40:28and go straight to the bar but for those of you who don't know it here's the short version
40:34my parents were both junior hockey coaches and they were hit by a drunk driver when I was 12 years old
40:43mercifully for them they died instantly
40:47mercifully for me the St. Thomas scholarships existed
40:52I didn't have anybody else to help me
40:57had a lot of memories
40:59I had a lot of memories a love of hockey and a huge hole in my heart
41:03St. Thomas filled it with hope
41:06the hope of a new family
41:08things things weren't always easy
41:11you know they never are for anybody
41:13but
41:14in hockey I found what I was missing
41:17first at my high school
41:20then later at college
41:21and now here with the admirals
41:22and I never looked back
41:25because I never had to
41:27the family I craved
41:31the family that I needed
41:32that I still need today
41:34hockey gave it to me
41:37and St. Thomas gave me hockey
41:40so from the bottom of my heart
41:44I want to thank you all for being here tonight
41:46and for supporting this cause
41:48because it's not just a scholarship
41:49it's everything that comes with it
41:52it's a whole world
