03:39driver yes yeah it should be authorized yeah he's still failing to stop he did look back at me so
03:47he's very much aware of my presence a lot of the time with drink drivers even when you put the blue
03:52lights and sirens on if they're that drunk they won't even notice that you're trying to stop them
03:56vehicles now excess speed driving back into the estate it's now left left left still low risk

04:24tons worth of metal down residential streets you don't know what he's going to do i don't even
04:28think he knows what he's going to do he needs to be stopped before he's involved in some horrendous
04:33collision standby i'm just trying to make some ground on the vehicle it's got ahead of me

08:14he's definitely gonna have to go to hospital yeah
08:15he's got a lot of luck on his side
08:19i think the fact that what he'd crashed into has saved him
08:22that transit folding up the way it did has brought all the speed out of the crash
08:26had he have crashed into the wall the telegraph pole
08:29any of the other cars that were parked on that street or a house
08:32we're potentially looking at a fatal collision
08:34that transit has literally saved his life
08:36are you happy to provide me with a breath test
08:40yeah
08:40yeah all good
08:41all you need to do is put your lips around the tube

09:15show me him get on the floor
09:17get on the floor now
09:18and more chaos on derbyshire's roads
09:21absolutely stupid
09:23i was panicking
09:39it's a crash crash crash crash crash crash
09:42eight days before christmas
09:44during a crackdown on drink and drug driving
09:47traffic cop steward smith is dealing with an emergency
09:50after a fleeing driver crashed

10:09yeah all good
10:11blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
10:14keep going and stop
10:14thank you
10:15okay so you've failed the roadside breath test
10:19so you're over the drink drive limit which is 35
10:22so you're further under arrest
10:24on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit
10:27for the road traffic act
10:29drink driving
10:30you're under arrest for drink driving
10:31okay
10:33do you understand that
10:35we need the paramedics to have a look at you
10:37and then we'll eventually we'll need to take you to custody
10:39come on then stand up again
10:41yeah yeah
10:42because we need to check your head
10:44you had a bunch of head
10:45well let's see what the par
10:46yeah i'm not happy
10:47your car's in pieces
10:49you don't think you've been in an accident
10:53you have
10:54a big one
10:56your car was on fire
10:58do you know where you are
11:00no
11:01no
11:01oh
11:03it'll all become clear in the morning
11:05being drunk and slurred speech and confused
11:09can quite easily come about from a head injury
11:11but he had nothing really apparent
11:13with the level of intrusion in the car
11:16i've more come to the conclusion
11:17it was through drink rather than a head injury
11:19with the driver going to hospital for a checkover
11:25before being transported to police custody
11:27sergeant mark gould arrives to help with the clear up
11:30how you doing all right
11:33oh my god because broadband will be off over christmas
11:35oh no
11:36can't be having that
11:38well he's come round at quite a speed hasn't he
11:44considering it started off as like a really slow pursuit
11:48then obviously decided to go for it
11:51but as is usually the case
11:53ran out of skill didn't he
11:54they're not particularly worried about him
11:58they've had his arms in air
12:00he's got a couple of like bruises or lumps
12:02that are probably going to come up a bit worse
12:04his bullseye had the window
12:05because he weren't wearing a seatbelt
12:07and he was head down at footwell
12:10at passenger side when i got to him
12:12unconscious i was like
12:13cart's caught fire then i've had to worry about getting a car
12:17did you pull him out of the car
12:18no he woke up and he walked out himself
12:20what a nightmare
12:23let's have a quick nosey at this
12:27that's why i couldn't stop look
12:29got a whiskey bottle under brake pedal
12:32well vodka or whatever that is
12:35vodka
12:36yeah that's proper strong
12:37you can tell i don't drink can't you
12:39wow wow wow
12:44unbelievable
12:45it could be that it was literally drinking and driving
12:49the fact that it's in the footwell
12:51it's pretty poor really
12:53it's
12:54it's worst case scenario isn't it
12:56somebody who's as drunk as that
12:57still drinking
12:58continuing to drive around
12:59this is dangerous for everybody
13:02what's happening with this um
13:04post
13:05yeah uh highways i guess
13:07is it highways
13:09here
13:10i don't know
13:11is it like a communications company
13:13well it's a phone line isn't it
13:15yeah
13:16and i don't even know
13:17whether internet would be off that as well
13:19can we get the necessary people out for the telegraph pole
13:21it'd be wow i'll be wording it
13:22n8 tango c3
13:23i think that people don't realize how much carnage they create
13:28i mean it's not just one officer dealing with a car and
13:31arranging for a tow truck to come and collect it
13:33there was three cars destroyed
13:35telegraph poles
13:37we've had to get emergency services
13:39we've had fire engines out
13:41ambulance crews
13:42over a 10 officers present
13:45because we're having to close the road
13:46and then you're having the
13:48your telecoms agency's having to come out
13:51and make lamp posts and telegraph poles safe
13:54because we've got electrical wires hanging out
13:55the manpower and cost involved
13:58is huge
14:00it's an absolute nightmare when these things happen
14:03yeah i reckon we could do this
14:07look
14:09yeah
14:11to me to you
14:13i mean i'm not saying that
14:15i mean it's at the moment it's just kind of pivoting

14:33right let's get recovery for the audi as well
14:38well i saved his mirror
14:41well i think we're pretty much done for
14:44it is awful that other people's cars have been damaged
14:47all these cars apart from one it's certainly going to be a write-off
14:50bit of a mess
14:53because none of his documents are in order
14:56he is a high-risk road user
14:58it's a full house really
15:00no license no insurance
15:01completely drunk
15:02shouldn't be on the road
15:04it's drink driving this is a result
15:07drive in excess of the speed limit
15:11under the influence of alcohol
15:12you can have a collision in quite a severe one
15:15like this one
15:15it's a messy job
15:17it's lucky to be alive
15:19with the christmas crackdown continuing the first two weekends of the campaign have already
15:35led to more than 70 arrests
15:37have a look at this car
15:40it's just zipping about a bit
15:43excess speed
15:45really coming out of the city centre
15:47it's a bit of a strange route it's going
15:50traffic cop jack presland is another officer taking part in the operation
15:55drink drivers and drug drivers are dangerous they kill people mainly kill other people they don't think about anybody else other than getting home getting into the warmth it's just a lottery for them they get home if they don't they're going to either come to the cells or potentially go into hospital
16:13it's extremely dangerous because one day they will end their life or end their own life
16:20something is telling you to stop that vehicle and the good old saying is copper's nose follow it and you'll get a result
16:39vehicle is failing to stop

19:18with more than 70 arrests already made during the first two weekends of a Christmas crackdown on drivers over the limit
19:24it. Got one detained, he's pulled over, there's a passenger also. Derbyshire traffic cop Jack
19:32Pressland has caught up with a fail to stop driver after a dangerous pursuit across the
19:37city. Get in there, you're under arrest, dangerous drive, failed to stop the police. What was
19:44that about? Panicking, I don't know what happened to you, I don't know, I was panicking, I don't
19:49know what's happened. No, absolutely stupid. I was panicking. Is it your car? Yeah. Got
20:00out on you shouldn't have. He's failed to stop and took me on a dangerous pursuit, I'm not
20:07a happy chappy, he's put my life at risk as well as other people. Can I sit up, my arm's
20:13hurting. You can stay like that mate, if you just drive like that you can sit there. He
20:17says he's just panicked and then failed to stop. And there's clearly more to it than
20:22just panicking to take us around Derby for five minutes or so, so we'll drug swipe him,
20:27breathalise him and we'll go from there. You had a drink tonight? Got a lot of cash on you
20:34mate. Are you alright just to take him down to custody for us? And then I'll follow you
20:41down. Jump out mate, you're going in this car. Because you've committed a moving traffic
20:45fence and the manner you're driving, I'm going to require you to provide me specimen breath
20:48for analysis, okay? Blow on that mate until I tell you to stop. Stop. Right, that's zero.
20:59Two more. I'm also going to require you to provide me a specimen of saliva for the purpose
21:03of a roadside drugs test. Are you willing to provide a specimen of saliva? Yeah. Good
21:07man. Stick your tongue out. Open wider. Thank you. This takes eight minutes but we'll go to
21:19custody. So that goes flat and then we'll test it and go from there, okay? Right, jump in
21:26this car. I want to watch it. You're not watching it? Mate, you're not in charge in
21:30this situation. You've just drove like an absolute clan. Now get in the car and do
21:34as you're told. I don't think he understood fully what offences he was looking at being
21:42prosecuted for and how dangerous the situation was. He's tested positive for cannabis, so
21:58when he gets to custody, he'll get locked up for over the prescribed limit for cannabis
22:02and we'll go and take some bloods for him. So intelligence is a massive key. It's that
22:17missing piece now that we've got of as he failed to stop, has he got drugs on him? Why?
22:22What's in this car? What's he got on him? Let's game search. We've got the grounds now.
22:28So there's intel on who we think the driver is, that he could be involved in the supply
22:33of Class A drugs and drugs around the Derby area. So we find a quantity of cash in the
22:39car, mobile phone, so it might be that he gets further locked up in interview concerning
22:44the supply of Class A drugs. Jack arrives at police custody to process the suspect.
22:53As well as giving a blood sample to confirm if he is over the drug driving limit, the man
23:14also faces questions about the drug intelligence and the cash found on him. The stop is a massive
23:21result for the drink drive and drug drive campaign that we've got. It's potentially a drug dealer
23:26off the street. We've took his cash off him. We've disrupted him. And now, hopefully, once
23:30we get the bloods back and the driving offences, he'll lose his licence.
23:34If I have got any traffic units in the area, we have got reports of this male, he's going
23:49to be drink driving. He is believed to be leaving shortly, if anyone can make the way.
23:53With only two more weekends before Christmas, a total of 140 arrests have now been made during
24:00a crackdown on drink and drug drivers. I just had a call-in about a possible drink driver,
24:07so we're just trying to catch up with it now. Only just left the hotel.
24:15Near Chesterfield, traffic cop Paddy Shambrook is acting on a tip-off from a member of the public.
24:21White Kia Niro.
24:28Almost every force, and certainly Derbyshire, we will run a drink drive campaign in the
24:33run-up to Christmas. One, three.
24:38And that's not just by chance. That is just because, statistically, the volume of drink drivers
24:44that we deal with, unfortunately, increases even further around the lead-up to that holiday period.
24:50And people just don't seem to learn.
24:55We're just seeing if we can catch up with it. It may possibly have gone this way.
25:03What's this?
25:04Here.
25:05He's all over the road. Anyone else nearby?
25:23Pretty bad. I'll just put a follow-me on, see if I come into this next parking.
25:31I thought it was going to hit me.
25:35I think I'll stop.
25:36Hey, boss.
25:37Are you alright? Slippin' door, mate.
25:38Sorry, boss.
25:39Right.
25:40You're all over the place there, aren't you?
25:41I'm all over, yes.
25:42Yeah.
25:43At the moment, at the moment, you're under arrest on suspicion of driving whilst unfit.
25:49You're weaving all over the road there.
25:53Oh, what, sorry?
25:56Yeah, you're funny.
25:57Right, put that go of that.
25:58I don't need that anymore.
26:00Yeah, and a mailing cuffs.
26:01I've got someone just joining me so I can breathalyze them.
26:06All we're going to do, mate, is we'll just do a breathalyzer with you in a minute.
26:09My colleague's coming.
26:10Okay.
26:11When was your last alcoholic drink today?
26:14What time do you know?
26:18Well, what does it say on your car? I don't know.
26:21About two hours ago.
26:22About two hours ago.
26:23About two hours ago.
26:24All right.
26:25Okay.
26:26Is it your car?
26:27Company car.
26:28Company car.
26:29Right, okay.
26:30Have you got a driving licence?
26:31Yes.
26:32All right.
26:33Have you got it with you?
26:34It's got my licence, yeah.
26:36Right.
26:37Okay.
26:39All right.
26:41My breath box is just in my door pocket there.
26:44Yeah.
26:45Yeah.
26:48Obviously, as you go into the holiday seasons, like Christmas, when people just are partying
26:54more, people are still choosing to make that terrible decision to mix excessive drinking
27:00with driving.
27:03I have reason to suspect you've been drinking.
27:05You've been swerving all over the road.
27:06I require you to provide a roadside sample of breath.
27:09Are you willing to provide one?
27:10Yes, but I'll be swerving.
27:13Right.
27:14Okay.
27:15You almost went into the back of me.
27:16All right.
27:17So just seal your lips around there and give us a good blow.
27:23Blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, blow.
27:25Right.
27:26That's it.
27:27That's it.
27:28So.
27:32So there's a fail, so.
27:33All right.
27:34So at this time, you're under arrest on suspicion of drink driving.
27:36Okay.
27:37All right.
27:38So.
27:39I think every drink driver who's in prison for the consequences of their drink driving,
27:44having been involved in a collision, at some point will have thought, I'm fine.
27:49I can handle this.
27:50And is now just simply contributing to being a statistic.
27:54Okay.
27:55Paddy takes the suspect into custody for an evidential breath test.
28:10It's not too far.
28:12She's got to go down the motorway.
28:14It's the closest one we can get you to and get you on the machines.
28:18All right.
28:19So what is the way you're driving, boss?
28:21The way I'm driving?
28:22Yeah.
28:23Okay.
28:24No concerns from anybody.
28:26Me?
28:27Yeah.
28:28You're not driving properly then.
28:31So you explain to me now what you've arrested me for.
28:36Yeah.
28:37Drink driving.
28:38And the way you were driving.
28:39Yeah.
28:40I'm searching and drink driving.
28:41Yeah.
28:42I have got lights on.
28:43You haven't?
28:44There's no lights on.
28:45You do over 30 mile an hour.
28:49Yeah.
28:50Which will I be, I will be telling the sergeant.
28:54That's fine.
28:55Yeah.
28:56You tell him.
28:57Yeah.
28:58But you will not do the job efficiently.
28:59I will start driving properly.
29:01I will follow up on it.
29:03I want everything I'm saying.
29:06Toad it.
29:07Okay.
29:08So he's got a lot to say for himself,
29:10including some criticism of my driving,
29:13which is interesting coming from the state that he's in.
29:17But I've got a job to do.
29:18I've got to get him into custody safely.
29:21I've passed that test from the area.
29:24I've just been decided to take him to.
29:28No, the breath roadside test had failed, so.
29:32Yeah.
29:33Yeah.
29:34At that point you were over the legal limit,
29:35but we need to see what the machine in custody says.
29:38Just go on a machine.
29:39When I broke it out, yeah.
29:40Yeah.
29:41I laughed in my face.
29:42Okay.
29:43I don't take it personally.
29:58I'm ruining his night,
29:59but obviously he's put himself in that situation,
30:01and he's going to try and lash out any way he can.
30:05Do you know what I think of?
30:07Yeah.
30:11We started off really well.
30:12Yeah, we did.
30:13And now I'm getting insults for some reason.
30:16For some reason.
30:18I don't tend to rise up
30:20and start trying to have arguments with people.
30:24It's Paddy here.
30:25We've just got a drink driver in the dock.
30:27When you're ready.
30:28Right.
30:29You know it.
30:30You know it, boss.
30:31Are you going to get out?
30:33Yeah, let's jump out.
30:34I'll get out, boss, bro.
30:37All right.
30:38Fine.
30:39Right.
30:40Oh, what up, mate?
30:41Let's close this door.
30:42Oh, jeez.
30:43Are you all right?
30:44You're good.
30:45You're sound, mate.
30:46You're sound.
30:47It's all right.
30:48I don't take it personally, mate.
30:49It's all right.
30:50All right.
30:51It's fine.
30:52All right.
30:53Oh, what up, mate?
30:54Let's close this door.
30:55Oh, jeez.
30:56Are you all right?
30:57You're good.
30:58I'm sorry.
30:59I know.
31:00We've apologised now.
31:01We're a bit up and down, so...
31:02Sergeant, I've had some information that the male of this particular car might be under
31:11the influence of alcohol.
31:13I've caused the vehicle to stop with my blue lights.
31:17And then we've done a roadside breath test procedure, which has come up as a fail on the
31:24device.
31:25It's not given a number.
31:26But let's not jump ahead.
31:27We haven't got a result yet.
31:28Hey, fella.
31:29Do you want to speak to a solicitor?
31:30Come on.
31:31Do you want to speak to a solicitor?
31:32Come on.
31:33You can have a solicitor for your charge at once.
31:36Come on, mate.
31:37Relax.
31:38Come on, solicitor.
31:39Just get on work.
31:41We don't like drink drivers.
31:42We don't like drug drivers.
31:43We don't like drug drivers.
31:44It's a completely and utterly selfish thing to do.
31:47And it's extremely frustrating how often we see it.
31:50And obviously the build-up's Christmas now.
31:51You know, there's that temptation more and more and more to do it.
31:54And we don't like it.
31:55From there, it says 84.
31:5674.
31:57So is that double what?
31:58That's double the limit.
31:59So what does 74 mean, boss?
32:0135 and 35 is 70, isn't it?
32:02So it's just over double the drink driver limit.
32:03Yeah, 70.
32:04Just very grateful to have him off the road because that dual carriageway, doing a decent speed,
32:17and just weaving all over the road and across the lanes.
32:21Can't believe he didn't have a crash before we've got to him.
32:28Just frightening.
32:29Just frightening.
32:30Coming up.
32:35Bingo.
32:36Contact, contact on this drink driver's just moved off.
32:39A drink driver with a big problem.
32:42I can smell alcohol on your breath.
32:43You look dazed and you've got alcohol in your car, okay?
32:45The gentleman's clearly got a few issues.
33:00We've had an activation for potential DIC.
33:05We've got intel on the vehicle stating this driver regularly drink drives.
33:10As part of the Christmas crackdown, traffic cop Jack Pressland and his colleagues have arrested around 200 drink or drug drivers over three weekends.
33:20We've just had a report of a drink driver.
33:23So we'll make our way down there, see if he's still present, and then if he's not, we'll go towards the home address and see if they're making their way back.
33:30I know of people who think they're a better driver once they've had three, four pints. Unfortunately, they're not. Their reactions are slower.
33:39They're potentially going to kill someone one day. It's only a matter of time. I think they just need to wake up a little bit and realise that they can't do it anymore.
33:51I think people just chance to look until they get caught. They're going to get caught one day. They're either going to get caught when they crash or they write the car off. It's just not worth it.
34:05The suspect has reportedly bought alcohol and is now drinking it in his car.
34:10For a Volvo. There he is. It's parked up there.
34:19I couldn't see anyone in the car, so we'll give it a little bit and then we'll go and have a look. Might be topping up.
34:28With no sighting of anyone in the car, Jack calls the person who reported the drink driver.
34:35Hello?
34:37Hiya mate, it's PC Preston from Derbyshire Road's police unit.
34:40You alright, Volvo?
34:41Hiya mate. That Volvo's still parked up, isn't it?
34:44Yes it is. He's in there now.
34:46He's in his car, is he?
34:47Yeah, he is. All windows are fogged up in there.
34:50I'll warn you, sometimes he doesn't leave till 10 o'clock at night mate. He sits there drinking all that time.
34:58Right. So, is it a case that he buys his drink from Co-op and then just sits there and drinks and drives off?
35:05He'll sit there for hours, 3-4 hours, always having drinks and then he'll talk to the passenger seat.
35:12Yeah.
35:13That's about all you can see.
35:15And then he'll often drive off, park outside the pub opposite and go to the chip shop or just go straight home.
35:23He actually right now looks like he's passed out in the driver's seat.
35:28Right, leave it with me. Cheers mate.
35:31Take care mate.
35:32Right.
35:33I'd rather be out there being proactive.
35:36Sometimes that's part of the parcel of the job.
35:38You've got to do it and the rewards when you do get a result is brilliant.
35:44What's that?
35:45Bingo.
35:49NA 1040.
35:54Contact, contact on this drink driver.
35:58Try and put compliance stopping shortly.
36:29Mate, turn your engine off.
36:33That's your key.
36:35Jump out of your car, come and take a seat in mine.
36:39You had a drink mate?
36:42Come and take a seat in my car.
36:43Got out on you shouldn't have.
36:45Oh.
36:47Take a seat in there for us fella.
36:48An 81040.
36:49I've got the mail stopped.
36:50OK.
36:51Reason I've stopped you fella.
36:52Yep.
36:53Yep.
36:54I've had information and intelligence to suggest that you might be over the drink drive limit.
37:06OK.
37:07So, because of that, if you smell alcohol on your breath, you look dazed and you've got alcohol in your car.
37:21OK.
37:22I'm going to require you to provide me a specimen breath for analysis.
37:26OK.
37:27Yep.
37:28Lovely.
37:34Is it your car fella?
37:35Yep.
37:36Good man.
37:37OK.
37:38It's like blowing up a balloon.
37:39I'll hold the machine.
37:40Just keep blowing until I tell you to stop.
37:42Keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going.
37:44Stop.
37:45That's it.
37:46So what this does, it analyses how much alcohol is in your breath.
37:51Have you had quite a lot?
37:52I can smell it on you.
37:53Enough.
37:55She failed, OK.
37:56You've blown 89.
37:57The legal limit being 35.
37:59So you are under arrest for providing a positive roadside breath sample, drink driving.
38:03So he's blowing quite a lot over.
38:05It's annoying.
38:06It's frustrating.
38:07We've all got to abide by the rules and the laws.
38:11Have you been arrested for drink driving or anything before, mate?
38:15No.
38:16No.
38:17OK.
38:18So what happens now?
38:19Take you down to Derby Custody and an evidential breath machine.
38:21That's where your reading matters, OK?
38:24Bear with me.
38:30So, as you can see, the gentleman's clearly got a few issues.
38:36There's Skull, Carlsberg, special brew.
38:40Clear signs of an alcoholic.
38:42Someone's going to need some help.
38:44He's clearly living at his car, drinking himself and then sleeping and eating KFC.
38:50It's cheap, strong lager, which telltale signs that most alcoholics go for because it's cheap and gets them drunk quicker.
39:02Alcoholics who continue to drive, you know you've got an issue, you know you're unwell.
39:07So why take that risk and hurt somebody else other than yourself?
39:11You're already hurting yourself by drinking.
39:13Get the help.
39:14Try and stop, but just don't drink and drive.
39:17Because I'm transporting you on your own, just step out to the door, mate.
39:20I'm just going to pack you down, OK?
39:21Make sure you've got nothing on you that you shouldn't have.
39:23I don't intend to put handcuffs on you.
39:25No, it's fine.
39:26You're going to be sparring with me?
39:27No worries.
39:28You've got no sharp syrup like that, have you, mate?
39:32Struggling at the minute, mate?
39:33Yes.
39:34Fair enough.
39:35Totally.
39:37Try and get you some help for it.
39:38I can't even, I can't even.
39:40I've seen the amount of cans that's in your car, it's worrying, isn't it?
39:44Spin round for us, buddy.
39:49Lovely, mate. You're going to be bob on, aren't you?
39:51Jump in, buddy. Put your seat belt on for me.
39:58Mate, if you're struggling at the minute, we'll get you some help, yeah?
40:04I'll put you some referrals in, whatever I can do.
40:10Drink drivers repeat themselves constantly.
40:13They'll get away with it or try and get away with it daily.
40:17Once they've been caught, they might have stopped for a bit,
40:20but it's that addiction, they're always going to go back to it.
40:28Come on, fella. Let's go and get it sorted.
40:32Let's just walk to that gate, mate.
40:41Hey, Jack, you're a drink driver.
40:43Just come in and take a seat at that bench for us, mate.
40:45He's got his own issues, which we'll try and address and get him some help.
41:00We've got a duty of care other than prosecuting people,
41:03but at the end of the day, he could have killed someone tonight,
41:06so he's got to protect himself as well as other people protecting them.
41:11On average, 3,000 people are killed or seriously injured each year
41:16as a result of drink driving.
41:21Personally, it makes you feel angry, frustrated.
41:24You should see his car.
41:26The front of it is just covered in cans.
41:30You want to tell them your true feelings, but you've got a job to do,
41:33you've got to remain professional,
41:34and the main outcome is to get them to court, get them prosecuted,
41:38get them disqualified and get them off the road.
41:41They're out there. They're out there to be caught.
41:43I'm always going to try and capture drink drivers
41:45if I know there's one around.
41:48There's too many people who get killed by drink drivers,
41:50so if we can stop them before a collision occurs,
41:53I'll put that down to a win.
41:55That false sense of security that people maybe build up themselves
41:59because they've got away with drink driving once
42:02doesn't mean the next day that if they're drink driving
42:05that they're going to be safe. It's not a safe situation.
42:08It's what ends up killing people.
42:11In this episode...
42:12Vehicle's now excess speed.
42:15The driver who failed to stop for Stuart Smith...
42:18It's a crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash.
42:20The driver is unconscious.
42:22...was checked over at hospital.
42:24You've been in an accident if you haven't seen notice.
42:26Have you yet? You've crashed.
42:28You've crashed.
42:29But only suffered minor injuries.
42:31So you've failed the roadside breath test.
42:33He is due to appear in court charged with no licence,
42:36no insurance and drunk and dangerous driving.
42:40If found guilty, he could face a prison sentence.
42:44Bit of a mess.
42:45Drink driving, this is a result.
42:51Through a red traffic light, nearly missed a member of public.
42:54The suspect who led officers on a dangerous high-speed pursuit...
42:57Speed increased to 7-0 in a 3-0.
43:01I've got hazard lights. Standby.
43:04...before finally pulling over...
43:06Show me hands now!
43:07Show me hands!
43:08Show me hands!
43:09Get on the floor!
43:10Get on the floor now!
43:12...was charged with failing to stop and drug driving.
43:16What was that about?
43:17He received a six-month suspended sentence and a community order
43:21and was disqualified for driving for 36 months.
43:26No action was taken for any drug-dealing offences
43:29and his cash has been returned.
43:33He's all over the road.
43:35The driver who was pulled over by Paddy Shambrook.
43:38At the moment, you're under arrest on suspicion of driving whilst unfit.
43:41You're weaving all over the road there.
43:44Pleaded not guilty to drink driving.
43:46All I can say is the way you're driving, boss.
43:49The way I'm driving.
43:51He was disqualified from driving for 20 months
43:54and received fines and costs totalling £459.
43:59Good go.
44:00Contact, contact on this drink driver's just moved off.
44:04And the suspect who was reportedly drinking in a shop car park
44:07before driving off.
44:09You got a drink, mate.
44:10I can smell alcohol on your breath.
44:11You look dazed and you've got alcohol in your car, okay?
44:13Was banned from driving for 23 months, fined
44:16and ordered to carry out unpaid work.
44:19I've seen the amount of cans that's in your car.
44:21He's worrying, isn't it?
44:23Struggling at the minute, mate.
44:25Fair enough.
44:26Try and get you some help for it.
44:28If he completes a community order
44:30which aims to help him stop drinking,
44:32his ban will be reduced.
