00:00And the two world leaders held a joint media briefing a little bit earlier today
00:04where they agreed to expand and widen India-Russia trade agreements.
00:10What did Putin and Modi get out of those Delhi meetings?
00:14What did you think was most significant?
00:17I think the most significant aspect is they avoided the difficulty in the relationship,
00:22particularly when it comes to the oil, the sanctions and the defence deals.
00:26The trade agreement has been important because very little attention had been paid by India and Russia
00:34on the potential which exists in the two countries on trade.
00:38So definitely the agreement which was signed by Russia and India on economic cooperation programme,
00:45critical mineral supply, pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding, civil nuclear energy
00:51and a whole lot of other areas which hadn't received the focus before.
00:57And I think the most important part is also the fact that they do intend to reach more than 100 billion US dollars
01:04by 2030 by following this five-year economic framework.
01:09And I think that's significant and very important.
01:12There's also this talk of having more collaboration on the defence.
01:16But for me, I think the most important part is the economics,
01:19given the fact that Russia is facing sanctions and has been squeezed by sanctions.
01:25And India has been subjected to the tariffs by the US.
01:30So definitely trade and economics has become the centrepiece, which was not there before.
