00:00Children can use drawing as a way of expressing feelings or emotions that they don't understand.
00:05But sometimes children simply draw what's familiar to them.
00:08So if a child is drawing pictures holding hands with strangers, there might be something
00:12more going on there.
00:14This is part three to children's drawings with disturbing backstories.
00:19Martin and his wife are the parents of two children, a six-year-old daughter, and a three-year-old
00:24son.
00:25Martin shared with me something disturbing that he and his wife had discovered recently.
00:30Their daughter, who I'll refer to as Jess, loves to draw, and so they'd give her all
00:35the art supplies she'd need to keep her quiet and entertained for hours.
00:39They have an entire Crayola backpack full of art supplies that Jess uses, filled with markers,
00:44colored pencils, crayons, and construction paper.
00:48Jess has piles of drawings in her room and even in her backpack, and most of them are
00:52normal innocent drawings.
00:54However, one day Martin found a picture in Jess's room that he was kind of confused
00:58about at first.
01:00It was a picture of some random-looking woman holding Jess's hand, but it didn't look
01:04like Martin's wife who was blonde.
01:07It was a brunette woman.
01:09Martin asked Jess who the woman was, and she said it was the woman who would visit her sometimes.
01:15Sounds like something a six-year-old with an imaginary friend would say.
01:18When Martin asked what her friend's name was, Jess said Lucia.
01:22This was immediately cause for alarm to Martin, so he went to show his wife the picture and
01:27asked his wife if it looked like her sister.
01:30At first, his wife said it looks like it could be anybody, but when Martin said her daughter
01:35said her name was Lucia, she gave Martin this telling look as if she immediately understood.
01:41Lucia was the name of Martin's wife's deceased sister, who died before either of the couple's
01:46children were born.
01:48The couple went to the daughter's room and asked Jess who exactly Lucia was.
01:53Jess again said, she visits me sometimes.
01:56Trying to get more details, the couple asked what time she usually visits, and what do they
02:01talk about?
02:02She responded something along the lines of, she visits at night sometimes when I'm drawing.
02:08Martin's wife asked Jess to draw another picture of her the next time she sees Lucia,
02:12this time with more details, and Jess agreed to do so.
02:16From now on, Martin and his wife would keep Jess's door ajar just so they could hear if
02:20Jess was talking to someone.
02:21It wasn't until a few nights later that while in the kitchen, the couple both heard Jess talking
02:27to someone in her room all of a sudden.
02:29So the two went towards the room quietly to listen to what she was saying.
02:34There were long gaps in between what Jess was saying, but she was clearly talking to
02:38someone or something that didn't appear to be there, because she seemed to be answering
02:41questions that the parents couldn't hear being asked.
02:45At one point, Jess said, they asked about you when they saw my picture of you, they want
02:49me to draw you again.
02:51Then Jess stopped talking completely, and that was when Martin and his wife entered the room
02:55and asked if she were talking to Lucia again.
02:58She nodded her head, and they asked where in the room Lucia was.
03:02Jess turned and looked around the room, then focused on the corner and said she's standing
03:07right there.
03:10Martin and his wife looked in the corner of the room, to nothing.
03:13Yet, both of them agreed they felt an uneasy feeling in the room and were extremely uncomfortable.
03:19Martin's wife said softly to Jess to draw what Lucia looks like right now, down to every
03:24last detail, and after Jess said okay mom, the couple left the room.
03:28Jess didn't speak anymore, and the parents were left feeling a little uneasy.
03:33It was a short time later that Jess called her mom back into the room, and so both Martin
03:38and his wife went back to her room, and she presented a new picture.
03:42This picture confirmed the couple's fear.
03:45This was the photo.
03:47In this new photo, with a lot more detail, Jess drew Lucia to have blue eyes, a small mole
03:53above her lip, and dressed in white.
03:56Lucia was buried in white, and had blue eyes and a small mole above her lip.
04:01Martin's wife was never close with her sister, having only attended the funeral for a short
04:05time, and so Jess had never learned of her deceased aunt yet.
04:09There were also no pictures around the house that she could have seen.
04:13Martin and his wife told Jess that they didn't want her talking to Lucia anymore.
04:17This was not because Lucia did anything particularly horrible in her life, per se, but rather that
04:22it was genuinely scaring the couple.
04:25The couple let a priest come bless the house and ask any spirits to please leave in peace.
04:30According to Martin, they haven't had to deal with any further instances.
04:34This was submitted by an art teacher from an elementary school.
04:40Twice a year with each class, the teacher would hold what she called draw and tell, which would
04:45have the children draw anything that meant something to them, and then tell the story
04:49behind it.
04:50This was with a third grade class.
04:53As most students were drawing pictures of them and their families, or pictures with their
04:56pets, or any other number of things, one boy was drawing what looked like nothing but
05:01fire.
05:02The other kids at his table were noticeably glancing over and laughing at him as he did
05:06it, and as the art teacher noticed this, she went over to the boy and asked him why he
05:10was drawing fire, he's supposed to be drawing something that means something to him.
05:15The boy said, I know, I'm not finished yet.
05:18So the teacher let the boy continue to do his thing.
05:21As the students were finishing up their drawings, the teacher came back to the boy and now noticed
05:26that the boy had added a house to the drawing.
05:29The teacher asked the boy to come with him to the hall, and she took the drawing with
05:32them.
05:33When in the hall, the teacher asked the boy why he was drawing a burning house, as this
05:37was completely inappropriate for a draw and tell.
05:41The boy replied, no it's not, this is the house my parents tried to burn down with me
05:45in it.
05:46The teacher was speechless and didn't know what to say.
05:49She kept the drawing and told him to take his seat, and told him we're not going to
05:52do the draw and tell.
05:54When they re-entered the classroom, she sat at her desk for a moment fighting back tears,
05:59and eventually announced to the class that everyone would be taking their drawings home
06:03with them instead of doing draw and tell.
06:08This one comes from another parent who wanted to remain anonymous, so all names will be made
06:12up.
06:14Brad and Jane are the parents of Molly, who was 5 at the time of this happening.
06:18Molly is a quiet and well-behaved girl according to her father, which makes this story even creepier.
06:24Brad and Jane's bedroom is right next door to Molly's.
06:27The night the strange events began is when Molly came to her parents' room, and said
06:31she's scared that something's in her closet.
06:34Brad walked her back to her room and showed her the inside of her closet, to assure her
06:38that no monsters were in there.
06:40The next night, Molly returned to her parents' room, saying there's a monster inside her
06:44closet again.
06:45This time Brad and Jane let Molly sleep with them, and then the following day, Molly drew
06:50a picture of the alleged monster she was seeing, and showed it to her parents.
06:54Brad stated the picture admittedly creeped him out, but till this point, this all just
06:59seems like normal child stuff.
07:02Until one of the next nights, when Brad and Jane woke up to Molly crying and screaming.
07:07They ran to her room to see what was wrong, and she said, I'm bleeding, as she had her
07:11shirt lifted up.
07:13On her back were what looked like two scratch marks.
07:17Molly claimed it was the monster.
07:19Brad tore the bedroom and the whole house upside down looking for anybody that could have done
07:23it.
07:24When the house proved to be empty, Brad and Jane had no choice but to assume Molly probably
07:29did it to herself somehow, either intentionally or accidentally.
07:33But as time went on, and the couple had time to think about it, the chain of events seemed
07:37too crazy to just be coincidental.
07:40While the couple had Molly ease back into sleeping alone, Molly never changed her story
07:45that the monster was the one to scratch her back.
07:48To make her feel better about sleeping alone, they moved Molly's furniture to the spare
07:52bedroom and made that one her new room.
07:55Molly came to her parents' room a couple other times in the middle of the night, but
07:59both times, when asked if she saw the monster again, she said, no, I'm just scared.
08:04Luckily no bodily harm was done to her in her sleep again.
08:10This following picture and story was submitted by Giovanna, who had found this picture on her
08:15desk in her room because she allows her seven-year-old brother to use her desk to draw on.
08:20She found it strange from the beginning that her brother would leave this on the desk in
08:24the first place because normally he would take all of his drawings with him back to his room
08:28and hide them.
08:29But since he left this one, she felt like he wanted for her to see it.
08:33Upon taking a look at it, it looked like an innocent enough family drawing done by a seven-year-old,
08:39but then tucked away in the corner is a black figure labeled The Taking Man.
08:44Giovanna left this on her desk for a couple of days before she noticed the man in the corner
08:47after looking at the drawing again.
08:50The man is on a swing, but the family doesn't have a swing set.
08:54It could just be chalked up to the child being seven, but he had never asked their parents
08:57for a swing set, nor expressed any interest in one in general.
09:02Underneath the mysterious man labeled Taking Man appears to be some object which Giovanna
09:06thought may resemble a window or some kind of door in the ground.
09:10So she went outside to go check out the lawn for any sort of door, window, anything.
09:15But there wasn't anything.
09:17A few days later while in the bathroom, which was across the hall from her brother's room,
09:21Giovanna was washing her face when she heard her brother giggling and talking.
09:26This could have just been him playing with his toys by himself, but still, after finishing
09:30up her skincare routine and rinsing off her face, Giovanna went to go check on her brother.
09:35His door was cracked open a bit, so she looked in and saw him on the ground talking to something
09:40under his bed.
09:42She quickly opened the door, and her brother got up and sat on his bed and turned his head
09:46to the TV.
09:48Upon asking him who he was talking to, he said he wasn't talking to anyone.
09:53Under the assumption he was just playing around, Giovanna went to sleep.
09:57The next morning, her brother woke up holding an empty glass asking if she could fill it with
10:02chocolate milk, and so Giovanna went downstairs to fill his glass and come back up with a
10:06couple snacks for herself.
10:08She went into her brother's room to oddly enough see him fast asleep.
10:12She woke him up and handed him the glass, and he insisted that he didn't ask for it.
10:17She knew he did though, so she didn't argue with him, and left the glass next to his bed.
10:22That night, around 4am, Giovanna woke up to hear her brother talking again.
10:27So she went across the hall to her brother's room and peeked her head inside, and the last
10:31thing she remembers is hearing her brother talking to someone, and seeing a black shadow
10:36in the room.
10:40The next thing she remembers is waking up in her bed the next morning.
10:44When confronting her brother, he denied any recollection of talking to anybody last night.
10:49When Giovanna decided to tell her parents about the drawing and what she thought she witnessed
10:53the night before, they had a talk with him, and he told them that the person in the picture
10:57is the taking man, and he takes things and brings them back.
11:01I really trust him, he's my best friend.
11:04He also gives me red berries, I think they're called cranberries.
11:07Now he won't come back.
11:10Giovanna doesn't know if what she saw in her brother's room was a dream or not, but she
11:14remembers it vividly, and says it didn't feel like a dream.
11:18And yet, if it weren't a dream, she has no recollection of what happened after she saw
11:22that shadow in her brother's room.
11:25Her little brother hasn't spoken of the taking man since.
