00:00This is our Super Bowl. We're ready to go and we're happy to serve the people
00:03during peak season. Employees at the United States Postal Service have their
00:09game faces on. With 88 million packages expected this holiday season, the art of
00:14the package delivery has become a team sport. If you're going to ship something
00:19in a repurposed box, make sure you take all the markings and labels and decals
00:24off that are not ours so that those barcodes don't mix with our system and
00:29cause your package to loop around a facility. That includes markings like
00:34hazardous or fragile. You take that off because if we can't identify that it has
00:40clear our over-the-window process, then we're gonna have to pull that out too.
00:45Once they pass the test, everything shuffles through high output package
00:49sorters, which push the packages along conveyor belts. Building processes around
00:5430,000 packages an hour. Each machine is capable of processing about 10,000
01:00packages an hour. With so many packages, it's no surprise that postal officials
01:04continue the familiar holiday plea. Ship early, ship early, ship early. I can't
01:10say that enough. For Straight Arrow News, I'm Diane Duenas.
