00:00It was a beatdown by the New York Knicks at the Garden tonight, 146-112.
00:04I'm Dexter Henry, joined by Stefan Bondi.
00:07Another win for the Knicks, six wins in their last seven games.
00:10Very impressive performance, but the story to start this game that was really important for Knicks and their fans
00:14was O.G. Ananobi, his return back to the lineup.
00:17You expected him to play in one of these two games over the weekend.
00:21He played today, eight points.
00:23What did you make of the performance you saw from him?
00:25You know, I thought it was an encouraging start.
00:28I think overall, though, when you look at what the starting lineup did, 23-0 to start the game.
00:34That is the most points the Knicks have scored without the opposition scoring to start a game ever,
00:40at least since they started tracking this stuff in the late 90s.
00:43So, listen, O.G. Ananobi kind of completed the lineup that I think we're going to see for the foreseeable future,
00:49which is Josh Hart now back in the lineup, O.G. Ananobi, Mikael Bridges, Jalen Brunson, Carl Anthony Towns.
00:55We saw that a lot last season under Tom Thibodeau, and I expect to see a lot more moving forward.
01:00Well, it's interesting that we got back there, right, to the starting lineup that we saw a lot of last season.
01:05Do you personally think that is the best move for the Knicks going forward with Josh Hart in the starting lineup?
01:09Does this give them the most flexibility, or do you have concerns about what they can do defensively?
01:14Yeah, I mean, listen, Deuce would be a good replacement.
01:17I mean, Deuce is playing out of his mind right now.
01:19He had another tremendous game.
01:20But Josh Hart has been great.
01:23And I think it's, you know, when you put Josh in that lineup, he's had a lot of confidence.
01:28He's a rhythm player, and he's getting more minutes.
01:31So I think it is the right move, and it's certainly been paying off since they've made that adjustment.
01:35Yeah, it's looked really good.
01:36You just mentioned Deuce McBride, 22 points tonight here off the bench, obviously, and seven three-pointers.
01:43He's been on a heater.
01:44How important is he to this team if he can provide it off the bench, especially for a bench unit that's struggling?
01:49Yeah, no Landry Shamit for the foreseeable future.
01:53And so you need guys off the bench, and McBride is now number one.
01:57He's the guy that you're going to rely on to give your team a scoring punch off the bench.
02:01He played a lot of minutes tonight because OG was on a minutes restriction.
02:05I think that Miles will play, you know, a lot of minutes moving forward, especially if he keeps shooting like this.
02:11Yeah, he's really shooting very well for the Knicks right now.
02:14Okay, so next up for the Knicks, Steph said this the other day we did a live show.
02:17We expected this one to be a laugher.
02:18It absolutely was.
02:19Now they'll play the Orlando Magic, a team that has beat the Knicks twice.
02:22They handed them their only home loss here at Madison Square Garden.
02:26How big of a test is this for the Knicks, especially before the cup game against Toronto?
02:29And what are you looking for in this matchup on Sunday?
02:31Yeah, it's a big one.
02:32I mean, Ben Carroll's coming back for the Magic.
02:35You know, Franz Wagner has killed the Knicks.
02:38The Magic are 2-0 against the Knicks.
02:41It's a big test.
02:42I think the Knicks have shown that they can beat up on the bad teams.
02:44They did it again tonight.
02:46We'll see what they do against a much better team.
02:48The Magic have been much better lately.
02:49Yeah, we'll see what they do against the Magic.
02:51They'll be looking to get a little bit of revenge.
02:53I said they're the only team that the Knicks have lost to here at Madison Square Garden this season.
02:57But a beatdown from the Knicks, 146-112 over the Utah Jazz here at Madison Square Garden.
03:02He's Stephan Boddy.
03:03I'm Dexter Henney.
03:03We'll be back with you with more on Sunday.
