00:00The topic of today's video is college horror stories, whether they take place on campus
00:04or in a social setting such as college bars or parties.
00:08A big part of a person's college years will be the social aspect.
00:12Your social life may drastically improve from high school to college, however many people
00:16don't realize the importance of smelling good while networking.
00:19People heavily judge you based on your scent, and smelling bad is a guaranteed way to make
00:23people not want to associate with you.

01:31My name is Chuck.
01:32I graduated from the University of California Berkeley in 2016.
01:37My college experience was perfect.
01:39I was part of a frat, I managed my studies well, and spent just the right amount of time
01:43chasing girls.
01:44I'm actually still friends with a lot of my old frat brothers, and I recently got engaged
01:49to my fiancee Rosie whom I also met at Berkeley.
01:52If you had asked me my opinion of Berkeley when I was a freshman though, I can assure you
01:56that my answer would be very, very different.
01:59What I'm about to tell you is one of the main reasons why.
02:02I was never overly ambitious in high school.
02:05The Berkeley atmosphere was extremely foreign to me, and it was weird being surrounded by so
02:09many self-proclaimed high achievers.
02:12As a freshman, I was quickly swept up into the frenzy of career development and planning
02:16the next 30 years of your life as an 18 year old.
02:20Silly, I know, but that was the nature of my school at the time.
02:23If you wanted to get any sort of offer in the business world, having a strong LinkedIn
02:27profile was a necessity.
02:29I can still remember the stress of cultivating a professional image online, as if my future
02:34hinged on which people I connected with and what skills I listed.
02:38Regardless, I checked all the boxes and began my search for a summer internship.
02:42It wasn't long before my inbox chimed with an actual meaningful message.
02:48To my genuine surprise, a prestigious business firm had reached out to me, expressing interest
02:53in my profile.
02:54It wasn't one of those bot messages either.
02:56The substance of the message indicated that this was actually a unique message designed
03:01specifically for me.
03:03I read it over like six times before finally responding, and after about a day and a brief
03:07correspondence, I was invited to a first round interview.
03:11I spent hours researching the company so I'd know what to expect come the interview, and
03:15I prepped myself with all the sample questions I could find.
03:19I soon got a message from a guy named Arman Slowinski.
03:21I'll never forget that name for as long as I live.
03:25He stated that he was to be my interviewer, and naturally, the first thing I did was do
03:29some background research on the guy.
03:32However, excitement soon gave way to puzzlement.
03:35I scoured LinkedIn for Arman's profile, expecting to glean some insight into the person
03:40I'd soon be meeting.
03:41Strangely, I found nothing.
03:44No trace of their professional footprint.
03:46No social media, nothing.
03:48I shrugged it off, attributing it to perhaps a preference for privacy or something like
03:52that.
03:54Arman and I agreed on a day and time, and he gave me the interview location.
03:58I searched it up on my phone and realized that it was some random coffee shop in Oakland.
04:03This is when I started getting confused.
04:05Why would an interview not take place in Berkeley?
04:08We had tons of coffee shops and perfect places for interviews in our college town, so I was
04:12just perplexed.
04:14The address online seemed pretty normal though, so I didn't think much of it.
04:19A day before the interview, I told my friend Riley about the situation.
04:23He was even more confused than I was, telling me that the situation seemed fishy.
04:28I agreed with him, but I figured it was worth it for the position I might be getting.
04:32He asked me how I was getting there, and I told him I was Ubering.
04:36He offered to give me a ride, as he wasn't doing anything at the time.
04:39I thanked him and took him up on his offer.
04:42Little did I know, I might not even be telling this story if he hadn't offered to drive me.
04:47It was 4 in the afternoon the next day, and Riley rolled up to my dorm.
04:51Admittedly, I was extremely nervous, and this was one of my first interviews.
04:56I got in the car, and we were off.
04:58Twenty minutes later, I told Riley to drop me off on the street, as I didn't want to
05:02be seen having a friend drop me off for an interview.
05:05I thanked him, and he offered to wait for me.
05:07I asked him if he was sure, and he smirked, pulling out a big bag of weed from inside of
05:11his dashboard.
05:13I laughed, then shut the door.
05:15I walked a couple minutes to the location and frozen my tracks.
05:19I looked up at the literal construction site in front of me.
05:23There was no coffee shop.
05:24Even stranger, this entire area wasn't residential at all.
05:28Like all of the buildings looked closed or private.
05:31Confused, I double-checked my phone and confirmed that I was in the right location.
05:35This entire block must have been recently demolished, so recently that even Google Maps
05:40hadn't updated.
05:41I pulled out my phone to call Riley, but before I could, a booming voice rang out behind me.
05:47Chuck exclaimed a deep voice.
05:50I whipped around and was met with the appearance of an absurdly tall man wearing an expensive-looking
05:55black suit.
05:56Thank God, I thought, grateful that this whole ordeal hadn't been some kind of setup.
06:01His presence was commanding, yet oddly out of place amidst the derelict surroundings.
06:06I should also note that the car he was standing next to was a matte black Bentley.
06:11He walked toward me with a confused look on his face.
06:14We shook hands, and when I asked him about the construction site, he said he was just as
06:18surprised as I was.
06:20He furrowed his eyebrows and put his hand on his chin.
06:23He said, you know what, why don't we find someplace else, get in, he said, motioning
06:27towards the Bentley.
06:28He walked back to the car and shouted over his shoulder, shotgun's all yours.
06:33Without another word, he got in the front seat and shut the door.
06:36Excitedly, I followed.
06:38I walked around the car just to admire it a little, and couldn't help but glance into
06:42the back seat.
06:43I expected to see the beautiful leather seats that you would expect in a Bentley, but instead,
06:48my eyes met a sight that sent a chill down my spine.
06:52Lying flat on the ground, obscured by the shadows, was a man.
06:56In his hand, he held something long and metal.
06:59Panic surged within me, my mind racing with the implications of what lay before me.
07:04This was a trap.
07:06I turned away from the car and ran as fast as I had ever run before.
07:10I heard the man yell my name from behind me, but I didn't even turn around to look.
07:14As I ran, I heard the one sound I was dreading, screeching tires.
07:19I shot a glance over my shoulder and saw the car turning around, pointing in my direction.
07:24I had to think quickly.
07:26There was no way I was going to outrun a car.
07:28It wasn't like I could just escape the situation.
07:31There wasn't really any open space around me, just an endless maze of streets.
07:36I could feel the terror coursing through my veins.
07:39I made it to the next intersection and faced a choice that may have decided my fate, left
07:43or right.
07:45Logic told me to just turn left as it was closer, but my feet chose for me before my
07:49brain could.
07:50I sprinted across the street to the right and darted down the road.
07:54I knew I didn't have long, 10, maybe 20 seconds at most.
07:59As if by some miracle, one of the buildings in front of me had a fire escape that looked
08:02just low enough to jump onto.
08:05With every ounce of my strength I had, I vaulted myself upwards, grabbing onto the ladder.
08:10I had never done a pull up in my life, but in my mind, this was life or death.
08:14I made it up the ladder and kept climbing.
08:17The Bentley whipped around the corner and stopped on the street in front of the building.
08:21I couldn't see the driver, but I knew he was looking at me.
08:24There was nothing else I could do.
08:26If they chose to follow me, I'd just have to fight.
08:29The next minute felt like an eternity.
08:32The car stood there a little while longer and then accelerated down the street, turning
08:35left to never be seen again.
08:37I couldn't breathe.
08:38I pulled out my phone and called Riley, basically screaming into the phone about what happened.
08:44I stayed on the fire escape until he found me.
08:47I got in the car and we sped off in silence.
08:50The aftermath of this whole thing was pretty uneventful.
08:53I sort of blocked it out of my brain and refused to talk about it, even with Riley.
08:58As far as I was concerned, it never happened.
09:01But as much as I tried, there are times, like right now, when I can't help but recall every
09:05horrifying detail of what could have been the last day of my life.
09:09This is a fresh story happening pretty recently.
09:22My family and I were driving to college to help me move in as I'm currently a first year
09:26student.
09:27Since we arrived, I found out that I would be living in a Jack and Jill, which means you
09:31and another room share the same bathroom.
09:34So essentially, I'd be living with three other guys.
09:37I already knew one of them in the other room.
09:39We met at orientation and got to know each other.
09:42His roommate doesn't matter for this story though.
09:44It's my roommate, Demora, who I'm going to talk about.
09:48I got his socials beforehand and we exchanged information.
09:51Prior to moving in, I tried talking to him on Instagram to get to know him better, but
09:56his replies seemed dry.
09:58On top of that, his profile seemed like one of those Discord mods that you see on Instagram
10:02reels or TikTok.
10:04Once we moved in, I met him and ironically, he looked like a Discord mod, except he had
10:09a skinny build around my height.
10:11He looked very pale and had a peach fuzz mustache.
10:14I tried talking to him again.
10:16His talking style matched his texting style and seemed very introverted.
10:20He stuttered a lot and always tried to end the conversation as quickly as possible.
10:24I tried to lighten him up by asking what kind of music he listens to, but he said he doesn't
10:29as music wouldn't fill his cup of emptiness.
10:32To make things more weird, when he set up his PS5, he immediately started gaming.
10:38It's not him gaming that's weird, it's what he does when he games.
10:42Demora makes these weird grunting noises, violently shakes his body and laughs when he
10:46spams the controller, and he puts his feet in his desk cabinet, occasionally grabbing
10:51his feet and pulling them towards his body during his shakes as well.
10:55He whispers to himself as he plays by himself or with his online friends, and he usually repeats
11:00what he whispered twice in a gigglish manner.
11:03He stays in the room 24-7 and almost never does homework.
11:07His movements alone freak me out as I'm trying to sleep, but there's more to the story.
11:12Sometime around the first week, I went out with some friends that I met in my dorm building,
11:16and I came back pretty late to my dorm around 1am.
11:20Demora looked asleep in his bed, so I nudged it off.
11:24As I went to my cabinet, which was right next to my bed, I felt my arm hairs get goosebumps
11:28and felt the urge to turn around.
11:31So I did.
11:32Demora was staring right at me with a slight grin on his face.
11:36I yelped and said, holy fuck Demora, why are you looking at me like that?
11:40He laughed it off and said, dark time, and turned around to face the wall.
11:45This creeped me out, and it happened, I want to say, three more times.
11:49I tried to move out, but my college said they didn't have any dorms open, so I tried to
11:53move into the other room, but one of the other roommates didn't want to leave as well.
11:58This meant I was stuck with Demora for the semester, and I just had to deal with it.
12:03About three months passed by, and I come back from my English class.
12:07When I opened the door to my dorm, Demora stood up in a panic, asking me why I'm back
12:11so early.
12:12This was weird, as my English class actually ended late, hence me getting back late.
12:17I asked him if he needed the room to himself, and he declined, striking some weird pose that
12:22looked like it was from some anime, and he said that I shouldn't be worried at all.
12:26I visibly cringed at him, and his statement only made me more uncomfortable.
12:31I noticed he had a box on his desk, and when I brought it up, he told me that it wasn't
12:35important.
12:37I shrugged it off.
12:38At this time, I noticed that my iPhone charger and my scissors were missing.
12:43I asked Demora if he saw it, and he said he had it.
12:47He handed me the scissors, and as he was handing me the iPhone charger, the cable knocked his
12:51box over to me as well.
12:53The box opened, and what I saw made my heart sink.
12:57A sticky note that had my name on it fell out.
13:00Alongside this was what looked to be a see-through case.
13:04Inside of it, eyelashes, a pair of glasses, a pair of my socks, and a disposable photo of
13:09me that I took as a joke.
13:11He collected all of it up off the floor as he tried explaining the meaning of it, and
13:15I yelled at him to get out.
13:17He left immediately.
13:18I texted my RA the situation, and he told me that he was out at the moment, but when he
13:22comes back tomorrow, to show him the box as evidence so that they would have a reason
13:26to kick Demora out.
13:28So I got the box, and hid it within my laundry bin.
13:31I felt really rattled, and the sight of my roommate disgusted me.
13:35However, in an hour, he came back.
13:38I just told him to stay on his side and not to talk to me.
13:42After that, no words were spoken.
13:44I tried to stay awake, out of fear that he might try to find the box, but after it being
13:48a long day, I fell asleep around 2am.
13:52When I woke up, I saw Demora was gone, and it felt good seeing him out of the room for
13:56once, but then I remembered the box.
13:58I went to my laundry bin, and it was gone.
14:02I panicked, and not long after, my RA was knocking on the door.
14:07I let him in, and told him the story.
14:09While he did believe me, he said he can't do anything without that box, otherwise he'd
14:13just be going off my word alone, which isn't much.
14:16I felt like I was losing my mind.
14:19The RA left, and about 5 hours later, Demora came back.
14:22I asked him what he did with the box.
14:25He played dumb and said, what box, I don't know what you're talking about.
14:29I pressured him to stop playing dumb, but Demora kept denying it.
14:33I couldn't stand, look, nor be in the same room with him anymore.
14:37It's now second semester, and yes, I'm still dorming with Demora, unfortunately.
14:42He did let me know that he will never do it again, and that if he does, he'll let me know,
14:46and will move out immediately.
14:49I took his word, and we're still dorming as of today.
14:52However I stay out of the room as much as I can, he still creeps me out, and the worst
14:56part is that I can't sleep sometimes, nor focus during the day, as I keep thinking of
15:01what was in the box.
15:03Why did he steal my photo?
15:04Why did he steal my socks?
15:06What were the glasses for?
15:08The part that leaves me scared each time is what those eyelashes were doing there, and
15:12perhaps weirdest of all was he labeled the box with my name.
15:25This happened to me during my freshman year of college in 2019.
15:29I'm graduated now, but I often think about it.
15:33During Halloween week, my college had crazy parties daily.
15:36I attended a Big Ten school, so there are always fraternity costume parties, and even
15:40the bars make people dress up.
15:42It gets pretty wild, lots of booze, lots of police, and lots of memories.
15:47This event happened to me on the Saturday of Halloween week.
15:51Our football team had a huge win that day, and my friends and I were going to this one
15:54particular fraternity off campus to celebrate the victory.
15:58We knew about this because one of my friends, Alexandra, was dating a guy on the team.
16:02We got to the frat party around 11 o'clock.
16:05And things got pretty crazy.
16:07Everyone was getting drunk really fast, and we were all booing the school that we beat
16:11in different chants while the music blasted.
16:14I was taking shots and dancing with all my friends, having a blast.
16:18It's critical to note that my phone had died during this time.
16:21I had given it to Alexandra to put in her purse.
16:24Later, I told my friends that I had to go to the bathroom, and to wait for me by the DJ
16:28booth.
16:30We were all pretty intoxicated at this point.
16:32While I was in the bathroom peeing, I heard some frat
16:35brother in the house scream cops at the top of his lungs, and people started screaming
16:39and scrambling to get out of the house.
16:42I sprinted out of the frat house and was greeted by multiple cop cars and lights flashing.
16:47People were sprinting in different directions.
16:50Some cops were already talking to the frat brothers, while others were trying to catch underage
16:54people.
16:55In my intoxicated state, I realized I didn't have my phone.
16:59I started yelling out for my friends while avoiding the cops.
17:03Realizing I wasn't going to be able to find them in the crowd, I decided to start making
17:07my way home, even though I wasn't entirely sure how to get home.
17:11This frat house was pretty far off campus and a different part from other frats.
17:15I started making my trek home, and it was absolutely freezing.
17:20Even though it was only October, it was like 37 degrees that night.
17:24I'm still heavily tipsy, but conscious of everything around me.
17:28After a while, I knew I needed a break to warm up and hopefully sober up.
17:32I saw a building that looked like one of the academic buildings I had heard about, so I
17:36approached it, opened the door, and stepped inside.
17:40It was pretty dark in there, but a few exit signs at different door entrances illuminated
17:44a decent portion of the inside.
17:46After five minutes, I started to sober up a little bit and realized I wasn't in an academic
17:51building.
17:52I was in a warehouse.
17:54I was much warmer, but I became nervous about the eerie feeling around me.
17:59I went to open the door, and a pit sank in my stomach.
18:02It was locked.
18:04How could it have been opened if it was locked from the inside?
18:07I started to make my way towards a door near the exit sign.
18:10I pushed it open and went through the door, expecting it to lead me to outside, but it was
18:14to another part of the building.
18:17This room was much smaller, illuminated by a low red light.
18:20There was a buzzing noise in the room from some machine.
18:23I could see chains hanging from the ceiling and steam in the room.
18:26I shit you not, it was like a typical horror movie scene.
18:30I went to turn around and go back through the door, but this door was also locked behind
18:34me.
18:36Sheer panic set through me, and at this point, I was trying not to break down.
18:40I leaned up against the wall and slid down silently, crying.
18:44This is when I heard it.
18:45A door slammed shut and footsteps.
18:49I instantly went silent and my eyes widened.
18:52I heard another door shut and more footsteps.
18:55It was getting closer to my area.
18:57I saw the door next to me, and as quietly as possible, I opened it and snuck through.
19:02I started wading through the hanging chains and the steam.
19:06I heard the door from the previous room open and the footsteps approaching, and they were
19:10big, heavy footsteps.
19:12My fight or flight kicked in, and I came near a window.
19:15With all my might, I kicked it five times with my foot, shattering it.
19:19This was when I heard the feet running towards the door.
19:22I had maybe ten seconds to spare.
19:25I leapt out the window, not even realizing that the other side of the building I was now
19:28on happened to be a high drop.
19:31I fell like ten feet out of the window, landing on top of two recycling bins.
19:35I pushed myself off, shocked by the impact, and looked up at the window.
19:40It was shattered, and there was no one in the window frame.
19:43I dashed underneath some pine trees a few feet away, hiding myself in the shadows.
19:48When I looked back up, that's when I saw a figure looking out the window, looking in
19:52all directions for me.
19:54My whole body went numb in fear.
19:56As quietly as I could, I snuck across the street and ran.
20:00I ran for my life as fast as I could, for I didn't know how long until I recognized
20:05the side of campus my dorm was on.
20:07I got back to my dorm, and my friends were waiting for me outside, panicked and freaking
20:11out.
20:12They told me I had been gone for almost four hours.
20:15The following day, I told them of my experience.
20:18My friends' mouths hung open as they listened to me talk.
20:22After further discussion, I discovered that it was a building that hadn't been used in
20:25several years.
20:27The pit in my stomach hit me again.
20:29Whoever was in the building wasn't a cop.
20:31He wasn't night security.
20:33This was some random person after me.
20:36It still makes me sick to this day.
20:39If I hadn't been more quiet or thought as quickly, I could be dead.
20:43Even though I tried to find out information, nothing came up.
20:46It still remains the scariest thing that's ever happened to me.
