite.
08:51There is no denying that Fortnite has become the ultimate hub for casual fans of pop culture.
08:57Unfortunately, this is something that's been continuing to bug us in recent years.
09:02Fortnite has a player base consisting of all ages, primarily young'uns.
09:06That said, why are we inserting characters from very graphic, very inappropriate IPs like Terrifier, The Witcher, Family Guy, Rick and Morty, and Evil Dead?
09:16As for celebrities, should we really be putting in music artists known for their profane songs like Eminem, Travis Scott, Doja Cat, and Snoop Dogg?
09:27We understand there are adults who play Fortnite, but is it worth exposing kids to these very explicit products when we know their curiosity is going to lead them to this way too early in their lives?
09:39Just food for thought.
09:41Number 10, A Time to Celebrate.
09:44Super Mario Kart.
09:46Though much of the Mario Kart series is nothing but harmless fun, save for the times when somebody rages after getting hit with a blue shell,
09:57there was a time when Mario and company were a little more adult.
10:01Well, at least in Japan.
10:03Both Peach and Bowser's victory animations see them enjoying a bottle of champagne to celebrate their victory.
10:10These animations were removed from the North American release on account of drinking ages in the U.S. and Canada,
10:17as well as Nintendo America's policy on featuring alcohol in their games.
10:21It wasn't family-friendly for Western audiences, so it was removed from the game.
10:26Number 9, The Grumpy Old Man, Pokemon Red and Blue.
10:36When exploring Viridian City, players will find an old man sprawled in the middle of the walkway and are unable to walk past him.
10:49According to his grandson, Grandpa has been grumpy because he hasn't had his coffee yet.
10:54However, the Japanese version tells a different story.
10:57This time, we learn that the old man is completely drunk and needs coffee in order to sober up.
11:03Of course, we can understand why this change was made,
11:06and it was probably for the same reasons why Super Mario Kart had its champagne references removed.
11:17Number 8, The Toad and the Showered, Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga.
11:27The first game in the Mario and Luigi series starts off on a really adult note with its dark intro.
11:34It only gets more adult when the player gains control for the first time.
11:37As Toad, the player must explore Mario and Luigi's house to find our plucky plumber.
11:44It isn't until he approaches the shower when he hears Mario singing.
11:47Instead of, you know, knocking or yelling for Mario outside,
11:53Toad waltzes in on him and freaks out from seeing Mushroom Kingdom's hero in a not-so-heroic situation.
12:00Kids might laugh at Toad being disgusted by Mario's chest hair,
12:04but older players know that Toad was traumatized by something else entirely.
12:09We have yet another regional difference between Japanese and Western versions,
12:25but this time, it's in one of the classic Mario Party games.
12:29In Mario Party 2, players can compete in Western land for the chance to take on the outlaw, Bowser the Brash.
12:36Western audiences saw Bowser and the winner dueling with pop guns and shooting corks at each other.
12:42The Japanese version, on the other hand, had the characters use actual revolvers.
12:47Would Western audiences have liked seeing Mario and the gang literally put a bullet in Bowser?
12:53Probably not then, but today's audience would find it hilarious.
12:58I mean, no, we can't have that.
13:01We must think of the children!
13:06It's time we realized that Kirby isn't the insanely cute and innocent little Puyo that we've been led to believe.
13:25We only need one shred of evidence to prove that notion.
13:28Exhibit A!
13:30Kirby's Dream Land 2!
13:31In the final level of Red Canyon, Kirby will enter a room where the blocks are arranged in a very particular order.
13:38Of course, it doesn't look like much with the Game Boy screen,
13:41but when the room is fully assembled and scaled, it reveals the true pattern.
13:46A smiling, naked lady.
13:48How this got past even Nintendo of America's sensors is beyond us.
13:53Number 5.
13:54A Roll in the Tub
13:55Mega Man Legends
13:57Let's take a break from Nintendo games for just a brief moment.
14:00Some PlayStation games aren't any better at hiding adult jokes in E-rated games.
14:06Take Capcom's Mega Man Legends.
14:08There is a moment where Volnut can enter Roll's room while she's taking a bath.
14:13While we don't ever see her, it's not this bit that we're concerned about.
14:17It's the aftermath.
14:19Roll gives Volnut an earful and yells at him to leave.
14:23Sure, Volnut looks ashamed and embarrassed in the moment,
14:25but when he finally leaves, the little delinquent does a quick fist pump like he just achieved something.
14:32The sheer audacity.
14:34That was no accident.
14:36Next time, knock before opening the door.
14:39Story roll.
14:42Number 4.
14:43The infamous Waluigi Chop
14:45Super Mario Strikers
14:47One of the bits that made Super Mario Strikers so memorable was the change in tone compared to most Mario games.
14:59This is a game that had some grit and attitude behind it.
15:02For parents, there may have been a bit too much grit and attitude,
15:07especially when our lord and savior Waluigi was on screen.
15:11When scoring a goal, Waluigi will sometimes get carried away and celebrate with a series of crotch chops.
15:18Yeah, that was not a sight we were anticipating,
15:21and the pelvic thrusting certainly doesn't help us forget that image.
15:25We're sure the internet doesn't mind it, though.
15:28Play it! Play it!
15:30Play it!
15:31Number 3.
15:33The Bone in Pteridactyl Land
15:35Banjo-Tooie
15:36This one is a bit more explicit than the other Nintendo games.
15:46Kids may not put two and two together,
15:47but the adults will certainly see it,
15:49and we can never unsee it.
15:52While exploring the prehistoric environments of Pteridactyl Land,
15:55players will come across a small, swampy area
15:58with a narrow path of rocks going down the middle.
16:02The only thing is that that path of rocks looks a little bit bulbous and flaccid,
16:07don't you think?
16:08Like we said,
16:09you will never unsee it.
16:11And hey,
16:12what else would you expect from a series known for the occasional innuendo?
16:20Number 2.
16:22A Peachy Shower
16:23Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door
16:26Speaking of steamy moments in Nintendo games,
16:32the Paper Mario series is blushing in the corner as we speak,
16:36and we know exactly why, too.
16:38The Thousand Year Door shows a scene where Peach is exploring the rooms of the place
16:42where she's being held captive.
16:45One of these rooms holds a shower and is interactive.
16:48Kids will most likely think nothing of it,
16:51it's just somebody taking a bath or a shower, no big deal.
16:54For an adult passing by, though,
16:56sensors are most likely kicking into overdrive.
17:00Man, the Mushroom Kingdom will shower through any crisis, huh?
17:06Number 1.
17:08Starlene's Glitch
17:09Ratchet & Clank
17:11Granted, Ratchet & Clank isn't exactly a kid's game as it is rated T for teen,
17:21but any normal parent would flip if this appeared on their kid's screen,
17:25regardless of age.
17:26In the original Ratchet & Clank for PS2,
17:29there's a really weird glitch that, for some reason,
17:32affects Starlene.
17:34Just start flip-jumping around her like a madman while strafing,
17:37and her cleavage will begin to grow.
17:41Somehow.
17:42Yeah, video game logic.
17:44Also, yes, this is possible in the PS3 HD port.
17:48Why this happens is a mystery to everybody,
17:51including the developers themselves.
17:59Which of these inappropriate moments shocked you the most?
