00:00Get that back in.
00:00Sorry.
00:23Welcome back to Hot Rod Garage.
00:24I'm Alex Taylor, and this is Lucky Costa.
00:26Hello.
00:27So we have a truck that may be familiar to some of you.
00:30This is our 66D100 that was on Roadkill and Roadkill Garage.
00:34This came from a junkyard in Colorado.
00:37This thing actually started up and worked pretty easy.
00:39It's almost too reliable.
00:41They put a battery in it, did a little work on the carburetor,
00:43and then drove it to California.
00:44Then it came back later on Roadkill Garage,
00:46and they did a little bit of a brake maintenance
00:48slash upgrade somewhere.
00:50The only brakes they could do were brakes on the car,
00:53which is weird for the show.
00:54Which means that we basically have the same vehicle
00:57that is somewhat usable.
01:00A nice, dependable, somewhat conservative, good-looking driver.
01:04Find the lies there.
01:06Boring.
01:07Boring.
01:07So we're going to do what you do with every good farm truck,
01:10and you aim it straight at the autocross course.
01:13I would not have guessed that, but go ahead.
01:16It's going to be fun.
01:17Yes, it is.
01:18We're going to do suspension upgrades.
01:20Right on this, has leaf springs and straight axle on the front,
01:23which is okay, but not okay for this application.
01:26QA1 makes a complete front crossmember,
01:29tubular uppers and lowers,
01:30coilovers all the way around, everything.
01:32And it's not bolt-on, but it's easy to install.
01:34Yeah, so we're going to be doing that,
01:36and then even though they did some brake upgrade over there,
01:38we're going to do Willwood disc brakes front,
01:40and if we get to the rear, we'll also do the rear.
01:42It's not necessary, but if we have time, we will.
01:44If we have time, then we'll make it happen,
01:46and then we're going to upgrade to a five-speed Tremec transmission also.
01:50Right, because the senior citizen, four-speed that's in there.
01:54Senior citizen?
01:55Yeah, I'm not trying to do granny or grandpa.
01:57All right, grandpa.
01:58We're upgrading here.
02:01I'm getting major tater truck vibes.
02:04These are tater days.
02:05Oh, goodness.
02:13Too much?
02:14That's so bad.
02:15I think maybe the first thing we should do
02:17is maybe suspension.
02:18Maybe.
02:19I feel like that's a, yeah, that's a good diagonal.
02:24Uh-huh.
02:24Yeah.
02:27That's...
02:27Second gear it is.
02:32I wonder if...
02:33The clutch still hasn't come up.
02:35It's not.
02:36There it is.
02:38We are finding the weak links.
02:40A problem run?
02:41Practice.
02:41So we tested some turns.
02:46We tested some acceleration.
02:48Some jumps.
02:48And the thing that we unexpectedly found
02:51was that while everything else sustained the wear and tear,
02:54the hood did not want to stay closed.
02:56It got orange fast.
02:58And we realized that it was just wanting to show us
03:00what it had under the hood.
03:01It has a 318 poly in it.
03:03So there's the L and the LA.
03:05A is the earlier model.
03:07LA is the late A.
03:09They have the same bottom end,
03:10but the top end on the earlier ones,
03:12heads and everything,
03:13are totally different.
03:15Different.
03:15They only make factory manifolds,
03:17which is four barrel,
03:17two barrel, four barrel,
03:19two four barrels,
03:20and a six-pack.
03:21Or you can buy one from YN
03:22that was like a used one
03:24that they did like 20 years ago or so.
03:26So that's what we're finding.
03:27I'm not disappointed in the power.
03:29This thing did just fine.
03:30It's everything else that needs a little work.
03:32Right.
03:32From the bell housing back.
03:39So now that the tire is off,
03:40we get a quick peek in here
03:41and I'll show you exactly what we're going to do.
03:44So with autocross,
03:44or handling as our goal,
03:46this straight axle with leaf springs
03:47becomes our first big problem.
03:49So basically all the suspension,
03:50it's going south.
03:51Shocks going south.
03:52We have new mounts,
03:53new purges,
03:53upper and lower control arms,
03:54crossmember,
03:55coilover shocks,
03:56all from QA1.
03:57That's going to replace
03:58all this antiquated
03:59leaf spring straight axle stuff.
04:02Also going south
04:03is the factory steering gearbox,
04:05which means we're going to potentially
04:06be changing the entire steering column
04:08unless we can modify it
04:09and put one of those
04:10universal steering links on it
04:11to tie it to the rack and pinion.
04:14That's right.
04:141966 D100 is going to be lowered
04:17with coilovers,
04:18tubular control arms,
04:19and rack and pinion,
04:20which is a complete autocross upgrade
04:22for a legitimate junkyard found farm truck.
04:26A couple of things I see now
04:27that we were suspecting
04:28are the exhaust dumps
04:30right in the middle
04:31of the wheel wheel area.
04:32That's right where
04:33the crossmember is going to go.
04:34The new control arms
04:35are going to be coming off
04:36of the frame right here,
04:37and there's an exhaust system right there.
04:39So that means we're changing the headers.
04:41So this whole episode
04:41is going to be based on
04:42throwing on some brakes,
04:44updating the suspension,
04:45and putting in
04:45a five-speed transmission.
04:47Everything else is going to stay
04:49pretty much the same,
04:50but we have to touch everything else.
04:51The exhaust system
04:52has to come out
04:53and be completely changed.
04:54The oil pan,
04:55bottom of the motor,
04:56has to come out
04:56and be completely changed.
04:57There is no transmission crossmember.
04:59There are a front
05:00and rear motor mount.
05:01We need only one set
05:03of motor mounts,
05:03but we need a transmission crossmember
05:05and a trans mount for the back.
05:07Yeah, what looks like something
05:09you could do pretty quick,
05:11maybe not so much,
05:12but it's going to be worth
05:13all the work in the end.
05:14All right, so what I was going to do
05:23was snatch out the shackle
05:24in the front
05:25and the leaf spring bracket
05:26in the back
05:27and lower this whole thing
05:28down one shot,
05:29just cut the brake lines.
05:29We're not reusing
05:30any of this stuff.
05:31I clamped off the brake lines
05:32to prevent me
05:33from making a giant mess today.
05:34We're burning this candle
05:35from both sides,
05:36so I can't lower the vehicle
05:38right now.
05:38So I think what I'm going to do
05:39is go ahead and zip off
05:40the little U-bolt.
05:41I'll drop the axle,
05:42put it on the bench,
05:43and then take the springs
05:44out one at a time.
05:45As strange as it sounds,
05:46that seems like a safer way
05:48to do it right now.
05:49Trying something new today.
05:54That should do it.
06:04Fixed it.
06:05So trying to take
06:06the leaf spring eyelet bolts out,
06:10and the rust monster
06:12has got it.
06:13And I got the nuts
06:14off of all of them.
06:15One bolt is free,
06:16but the other two
06:17are very rusted in place.
06:19This is oddly designed.
06:20It's odd that they put a hole
06:22for accessing the front,
06:24but they did not include
06:25any holes anywhere
06:26to access either
06:27of the back bolts.
06:29I guarantee you,
06:30if the body wasn't
06:31on the frame
06:32and it was all clean and new
06:34and it was a Friday,
06:36this is exactly
06:37how it would go together.
06:37because they're getting
06:39ready to leave.
06:39It's Friday night,
06:40just sticking on there,
06:42making a roller.
06:43Uh-huh.
06:44Okay, so I think
06:45that's maybe far enough.
06:48Yes, no.
06:52Straight out to scrap.
06:54So for our D100,
06:57we're looking to lower
06:57the back by right
06:58around six inches.
07:00So once we had
07:00the leaf springs out,
07:01all I had to do
07:02was trim a little bit
07:03of material off
07:04of this flip kit bracket
07:05because it was actually
07:06designed for a Chevy OBS,
07:08but now it should be
07:09ready to install.
07:10All right,
07:11what is a flip kit?
07:14It's right here.
07:15So the cool part is
07:16QA1 already did
07:17all this R&D for us.
07:19By R&D,
07:19I just mean
07:20they figured out
07:20this needs to be shorter
07:21to fit up here.
07:23So this is basically
07:25the same thing
07:26as this up here.
07:27So the spring
07:28was once
07:30on this side
07:32and then we flipped
07:34it all
07:34to where the spring
07:35is below.
07:35So basically,
07:36that's going to allow
07:37the back to drop
07:38about six inches
07:39and then we're going
07:39to probably put
07:40another block in it
07:41to drop it another inch,
07:42potentially.
07:43Got to see that part.
07:44Basically,
07:45it goes up here
07:46and slides in
07:47this little pocket
07:48up here just like that
07:49and this bolt
07:51that's sticking out
07:52on the top of the spring
07:53will slide up in
07:55and locate the spring
07:56and locate everything
07:57and then I'm going
07:58to sit this back down
07:59just a second.
08:00Hold.
08:03Then this plate
08:03right here
08:04will go under here
08:05like that.
08:06See how it's got
08:06two holes?
08:07So this is going
08:08to locate under here
08:09and then we'll put
08:10the U-bolts in
08:10from the top.
08:11So basically,
08:12it's very simple.
08:13The hardest part
08:14about this
08:15is just getting
08:15the old rusty bolts out.
08:17That's honestly been
08:18the most time-consuming part
08:19because everything
08:20is stuck.
08:21But once we got
08:22all that figured out,
08:23got a little
08:23lucky strength assistance,
08:25not too bad.
08:26So get this stuck
08:27up there
08:28and then it'll be time
08:29to put our new
08:29QA1 shocks on.
08:31These are a shorter
08:32shock than the stock shock
08:34because since we're
08:35lowering it so much,
08:36if not,
08:37it would bottom out.
08:38So this is a shorter
08:39shock designed
08:40for specifically
08:40what we're doing.
08:41The kit does allow
08:42you to use stock shocks
08:44if you wanted to
08:45for some reason
08:46and it would have
08:47a way to move
08:48to the mount
08:48so that way
08:49it would still work.
08:50But it's just about
08:50time to get this
08:51all squared back way
08:52because this
08:53is sketchy
08:55and I'm actually
08:55standing way too
08:56close to it.
08:57I just realized.
09:04This is our 66
09:06D100 truck
09:07that you might have
09:08seen on Roadkill
09:09but is currently
09:10in our garage now.
09:11Yesterday,
09:12I got the flip kit
09:13all wrapped up on this
09:14which basically
09:15is allowing us
09:16to lower the truck
09:17seven inches
09:17in the back
09:18which is going
09:19to match
09:19the same drop
09:20that we need
09:20in the front
09:21going from
09:21the straight axle
09:22over to
09:23the independent
09:24suspension up there.
09:25Really nice kit
09:26that QA1 has
09:27for the front.
09:28Lucky currently
09:28has that in motion
09:29but we're waiting
09:30on a new oil pan
09:31to come
09:32so he can wrap
09:32that part up.
09:33Then we also have
09:34a Willwood
09:35disc brake conversion
09:36for the front
09:36so we have some
09:37other fun stuff
09:38coming up.
09:39Let's get started.
09:42Unfortunately,
09:42this oil pan
09:44front sump style
09:45is designed
09:46to work
09:46with the old
09:46straight axle
09:47which would travel
09:48right back here.
09:48There's plenty of room.
09:50We're getting ready
09:50to put in that
09:50QA1 crossmember
09:51with all the
09:52independent front
09:53suspension
09:53and all the
09:54coil overs
09:55and the cool
09:55sway bars.
09:56However,
09:57this sump
09:57needs to be
09:58back here.
09:59So what I'm
09:59doing right now
10:00is getting ready
10:00to snatch off
10:01the front sump
10:02oil pan.
10:03I have to drain
10:04the oil first
10:04of course.
10:05What I mean
10:06by front sump
10:06is the majority
10:08of the oil
10:08is in the sump
10:09up here in the front
10:10the lower portion
10:11of the oil pan.
10:12Take this thing
10:13off.
10:13We're going to
10:13change the pickup
10:14which is actually
10:15what dips into
10:15the sump.
10:16Make it so it
10:17dips into the back
10:18and then put
10:19the new oil pan
10:20on.
10:20This should go
10:21pretty smooth.
10:23Oh, look at that.
10:38As you can see
10:39we've constructed
10:40a fixture
10:41an apparatus
10:42sketchy pile
10:46of jack stands
10:47and workbench
10:48and we're going
10:49to try to push
10:49the whole cross
10:50member with the
10:50control arms
10:51hanging from it
10:51under the truck
10:52lower the truck
10:53down.
10:54We moved
10:54everything up
10:55to eye height
10:56so that you
10:57can enjoy
10:57the sketchism
10:59that is
11:00Hot Rod Garage.
11:01Right there
11:02I am clear.
11:03Mark this day
11:04on your calendar.
11:05I read in the
11:05instructions they
11:06suggest putting it
11:07in a little bit
11:08further forward
11:08and sliding it
11:09back because the
11:09frame actually
11:10gets a little bit
11:10wider when we go
11:11back which is
11:11exactly what we're
11:12doing.
11:12Perfect.
11:13Okay.
11:13Okay bring her
11:14down.
11:15You just wanted to
11:15say you read the
11:16instructions.
11:17Proud of you.
11:18And.
11:20Stop.
11:21Stop.
11:22And I can hold
11:23this in place.
11:27So this whole
11:28system is designed
11:29to use one
11:30of the holes
11:32in the frame
11:32that is
11:33already there.
11:35It used to have
11:35the old brake line
11:36going through
11:36and they provide
11:37you with these
11:38oversized bolts
11:40that go right
11:40through that hole
11:41so that instantly
11:42becomes a
11:43mounting point
11:44that is measured
11:46off to be
11:46exactly in the
11:47middle.
11:57Does your side
11:58steer?
11:58It does.
11:59My side steer.
12:00It go up and
12:00down?
12:01It goes up and
12:02down.
12:02Cool.
12:03The heavy part
12:04is installed.
12:05This is one bolt
12:05holding on either
12:06side.
12:08The next part
12:08is super glamorous.
12:10We're just going
12:11to drill a bunch
12:11of holes and put
12:12some bolts in.
12:13That's a good
12:13time.
12:14I kind of want
12:14to hide back
12:15here with you
12:16because it's not
12:17stopping my hands
12:18from getting burnt.
12:20Higher.
12:22No.
12:24Okay.
12:25That was
12:26entertaining.
12:26Take her down.
12:28We only have to
12:28do that three more
12:29times.
12:29ready for that.
12:50Mine is in the hole.
12:52Okay,
12:52but mine won't
12:53even go up that
12:53high.
12:54Our goal today
12:55is to get the
12:56rack and pinion
12:57installed,
12:58the suspension
12:58installed.
12:59We were almost
13:00there.
13:01Guess what we
13:01have to modify?
13:03Stinking exhaust.
13:04But if I modify,
13:07I'm just going to cut
13:09it out of the way.
13:10We'll worry about
13:10that later.
13:12We got this
13:13this time.
13:16Would you look
13:17at that?
13:18It's not even an
13:19exhaust in the way.
13:20So after we
13:21installed the power
13:22steering rack,
13:22me and Alex noticed
13:23that the tie rods
13:24did not quite line up
13:26with the spindles.
13:27That means
13:28that this
13:29front suspension
13:30is designed to
13:30have a wider
13:31wheelbase.
13:31Obviously,
13:32it's a big truck.
13:33So it has a wider
13:34wheelbase.
13:35These guys
13:36thought about that.
13:38Speedway Motors
13:38has a four-inch
13:40rack and pinion
13:41extension kit.
13:42You take the boot
13:43off of your rack and
13:44pinion and unscrew
13:45this.
13:46And then you
13:46screw this on,
13:47screw this back on,
13:48and then they also
13:49provide roll pins
13:50here.
13:50So that way,
13:51you can see these
13:52little holes on the
13:53sides of this.
13:53And basically,
13:54the roll pin goes
13:55into it,
13:56locks it all in place.
13:57So it's just an
13:57extra safety measure.
13:59So this is a nice
14:00kit.
14:00It also comes with
14:01extended boots and
14:02all the stuff that
14:03you need for it.
14:04And I'm just drilling
14:05in, hammering the
14:06roll pin in,
14:08and that project
14:09will be done.
14:13Okay, so that just
14:14about knocks out
14:15all the suspension
14:16work.
14:16Everything is installed.
14:17Everything is done
14:18in the back.
14:19All the good stuff's
14:19installed in the front.
14:20We have some
14:21Woolwood brakes
14:21to install and a
14:22five-speed
14:23transmission along
14:24with a new
14:24master cylinder,
14:25probably some
14:26hydraulic lines,
14:27a little bit of
14:27steering,
14:28and I think
14:28that's about it
14:30right now.
14:37All right,
14:38so we currently
14:38have a 66D100
14:40in the shop.
14:41Which we want
14:41to take this truck
14:41autocrossing.
14:42The one thing
14:43that we definitely
14:44for sure knew
14:45that we wanted
14:45to change,
14:46it was a good
14:46upgrade,
14:47was swapping
14:48out transmissions.
14:49Currently,
14:49this truck has
14:50a granny low gear,
14:51so it wasn't
14:52exactly a quick
14:53shifter or gear
14:54for autocross.
14:55We have our
14:56American Powertrain
14:57five-speed
14:58trimmick transmission
14:59here.
14:59This is for a Ford
15:00application.
15:01It's all going to
15:02bolt directly to
15:02our 318 poly
15:04without issue.
15:05So in order to do
15:06that and make that
15:07change,
15:07we have to hang
15:09our motor up in the
15:10back with some kind
15:10of apparatus,
15:11which we're going
15:12to design,
15:12and then we have to
15:13drop everything else
15:14out the bottom.
15:15I do know,
15:16though,
15:16that our transmission
15:17crossmember that's
15:18in there currently
15:19is not a
15:20removable crossmember,
15:21so to say.
15:22So why not removable?
15:24What I actually mean
15:25is that the transmount
15:26is integrated
15:26into the bell housing,
15:27and it also kind of
15:28sort of acts like
15:29an engine mount as well.
15:30But since the
15:31transmission is coming
15:32out, we'll have to
15:33come up with a new
15:33support.
15:35I just got done
15:36digging my way down
15:37through multiple layers
15:38of insulation,
15:40fire retardant,
15:41heat shield,
15:42Henry's roofing tar,
15:44some jute padding,
15:45and some lovely
15:45carpeting from a local
15:46automotive facility,
15:48no doubt.
15:48Let me just go past
15:50the speaker wires.
15:52I'll secure them up
15:52here on the
15:538-track knob.
15:55Lose the keys
15:55before we lose
15:56the keys.
15:58Taking off the
15:59trans tunnel,
16:00it actually unbolts.
16:02Cool thing about
16:02older vehicles like
16:03this, and you
16:04wouldn't think
16:04that would be the
16:06case, is it's
16:07designed to be
16:08worked on.
16:08I mean, everything
16:09on here is designed
16:10for you to fix in
16:11your farm on the
16:12side of a road
16:13or, you know,
16:14who knows what.
16:14The shift hold
16:15lever, nowadays,
16:16you'd need $8,000
16:17with the tools
16:18to take this
16:18thing apart.
16:19This thing is then
16:20you push down,
16:21you twist,
16:21little snap ring pops
16:22off and the shifter's
16:24out so that you
16:25can get the tunnel
16:25off, and now I
16:26have clear access
16:27to the complete
16:29transmission,
16:30which is this
16:30section right here,
16:31and the cast iron
16:32bell housing and
16:33all the bell housing
16:34bolts, so there's
16:34no sticking your hand
16:36down between the
16:36firewall trying to
16:37get every little
16:38bolt off.
16:39They're all right
16:39here.
16:40I'm going to zip
16:40them off with the
16:41impact.
16:41Drive shaft's already
16:42unhooked.
16:43This is going to be
16:43a pretty cake
16:44removal.
16:45I mean, this
16:46could take hours,
16:47and hours.
16:49Complicated project.
16:50Luckily, I'm here.
16:52We're going to
16:53remove the, in
16:54California, I believe
16:55they call it a
16:55transmission.
16:57Transmission?
16:58Transmission.
16:58Full stop.
17:00And honestly,
17:01I don't know what's
17:02going to happen here.
17:03Okay.
17:04If it starts to get
17:05sketchy, I'm going
17:06out the back, you go
17:07out the front.
17:07I'll go out the front.
17:08We'll get the PAs to
17:09clean up the mess.
17:13The further down it
17:14goes, the less it has
17:15to fall.
17:16True.
17:17I'm sure there's
17:18a bunch of people
17:19out there that know
17:19the exact part number.
17:21Honestly, it's just
17:22an old compound,
17:22low, four-speed
17:23transmission.
17:24And I'm going to
17:25tell you, during the
17:25test drive, we tested
17:27it because we were
17:28bouncing it in first
17:29gear, bouncing it in
17:30second gear, burning
17:31it in third gear.
17:33Pro tip, you do want
17:34to go to second gear
17:35before you go to first
17:35gear and transmissions
17:36like this.
17:37But no metal fell out.
17:41What is that a whole
17:41other engine?
17:42Yeah.
17:45I'm looking at a place
17:46to just put a little
17:47pressure on the motor
17:48just in case it were
17:49to drop.
17:50There's not a lot of
17:50good places, so I have
17:52it under the oil pan.
17:53I know it might smash
17:55it, but we're not
17:55putting pressure on it.
17:56It's just like a last
17:58case for the last...
18:00Ditch effort.
18:01Yeah.
18:03Okay, so one of the
18:04strange things about
18:04this whole setup is
18:06cast iron bell housing,
18:07which is also the rear
18:09motor mount slash
18:10transmission mount, it
18:11is designed to go
18:12like cover pretty much
18:14most of the rear of the
18:16block, and there's no
18:16provisions to like take
18:18it off like a conventional
18:19sort of bell housing
18:20and clutch.
18:21This is actually part of
18:22the block, the way it's
18:23designed.
18:23So you can pull the
18:24transmission out, which
18:25removes the shaft from
18:26the pilot bushing and
18:27flywheel clutch disc and
18:29everything, but then you
18:30have to disconnect all
18:31of the clutch assembly,
18:32drop all that out, then
18:33take the flywheel off and
18:35drop that out the bottom,
18:36and then you can take the
18:37bell housing bolts off,
18:38support the motor, and
18:39remove the bell housing
18:40with help from a friend.
18:48No.
18:49Yeah, basically, if you
18:50can't see, we have a
18:51what technically I think
18:53is called a conundrum.
18:54Good one.
18:55Yeah.
18:55Nice.
18:55And it's the fact that
18:56the bell housing is like
18:57this big, and the hole is
18:59like this big, and then
19:01there's the mounts have
19:03studs about this long.
19:04I'm still tripping on
19:05conundrum.
19:06That's like HRG first,
19:07I believe.
19:08Yeah.
19:08Vocabulary is increasing.
19:09Yeah.
19:10We were able to get the
19:12rear motor mounts off of
19:13the cast iron bell housing.
19:14However, geometry prevents
19:16us from rotating it to get
19:18it out.
19:18We're going to have to
19:19remove this for a cross
19:20member anyway.
19:21So to save a little bit
19:22of time, and honestly,
19:23I really love a good
19:25Sawzall story, we're just
19:26going to do our little
19:26incisions right now.
19:28This thing will fall out,
19:29and then we'll move on.
19:33Gross.
19:36That weighs a lot.
19:45In every form of racing,
19:47including autocross,
19:48weight is your enemy.
19:49And this week, we're
19:50destroying our enemy.
19:52This is a special segment.
19:54It is very special.
19:55It is entitled Skip-A-Meal.
19:58Yeah.
19:58Which is what we're hoping
19:59we're going to teach this
20:00truck how to do, because
20:01it has not missed a pound
20:03since it was born.
20:04No, I mean, derived from
20:05very, very logical
20:07terminology here.
20:08Right.
20:09When we took this down,
20:11it was rather heavy.
20:12I'm going to guess that
20:13this weighs as much as
20:15the entire new transmission.
20:17Let's set this up there.
20:19All right.
20:22That is 58 pounds.
20:24That is not light.
20:25Oh, that's so heavy.
20:27It doesn't even tickle the scale.
20:3116 pounds.
20:33Okay.
20:34So, old.
20:36What did you call me?
20:37New.
20:39I think we should also weigh
20:40starters.
20:42Yeah, this is actually the stuff
20:43we're all swapping out.
20:4420 pounds.
20:45A 20-pound starter.
20:47Seven pounds.
20:49Flywheel.
20:49I'll get flywheel.
20:50I bet those weigh close
20:51to the same.
20:5332 pounds.
20:54This feels pretty close.
20:56They're the same.
20:5927.
21:00We still lost weight.
21:01Pretty close.
21:01And then we need the clutch.
21:0423.
21:0717.
21:0817 for new.
21:09I think the starter
21:10is my most surprising part.
21:1120-pounder?
21:1120-pound starter.
21:12Okay, now, if we only had
21:14three more people to help me
21:15pick up this transmission.
21:17Here, catch it, Mark.
21:18Yeah.
21:19136.
21:24Dun-da-da-dun-da-da-dun!
21:28Nine.
21:29One.
21:29One.
21:29Two.
21:30One.
21:31So, it's 100 pounds,
21:33but that is dry.
21:34Yeah.
21:35So, being generous,
21:36we're going to call it
21:36105 with oil.
21:38Yeah.
21:38But wait, no.
21:39Those are 14-ounce bottles.
21:41It's going to take three.
21:42103.
21:43103.
21:44So, the old combination
21:45with one less skater
21:47was 269.
21:50The new one is 170.
21:52We are looking at
21:53a 99-pound weight savings.
21:55Right.
21:56I wonder if it's
21:57going to be faster now.
21:58Oh, we should weigh
21:59all the stuff we took
21:59off the front of this thing.
22:00Good idea.
22:01But all the other stuff
22:02is already on there,
22:03so, nope.
22:04On this episode
22:05of Skip a Meal,
22:06we're getting ready
22:07to put our brand-new
22:08five-speed
22:09trimming transmission
22:10in our truck,
22:11and then we have
22:12a whole lot of good stuff
22:13coming up after that.
22:15So, we've gone ahead
22:16and installed
22:16the pilot bushing.
22:17It's actually a bearing,
22:18which is a little bit
22:19better than a bushing.
22:20So, flywheel's installed,
22:21all torque to spec.
22:22Going to put the clutch
22:23in right now.
22:27Would you like a bolt?
22:29I have a couple over here.
22:30But this one's
22:31the right bolt.
22:33I'm going to use
22:33the rusty ones.
22:34Trying to keep
22:35clutch patina correct.
22:36Well, it's not even
22:37patina.
22:38You just don't have
22:39the assembly lube here.
22:42Oh, you're...
22:43Yeah.
22:43It's up with you
22:44and the lube.
22:45It's on everything.
22:47You've got to get it
22:48correct, you know?
22:50So, this new combination
22:52is a lot...
22:53It's a lot nicer
22:57than the other one.
22:58It is.
22:59These torques
23:00are 45 foot-pounds.
23:01Really?
23:01Yeah.
23:02Tell you what,
23:02because you've gotten
23:03stuff all over my hands,
23:04go ahead and put in
23:04that last one.
23:06And I left it
23:07at the very top.
23:08Nice guy.
23:09All right, so he's
23:10going to cut a hole
23:10in the floor
23:11and then we're
23:11going to bolt this up.
23:12This five-speed here
23:13has three different
23:14positions you can put...
23:16That's correct.
23:16That's good.
23:17Yep.
23:17Three different positions
23:18you can put the shifter.
23:20The shifter in the truck
23:21originally was
23:21all the way up here
23:23with a little bit
23:24short transmission.
23:25So, no matter
23:25what you do,
23:26it's still at the back,
23:28a lot further back.
23:29So, he's making
23:29a surgical incision
23:31with a hole saw
23:31currently.
23:33And then we get
23:33to put this
23:34real nice piece in.
23:35So, American powertrain.
23:37Rock.
23:38So, we measured
23:39the distance
23:40between the back
23:40of the block
23:41and the fingers
23:42on the clutch
23:42when they're
23:44not compressed
23:45but installed.
23:46So, they're not
23:47unloaded.
23:47They're not depressed.
23:49They're just
23:50where they're supposed
23:51to be during
23:51operating the vehicle.
23:53So, what we want
23:54is to have this
23:55throwout bearing
23:57right here
23:57to float
23:58just above those,
23:59just the smallest
24:00amount of air gap
24:01to prevent this
24:02from spinning nonstop
24:03because it will
24:03burn up eventually.
24:04So, we did that
24:05measurement
24:05and we came over here
24:07and FYI,
24:08that's the face
24:09of the block.
24:10I'll turn it
24:11around this way.
24:12That's the mounting
24:13surface on the engine
24:14and this is
24:15the actual
24:16fingers of the clutch.
24:17We put a straight edge
24:18from the throwout
24:19bearing
24:19and we were able
24:20to look right
24:20through this little
24:21inspection hole
24:22right here
24:22and get a very
24:23accurate reference
24:25to exactly
24:26where the throwout
24:27bearing will be
24:28riding on
24:29the pressure plate.
24:30We went
24:31and we simplified
24:31all this
24:32and we need
24:33about
24:34an eighth of an inch.
24:35Right.
24:36They could have
24:36just put that
24:36at the end
24:37but just so you
24:38get all of the
24:39explanation
24:39let me read it
24:40to you
24:40how this works.
24:41So, you're going
24:41to need two
24:42measurements.
24:42Sit down
24:42and get a beverage.
24:43You're going
24:43to need a pen
24:44or pencil
24:44scratch paper
24:45straight edge
24:45partially assembled
24:47drivetrain
24:47then you're going
24:48to take two
24:48measurements.
24:49You need the
24:49bell facing
24:50to the clutch
24:51diaphragm
24:51minus the
24:52bearing face
24:53to the trans
24:54bell face
24:54minus 1.50
24:55divided by 0.90
24:57which equals
24:58the number of shims.
24:59Now, if you want
24:59to simplify that
25:00a little bit further
25:01it's B minus A
25:02minus 150,000
25:04divided by 90,000
25:05which equals
25:06the number
25:06of shims
25:07or more simply
25:08put
25:09that's going
25:09to work out
25:10to having
25:11a gap
25:11of somewhere
25:12between
25:13100 to 200,000
25:15about an eighth
25:16of an inch.
25:16They recommend
25:17that you can run
25:18it at 100,000
25:19but for optimum
25:20performance
25:21and less
25:22potential for issues
25:23run it between
25:24150 to 200,000
25:26gap.
25:26So, save yourself
25:27a tree
25:28don't waste
25:30any paper
25:30don't use a pencil
25:32it's about
25:33an eighth of an inch.
25:43The thing with this
25:44is there's a lot
25:44of stuff to align
25:45and while we wrestled
25:47with it for just a minute
25:48and it cleared
25:49literally by a schmidge
25:50of the floor
25:51that's a very technical term
25:52then all of a sudden
25:54it's like the clouds
25:54went away
25:55the sun started shining
25:56and the transmission
25:57just slid right into place.
25:58and it went
25:59kicking the verbato.
26:06That was good.
26:07Transmission is installed
26:08thrall bearing
26:09is all plumbed
26:10right out the side
26:10of the bell housing
26:11brakes are not on
26:12shifter used to come out
26:14from one of the dashboard
26:14now it comes out
26:15next to the seat
26:15we're gonna have
26:16to tackle that problem
26:17we have a trans cross
26:18mirror to put in
26:18we gotta put the brakes
26:19back
26:19we got a bunch
26:20of stuff still to do
26:21are we gonna get it
26:21done today?
26:22I don't think so
26:23but there's a good
26:24chance it might happen.
26:25Those are good signs.
26:47What are you working on?
26:48I am negotiating
26:49with the steering gearbox
26:50of course.
26:51How's that going?
26:52I'm gonna win.
26:53Since we're going
26:53to power steering
26:55now that we have
26:55a new rack
26:56from QA1
26:57to go with our new
26:58suspension up front
26:59we're having to
27:01take the old gearbox off
27:03and it's a two-man job
27:04luck is that they're
27:05doing the grunt work
27:06and I'm holding
27:07the steering wheel.
27:08Once the steering
27:09is kind of handled
27:09you can see that
27:10we have a brand new
27:11transmission sticking
27:12through the hole
27:12in the floor
27:13so the cover
27:14that was there
27:14should go back on
27:17we'll have to check that
27:17if not we may have
27:18to modify
27:18and then we gotta
27:19put our new
27:20shift handle on
27:21for the relocation
27:23he's mocking me
27:25I'm gonna wipe you
27:29like a bug
27:30with the windshield wipers
27:32almost there
27:33it's about to go
27:35looks like a
27:39eight pounder
27:40so we had to
27:41unbolt the steering column
27:42to get the old
27:43steering gearbox out
27:44they make an adapter
27:45that bolts to the
27:46front of the steering column
27:46it eliminates the rag joint
27:48allows us to put
27:49the steering universal
27:49right on the steering shaft
27:51which is good
27:51they also leave you
27:53provisions
27:53they give you
27:53a longer lock stud
27:55so I drilled it
27:56all the way through
27:57so I feel better
27:58than it just sort of
27:59pressing against the shaft
28:00potentially coming loose
28:02I drilled it all the way
28:03through so that's cool
28:04with the jam nuts
28:05a little bit of loctite
28:06the steering couplers
28:07the rack
28:09it's all hooked up
28:09let's just see
28:10is there anything
28:11moving over there?
28:13it is moving
28:14is it moving?
28:14it is moving
28:15form out
28:16right arm
28:18farm truck
28:20get it
28:21farm out
28:21farm out
28:22right arm
28:23farm out right arm
28:24right arm
28:25kitchen
28:26answer
28:27none
28:28question
28:29everyone is a question
28:30confused
28:31help
28:33perfect
28:34noted
28:35so I think
28:36the only thing
28:37left to do
28:37before we can
28:38actually sit down
28:39and do hydraulics
28:40and brakes
28:40is finish up the floor
28:42so this is
28:44the removable
28:45transmission tunnel
28:46from the truck
28:47Lucky took it out
28:48he has a plan
28:50as far as
28:50what he wants to do
28:51to patch this hole
28:52and then
28:53do a little more
28:54massaging
28:54with the hole
28:55that was put in the floor
28:56yesterday
28:57just cause
28:57it's offset
28:58just a little
28:59I'm just gonna make sure
29:00that it fits
29:01it has plenty
29:02of height
29:03to clear
29:04the only thing
29:04that I see
29:05with where the shifter
29:06is now sticking through
29:07I'm gonna have to cut
29:08a little bit more
29:09out of this tunnel
29:10so that way
29:11it has room
29:11to move forward
29:12the bolt right back in
29:14patch the hole up
29:15cut a little more
29:16of an opening
29:16pretty simple fix
29:17okay so we're doing
29:28final touches here
29:29made sure that this
29:29moves and is good
29:31and is not in a bind
29:32and all that
29:33so it is
29:34we've got the old
29:34shift boot on
29:35secured by a couple
29:37tech screws here
29:37we are now going to do
29:39the final touch
29:40of putting the ball
29:41on the shifter
29:42this is from
29:43American Powertrain
29:44their thing
29:45that they say
29:45is hashtag
29:46save the stick
29:47so that's what
29:48we're doing here
29:49so I'm gonna put
29:50this on
29:50I'll have to tighten
29:51it up
29:51put the carpet
29:52back down
29:52and then this part
29:53inside is done
29:54so with that said
29:56the five speed
29:57is now officially
29:58installed
29:58and we are ready
30:01to move on
30:01to the next thing
30:02which is brakes
30:03okay so now
30:05the 1966 D100
30:07is living low
30:08and by low
30:09I mean almost ready
30:10to go to the track
30:11lots of cool stuff
30:12from QA1
30:12on the car
30:13ready to go
30:14but now we need
30:15to figure out a way
30:16to make it stop
30:18just stop it
30:19will you please
30:20it's pretty simple
30:21with Wilwood
30:22we reached out to them
30:23they hooked us up
30:23with a complete
30:24front disc conversion
30:25kit
30:25for the front
30:26we definitely have
30:27six piston calipers
30:28billet hubs
30:30giant vented rotors
30:31and a vehicle
30:32specific 66 D100
30:34master cylinder
30:35who does that
30:36I don't know
30:37oh wait
30:38I do know
30:38it's Wilwood
30:39that's who does it
30:39I have brakes installed
30:53on both sides
30:54lucky got all the lions ran
30:56that's one of the hard
30:57parts of those done
30:58I'm going to put
30:58new master cylinder on
30:59which is a two pot
31:00master cylinder
31:01since we have disc brakes
31:02in the front
31:02and drum brakes
31:03in the rear
31:04get the lines on that
31:05and then we're
31:06in a pretty good spot
31:07we need to put these on
31:09get the hood on
31:10and then this will be
31:11ready to go autocross
31:13no it's cool
31:14very cool
31:14look at that
31:15that looks good
31:16if this thing
31:16catches on fire
31:17I'm saving
31:17the front suspension
31:18all of that
31:19I'm on
31:23I'm on
31:24these are
31:30pretty nice wheels
31:30they are very attractive
31:32what are these
31:3218s?
31:3318s
31:34that's going to
31:34fill the wheel
31:35well up nicely
31:35should be good
31:36for autocross
31:37how do we know that
31:38because it's low
31:39but we should
31:39probably
31:40we should
31:40shut it down
31:41check that out
31:41did we get
31:43everything done?
31:44I'll look at it
31:44from yeah
31:44I mean I think
31:45it's ready to go
31:46oh wait
31:47the other side
31:48we're halfway done
31:50the other side
31:51we're about halfway
31:51done
31:51yeah okay
31:52alright it is time
32:08to autocross
32:09our D100
32:10that we did
32:11some really good
32:12work to
32:12we did
32:13almost everything
32:14below the belt
32:15that is correct
32:16100%
32:17all new suspension
32:18front back
32:18adjustable coil overs
32:19all the way around
32:20rack and pinion steering
32:22new steering
32:23a five speed transmission
32:24big brakes
32:25amazing rims and tires
32:26the sneakers on this thing
32:27look great
32:28and if you hear that
32:29that all sounds like
32:30a recipe for autocross
32:31the only thing
32:32that may be a disadvantage
32:33is one
32:33we haven't had any time
32:34in the car
32:35two
32:35we haven't done a lot
32:37of autocross
32:37three
32:37it's a big vehicle
32:39but the other stuff
32:40makes it a perfect candidate
32:41to be out here
32:42absolutely
32:42birth 46
32:43San Pedro, California
32:44an event put on
32:45by Corner Exits
32:46full autocross
32:47which is basically set up
32:48for car balance
32:50and tire compound
32:52and shock adjustment
32:54and skill
32:55and technique
32:56and stuff I've never
32:58actually done
32:58interesting
33:00interesting
33:01so autocross
33:02is a timed event
33:03where it's basically
33:04in a parking lot
33:05usually or something
33:06that looks like
33:06a parking lot
33:07they take a whole
33:08bunch of cones
33:08and you try to get
33:09around it as fast
33:10and clean as you can
33:11don't knock cones down
33:12because then that
33:13costs you time
33:14usually smaller
33:15smaller vehicles
33:16do better
33:17less to maneuver
33:19through the stuff
33:19we have a big truck
33:20we do have a big truck
33:21we can put some
33:22of the smaller vehicles
33:24right in the back
33:24of the truck
33:25and drag it around
33:25I have to say
33:26beautiful location
33:27beautiful day
33:28good looking truck
33:30should be a good time
33:31oh but there's only
33:33one seatbelt
33:33you know that right
33:34that's his way
33:35of trying to get out
33:36of riding with me
33:36sorry
33:37so I have decided
33:38with that said
33:39you go first
33:41let me do the math
33:42on that
33:43okay
33:44gonna watch those cones
33:45jump right out the way
33:47they better run
33:47for their lives
33:48how's the handling feel
33:56so I do notice
33:58that we have
33:58quite a vibration
33:59in a second gear
34:00at a higher
34:00mile per hour
34:02very sensitive clutch
34:03it seems like
34:04it's just
34:04it's weird
34:05plus it's a new vehicle
34:06to me
34:07you too
34:08new clutch
34:09new five speed
34:10transmission
34:10we're gonna get
34:11accustomed to where
34:12everything works
34:13and engages
34:13and disengages
34:14we did not
34:18have a lot of time
34:19to test drive this
34:21so we brought it out
34:22as we're coming
34:22to the event
34:23oh no
34:23there's the great yogi
34:25the great yogi
34:27yeah you're on a yoga mat
34:28oh yeah
34:29that's right
34:29that's the most exercise
34:30I've seen you do
34:31all week bud
34:32I'm exhausted
34:33I was just
34:34under the car
34:35doing brain surgery
34:36was that upward
34:37facing dodge
34:38it was
34:38the inverted
34:39I got nothing
34:44that was good
34:45upward facing dodge
34:48anyways
34:49he was in this
34:50the inverted
34:51dodge grind
34:52position
34:53he was in this
34:54position
34:54because we got
34:56to take the truck
34:56out for a little
34:57test drive
34:57we found everything
34:59that we could find
34:59wrong with it
35:00so it has the
35:01original hydraulic
35:02clutch master cylinder
35:03that used to go
35:04to a slave cylinder
35:04on the right side
35:06of the car
35:06correct
35:07now it's on the
35:08left side
35:08going to hydraulic
35:09throttle bearing
35:09which has been
35:10replaced a few
35:10times
35:10yes
35:11so the size
35:12of the master
35:13cylinder is a little
35:14aggressive
35:15shall we say
35:15for the
35:16throttle bearing
35:17which are great
35:17we just installed
35:18another one
35:18the other day
35:19it's great
35:19it's supposed to
35:20be a three
35:20quarter inch bore
35:21this is a one
35:22inch bore
35:22there's a little
35:23bit of confusion
35:23on what could
35:24go with what
35:25oh there's some
35:26confusion
35:26so anyways
35:27we heard a
35:28throttle bearing
35:29and then now
35:29there's a new
35:30one in it
35:30and we're still
35:30having a little
35:31bit of issue
35:31however there's
35:32still a spring
35:33on the clutch
35:34under the dashboard
35:34to make it
35:35super comfortable
35:36to drive
35:36if it had a
35:37compound low
35:37and we were
35:38climbing up a hill
35:38on a farm
35:39I cannot wait
35:40for you to make
35:41a pass
35:41it's gonna be good
35:42the part that's
35:55gonna be interesting
35:55here is getting
35:56off the line
35:57I think once he's
35:57going he'll be
35:58totally fine
35:58but getting off
36:01the line
36:01that clutch
36:02is very touchy
36:03and it's very
36:04jerky
36:04you probably saw
36:05that in the test
36:05drive
36:06okay
36:12he's doing good
36:18oh there's smoke
36:20what is that
36:21oh okay
36:22okay so he got
36:24off the line
36:24that's a positive
36:25oh
36:27okay
36:28okay so you know
36:54what this thing
36:54launched amazing
36:55it didn't
36:57accelerated great
36:58in the first couple
36:59of turns
36:59felt good
37:00started to kick
37:00a little sideways
37:01started to feel a
37:01little bit more
37:02confident
37:02I only made it to
37:03the third curve
37:04there was a little
37:05incline over the dip
37:07felt good
37:08tires were cooking
37:09I was cooking
37:10it was all good
37:11and then all of a
37:12sudden I have
37:13let me count them
37:13first
37:16second
37:17third
37:18fourth
37:19five neutrals
37:21count them
37:22five
37:22six
37:24I have seven
37:25neutrals
37:25who was driving
37:27the cat
37:29who was driving
37:30the cat took over
37:31lucky broke it
37:32I walked right
37:35into that
37:35dude you know
37:35you're supposed to
37:36have a drive shaft
37:37right
37:37is it still in there
37:39no it's gone
37:39where is it
37:40gone
37:40who installed that
37:41not me
37:42hold on
37:43race car guys
37:44do this
37:44and girls
37:47sorry my bad
37:48my bad
37:48professional race car
37:50drivers do this
37:50what had happened
37:53was
37:53that's exactly
37:55how this story
37:55is going to start
37:55you stay right there
37:56I'll be right back
37:57what had happened
38:00was
38:01no no no
38:01this isn't mine
38:02mine was way
38:03longer than that
38:03this is yours
38:04wait let me see
38:05the other side
38:05alright
38:07alright
38:08you want this side
38:09yeah okay
38:10I recognize that
38:11that was mine
38:11thank you
38:12alright
38:13well how'd it feel
38:15it felt great
38:16I launched
38:18semi-aggressively
38:19I was actually
38:19proud of you
38:20because I said
38:20that's going to be
38:21the hard part
38:21is getting it
38:22off the line
38:22right
38:22I remember
38:24going over
38:24the little
38:25crevasse
38:26over the
38:26embankment
38:27and getting
38:28into it
38:28I want to say
38:30it about
38:30red line
38:32130 horsepower
38:33just before
38:34the back
38:34straight away
38:35that's my guess
38:36that didn't
38:36happen at all
38:38it sure
38:40happened in my head
38:40I think
38:42I think
38:42that maybe
38:42because
38:42there's a little
38:44bit of new
38:45geometry
38:45with our
38:46suspension
38:46maybe potentially
38:47when you went
38:48over the
38:48crevasse
38:49or the small
38:50mountain
38:50the embankment
38:51yeah
38:51I think
38:51maybe
38:52it got
38:53you think
38:54it unplugged
38:55or you think
38:55it bound
38:56and broke
38:56well there's a
38:57question there
38:57there is
38:58yeah
38:59do we need to
38:59go to the
38:59CSI cam
39:00CSI cam
39:02all right
39:04so this is
39:04one of our
39:05GoPro angles
39:06wow
39:06you can really
39:06see that
39:07that's not
39:07right
39:08okay
39:08make a note
39:09okay
39:10not happy
39:12oh crevasse
39:13what
39:13oh that's me
39:14oh my gosh
39:16that's a hundred
39:16accelerate
39:17wow

39:35look at the
39:35look at that
39:36oh my gosh
39:37one more time
39:38it's hitting right
39:39there too
39:39that sparks
39:40okay hang on
39:41one more time
39:41do it
39:42do it
39:42do it
39:43do it
39:43this thing is a
39:441966 sawzall
39:46that is a good
39:47break right there
39:47look at the
39:48drive shaft
39:49just bouncing along
39:50and then right
39:50there it left
39:51the chat
39:51okay
39:52there is a lot
39:53of movement
39:54on the
39:54the rear end
39:56it's like this
39:57it's just
39:57back and forth
39:58in its defense
39:59these are
39:59it was aggressive
40:01aggressive
40:01in its defense
40:03these are the
40:04leaf springs
40:04from 1966
40:05pinion angle
40:06and things like
40:07that aside
40:08nothing's gonna
40:09survive that
40:10nothing
40:10no
40:11nothing at all
40:11yeah
40:11I'd say that's it
40:12for this episode
40:13with this truck
40:13I'll guarantee you
40:15that's it for this
40:15drive shaft
40:16it is it
40:17for right now
40:18while we might
40:18be able to fix it
40:20here we do not
40:20have the time
40:21or the parts
40:22to do all of that
40:23however
40:23I think we have
40:24the parts
40:25we do have parts
40:26they're just attached
40:26out of the cars
40:27with that said
40:28that means that
40:28we are not done
40:29with this event
40:30but we are done
40:31with this episode
40:31yes
40:32we will bring
40:33our cars out
40:34you have your
40:34Chevelle
40:35I have my
40:35Camaro
40:35yep
40:36well this poor
40:37truck is going
40:38to park it
40:38for now
40:39but I can say
40:39the stuff
40:40that we did
40:40do on it
40:41was nice stuff
40:42it all held up
40:43absolutely
40:43the only thing
40:44that broke
40:44was stuff
40:45that was attached
40:46to an antiquated
40:47leaf spring setup
40:47I believe we have
40:48big plans
40:49for this truck
40:49oh yeah
40:50I mean it doesn't
40:50life does not
40:51stop here
40:52it rather starts
40:53here
40:53this gives us
40:53a perfect excuse
40:54to take it back
40:55in and do
40:56all kinds of upgrades
40:57including
40:57I know we have
40:58an Hemi
40:59sitting in the warehouse
41:00ready for it
41:01seriously a Hemi
41:01okay
41:02no like Gen 3
41:03but yes
41:03tell me there's
41:04a suspension
41:04and rear differential
41:05in there
41:06it may be a new
41:06drive shaft
41:07let's do that
41:07let's do all of that
41:08yes please
41:09and then while we're
41:09at it
41:10we can actually
41:10put a real
41:11bed in the back
41:12of the truck
41:13I like that
41:14I do not
41:15we're putting
41:17a bed in it
41:18we have a couple
41:18people to thank
41:19because we do
41:20have some really
41:21good parts
41:22on this truck
41:22we do
41:23talk about the
41:24suspension
41:24QA1
41:25as always
41:26knocks it out
41:26of the park
41:27with a killer
41:28for the most part
41:29bolting kit
41:29totally changed
41:30the front suspension
41:31everything is new
41:32rack and pinion
41:32it's amazing
41:33and then stopping
41:34did you see me stopping
41:35like a professional
41:35race car driver
41:36oh those brakes
41:37Willwood
41:37as always
41:38also knocked it
41:39out of the park
41:40you had the suspension
41:41for the corners
41:42you had the brakes
41:43for the stopping
41:43and then I was
41:44lightning shifting
41:45well I only got
41:46second gear
41:46but still
41:47I did it really fast
41:48American powertrain

41:50transmission
41:51worked great
41:52we always thank Holly

41:54however
41:55we have wheels
41:56yes you heard me
41:57wheels from Holly
41:58wrapped in toyota tires
42:00that pretty much
42:01got every component
42:03of the truck covered
42:04except I think
42:05at some point
42:05we're gonna have to
42:06find somebody to thank
42:07for that rear end
42:07because that
42:08needs an upgrade
42:09absolutely
42:10we need a differential
