00:00Previously on The Last Woodsman, you got to be kidding me.
00:15My bid for the forever claim, somebody beat me, John Muhammad.
00:19Jared strikes a costly deal to establish a foothold at the forever claim.
00:24If you've defaulted on any payment of the royalties, no questions asked, I repossessed the float camp.
00:30But with his crew now split between two camps, it's a risky balance between maximizing every
00:39last day at the float camp claim, and delivering on the lofty royalty of the forever claim.
00:49Show me the money.
00:51I only have two weeks to make sure the first log barge has a $100,000 check going to John.
00:56If I don't deliver, it's game over.
01:00John, how you doing?
01:28So yeah, Jared, I just wanted to check in with you and see how things were going.
01:32Things are going well here.
01:34Okay.
01:35Good.
01:36I'm in a bit of a rock and a hard spot.
01:38John definitely has the upper hand on me right now.
01:41But if I can get through this season and hold my end of this bargain, he will sell me the
01:48forever claim for $2 million.
01:50And that is definitely worth the risk.
01:53We're going to have that wood ready for the first log barge, no problem.
01:57I got my best crews on it.
01:59Things are happening.
02:00I've sourced out every piece of equipment that I can find.
02:03Okay.
02:04Well, I'm really glad to hear that, Jared, that it's going well and you're hitting your production
02:09targets and looking forward to that barge coming in.
02:11Okay, you have a good day.
02:20We need to pick up the pace right now.
02:22If I don't raise this $2 million, I pretty much worked a whole season for nothing.
02:28I need to just keep the push.
02:30That's my job.
02:31I'm the boss.
02:32I'm the push.
02:33We got to keep our foot on the floorboard, get that money to John Muhammad and own this
02:43claim.
02:45Two weeks in, Jared's expanded operation is splashing wood on both fronts.
02:53So far, the Forever Claim crew has harvested about 2,000 tons of big timber, putting them
02:58just on pace to deliver his first royalty.
03:02The lease on the float cam claim ends in just three weeks' time, so the crew needs
03:06to log every last bit of big timber to stand a chance of meeting his $2 million goal by
03:12winter.
03:14All the tires look good, new boards.
03:22To hit his first target at the Forever Claim, there's one more machine to haul up the mountain.
03:28Super Snorkel.
03:29Super Snorkel.
03:30It's a machine that casts down, grabs logs, and pulls them up to the road.
03:34It uses gravity to its advantage and its long boom to get the casting going on.
03:39So it's almost like fishing for logs.
03:41They're very, very productive, but they are a very big pain in the ass to move.
03:48The tow job will be a nine-mile trek uphill over some of the roughest road known for logging.
03:53And with the heavy load, they'll need to maintain momentum the whole way.
03:58It's going to be a pins and needles day.
04:01The snorkel's 140 tons, and it sticks up 135 feet in the air.
04:07I have a solid team.
04:09I got Lance, who's really good on the truck.
04:11I have Glenn that's going to be amazing on the machine, and I'm going to have to drive
04:15the push truck.
04:16We're going to have some steep slopes where we're going to need to push and pull the low
04:20bed.
04:21I need my driving boots.
04:23Okay.
04:24See if we can do this.
04:28He's a go.
04:35You have all this snorkel and lines.
04:50And cables in the air, and everything's bouncing.
04:53And we've had it almost flip off the low bed.
04:56That's the biggest danger.
04:57The last time I drove the push truck, we just about stalled on a hill like this.
05:01And if you're behind in the push truck, you're going to get hit.
05:20He's a good pusher guy.
05:21He's not scared of the throttle.
05:23It's like salmon swimming upstream.
05:39Never lose momentum.
05:41But anyone who's ever followed one of these down the road, you're on pins and needles,
05:45because it looks like it's going to topple off the low bed all day long.
05:48You got your water on, Lance?
05:49Are we dragging them?
05:50Great.
05:51You got your water on, Lance?
05:52Are we dragging them?
05:53Great.
05:54I don't know.
05:55You see something smoking there?
05:56I don't know.
05:57Do you see something smoking there?
06:03You don't know.
06:12I don't know.
06:17You see something smoking there?
06:18I don't know.
06:18You see something smoking in there?
06:33It's not good.
06:4080 miles away at the float camp claim.
06:48Hey, here we are, Jim.
06:52Our new home.
06:55Not very warm out today, is it?
06:57No, it's a little chilly than yesterday.
06:59I think we're on the backside of the northern exposure here.
07:04Might have some uphill wieners.
07:06Fallers, Jim Gardner, and Rob Winger are on a mission to find and harvest the last big end of life cycle giants.
07:14Wait, I'll be right on the other side of that other rock knob there.
07:18Okay, I can hear you from there.
07:19Oh, yeah.
07:20We'll see you at quitting time.
07:22Give me a call if you need anything.
07:24Okay, thanks, buddy.
07:26And good luck.
07:27To make the most of the remaining three weeks, they'll pivot to a new tactic.
07:36Divide and conquer.
07:44Got a big red cedar.
07:46Looks like seven, eight feet.
07:49Do a little...
07:50Yeah, that's solid.
07:56Yeah, that's pretty stellar.
08:00Yeah, it's just where we're going to want to put this is all.
08:05There's something unique about my job, and that's the fact that the terrain is very inaccessible by anything but boots on the ground.
08:15We're in the middle of nowhere.
08:17There's no roads around.
08:18It's like the Wild West.
08:20It's a different set of rules.
08:22It's keep yourself alive, common sense rules.
08:26And common sense is like deodorant.
08:28The people who need it the most don't have it or use it.
08:32We've got a rock bluff over there.
08:34When this thing lands down, it's going to smash over there.
08:37The whole top's going to shatter off, be lost over the hill, and we're only going to be left of the start segment.
08:41And even that's going to be slabbed and broken.
08:43We do not want that.
08:45We literally have one small corridor we have to shoot for.
08:53To avoid the rock bluff,
08:55Jim will aim the tree straight down the hill.
09:00But a fall that far could risk damaging it too.
09:05As a precaution, he'll also make adjustments to his face cut.
09:09I'm going to open up my undercut a bit more so that the tree is going to commit.
09:17It's going to be more 45 and committed to falling by the time it closes and disconnects from that stump.
09:23So it's going to be ultra committed to where it's going to land.
09:26On top of that, I'm just going to shave the little chin off of the front of the undercut so that this tree is going to hit the ground,
09:32the butt of it, before the top of it, which will minimize the impact to the ground and to the tree.
09:38Fingers crossed, touch wood.
09:41We can get this big tree down with this little saw.
09:43If it goes too far up the hill, it's going to be breaking and devalued and half the tree is going to be lost
09:57and we can't recover it in the first place.
09:59That's going to be the issue.
10:00That's going to be the issue.
10:30It looks like this is pretty much going to be right on, but what I'm going to do is I'm going to want to take this little bit of a chin off
10:54and stick my saw in and take the inside of this tree out, so by the time we have the back cut done, it just falls over.
11:24Oh, my God.
11:45Oh, my God.
12:15Oh, my God.
12:22Not ideal.
12:26In the hills of the float camp claim, Jim's best efforts to keep this cedar intact failed.
12:34I had the absolute blind faith that it was going perfectly.
12:38Poof.
12:39This tree wasn't as sound as it sounded like.
12:41It was sad to see that it separated, but it is there.
12:44We'll see if we can salvage something in the end.
12:47It's basically shingle.
12:48It needs a little bit of TLC to recuperate what we have left there.
12:53Well, it keeps slaying away.
12:54Back at the forever claim.
13:00Oh, the little bit of truck has a brake hanging up by the looks of it.
13:16Take a look at what's going on.
13:18Yeah, lads, it seemed like this one was getting warm.
13:26Yeah, it's a little bit warmer than the others.
13:29These fat trucks have an extremely robust braking system that needs water.
13:37We have to really make sure that we keep our brakes cool or you will find yourself up creek without a paddle.
13:43We're going to fill the water tank in that clogging truck.
13:51If we don't get water into the brakes, the brakes could heat up, they could fade, and crash or maybe even burn.
13:59Probably both.
14:00Underneath?
14:01Yeah, man.
14:02All right, here we go.
14:03Yeah, my water tank's full.
14:04Excellent.
14:05Good job.
14:06I wonder how these trees are going to be.
14:17Well, if that's the issue, they won't do great.
14:36And that snorkel is going to go like this.
14:39And it's going to be knocking these trees here.
14:42This is the danger zone, for sure.
14:44Yeah.
14:46OK, we're ready to roll.
14:48I'm ready back here.
14:50OK, mate.
14:51Here we go.
14:55On the road again.
14:57I wish I knew the rest of the song.
15:01This has been a battle, but it kind of gets
15:04a little more challenging.
15:05This is the tale of the tape for the trip today.
15:07I can't afford to have anything happen to these machines.
15:10Now as this road gets windy, these trees will get,
15:14there'll be lots of debris on the road.
15:22Here comes the shrapnel.
15:28Not a lot of fun having these things drop on you.
15:31You never know if one can come through the window.
15:35Take that one, take that one.
15:37Take that one, take that one.
15:38.
15:40OK, Dave, I'm in the clear now.
15:42You can start logging anytime.
15:43OK, I'm picking it up here.
15:45Back at the Float Camp claim, former hook tender turned
15:49woods foreman Brand Laviolette, along with yarder operator Dave
15:52Cox, mop up fallen timber to prepare it for hauling.
15:55Because we had so much rain, the soil itself isn't as strong as it should be.
16:02There's not a whole lot to work with here, but we'll turn this into sugar.
16:09We've been logging for 21, 22 years.
16:12I'm a fifth generation logger on the west coast.
16:16I grew up in a logging camp town, so it was an easy transition for me.
16:23And now I'm living the dream.
16:25We need some petrol.
16:26A hook tender is defined as the man in charge of a grappler yarder side.
16:32You're the hill boss.
16:33You're the guy orchestrating all the moving parts.
16:34You're running a chess game over here.
16:35You're the hill boss.
16:36You're the guy orchestrating all the moving parts.
16:38You're running a chess game over here.
16:40I gotta go to a stump that's going to be strong enough, really stable stump.
17:01It's got a lot of wood in front of it.
17:07I think this is going to be the guy.
17:10To do its job, a grapple yarder must be anchored to multiple points so it can pick up logs and pull them down to the roadside.
17:18But when a yarder has gathered everything in its reach, it's on Brad to rig the new anchor points, also known as tail holds, that keep the team harvesting across the hillside.
17:29Come on, wake up.
17:34Come on, wake up.
17:38Buy some new saws, Jared.
17:49Time is of the essence here.
17:51I've got to take all this gear, I've got to rig it up and just go.
17:55The hook tender sets the pace for the whole operation.
17:57If you're not getting the wood, no one else can touch it.
18:00Now that I'm satisfied with my tie back and the stability of this next anchor point, you can start yarding again.
18:11Okay, I'm in the clear, we can give her a tight line whenever you're ready.
18:15Hold it, hold it, hold it.
18:16Whoa!
18:17Whoa!
18:18Whoa!
18:19.
18:20We're gonna have an issue.
18:22I can see there's a great big hemlock log laying on top of everything and it's up off the ground.
18:40My running lines are actually going to sweep under it and it's going to create a gun barrel.
18:44Oh, jamming quick.
18:47A gun barrel happens when a log juts into the direct path of the yarder's pulling cable.
18:55If the two collide, it could send the log straight down at the grapple yarder.
19:02My quick fix for that is to take my saw, buck it off and that piece will just get out of her way.
19:10All right.
19:11Take care of that.
19:12Okay, going ahead easy.
19:13Roger that.
19:14Going ahead.
19:15Go ahead.
19:16Wunderbar.
19:17Wunderbar.
19:18Wunderbar.
19:19Nice.
19:20Nice.
19:21Wunderbar.
19:22Wunderbar.
19:23Nice.
19:24Wunderbar.
19:25Nice.
19:26Off to market.
19:27That's what we like.
19:29That's what we like.
19:40Nice.
19:41Off to market.
19:42That's what we like.
19:43Now I've got a couple of minutes I can four by into the future and look at my next tail
20:01hole option.
20:06So when he's done harvesting all that timber, I've got the next tail hole ready to go.
20:10He plugs in.
20:11Same thing over and over and over all day.
20:15All right feet, don't feel me now.
20:19Let's go.
20:24That one track's pretty loose.
20:26Track coming off a snorkel is like blowing two tires on your pickup truck.
20:31We need to fix this and we need to fix this right now.
20:40Here you are.
20:41At the forever claim.
20:42Jared and the super snorkel haul hit the trickiest stretch yet.
20:47Under fire from heavy branches that could topple the snorkel.
20:52Or destroy the push truck.
20:53They say the darkest is always before the dawn.
20:54This is it.
20:55This is it.
20:56But we're making her.
20:57Nothing broken yet.
20:58It's chaos.
20:59It's absolute chaos.
21:00And you never know when that tree is going to.
21:01come down, smash it in the way.
21:02It's a fire.
21:03So the tree is going to.
21:04It's a fire.
21:05It's a fire.
21:06Oh, this is a fire.
21:07The fire.
21:08The fire has been down.
21:09So the fire is going to beat it.
21:10And it's a fire fire.
21:11He's going to be up and out.
21:12It's a fire fire fire.
21:13And it's a fire fire fire fire.
21:14They say the darkest is always before the dawn.
21:16This is it.
21:22Well, we're making our nothing broken yet.
21:26It's chaos, it's absolute chaos,
21:28and you never know when that tree's gonna come down,
21:30smash into the windshield.
21:33I'm off, baby.
21:35I'm coming, Lance, I'm coming.
21:39Can't tell you enough how I hate moving this damn machine.
21:44But the payoff will be there when it gets to its destination.
21:51That's a beautiful tip there.
21:53Absolutely, nice hammers.
21:56We're getting close now.
22:00Let's go.
22:01Oh, yeah.
22:02Yeah, we're here.
22:03Yeah.
22:04We're gonna drop the ramps now.
22:06We're gonna get this old girl off my back.
22:08With the steepest road still ahead,
22:11Glenn will have to walk the final stretch
22:13to the job site on his own.
22:15But the rough ride so far
22:17has already claimed to be the best.
22:18It's the best.
22:19It's the best.
22:20It's the best.
22:21It's the best.
22:22It's the best.
22:23It's the best.
22:24It's the best.
22:26It's the best.
22:27It's the best.
22:28It's the best.
22:29It's the best.
22:30Well, isn't that sad Merlin's head
22:32with porn?
22:34Well, Merlin,
22:35with the steepest road still ahead,
22:36Glenn will have to walk the final stretch
22:37to the job site on his own.
22:39But the rough ride so far
22:41has already claimed a casualty.
22:43That one track's pretty loose.
22:48You almost get a link out of that.
22:51Track coming off the snorkel is like pretty much blowing two tires on your pickup truck.
22:56We don't have the time and I don't have the patience.
22:58We need to fix this and we need to fix this right now.
23:13Quite a few snags kicking around, but there's also some frickin' money trees in here.
23:27Back at float camp, with less than three weeks left to finish falling operations, Rob is hard on the hunt for his next timber giant.
23:36That's a beautiful tree.
23:39Hopefully it's sound, because if it's sound, it's a money tree.
23:44Hemlock growing out of it too.
23:47It started growing right down here and then said,
23:53hey, what the hell, I'm just gonna use him for support and grew right up the side of him.
23:58Hemlocks are a bit parasitic sometimes.
24:00You'll find any little crack in these cedars and just suck all the nutrients out of them.
24:06Please be sound.
24:07Sounds pretty good.
24:14Sounds like it's got some meat to her.
24:17We've got 27 feet.
24:19No idea what that is for diameter.
24:24Falling is not just big dumb lumberjacks out in the bush.
24:27It's a big puzzle you're picking apart.
24:29Weight transfer and movement.
24:31It's all physics.
24:32I originally was going to university for an electronics technology degree and I don't know if I ran out of interest or money first.
24:42I can't remember which it was, but I went logging and never turned back.
24:47This tree looks like it's got everything we need for value, size, scale.
24:54But it's definitely got a good lean and that undercut has to be perfect because if I throw it too far this way,
25:02it's going to fricking go right into these nice cedars over here and smash it out of them.
25:08So I got to get it right in between these cedars.
25:11I'll have to watch out with that cedar eater here.
25:15If it doesn't go with the cedar, it could fall over up there.
25:20Hopefully it holds together.
25:23Once I get my undercut out, I think I can cut up both sides and tee it up and leave a strap.
25:28That's why I'm going to cut the sides up first and leave my trigger right in there.
25:39To keep this tree from smashing, Rob will have to shoot a tight gap between two nearby cedars
25:46and hope the hemlock growing off the back doesn't break loose and crush them.
25:50To better his odds, he'll make his usual face cut, then trim away at the tree's sides,
25:55leaving just enough holding wood for a fast final cut.
26:02Let's do it!
26:13We won't know for sure until I get it on the ground, but this is probably going to be the highest value tree in here.
26:19It's pretty important to lay this in properly.
26:31Let's just check the aim. Fingers crossed it's aimed in the right direction.
26:36If I stick with that, that's near bang on.
26:39I'll just make it deeper and cut the guts out of it.
26:43I always do a smaller one and then I widen it out.
26:46That's just because of the small bar.
26:49Everybody's like, why don't you just use a bigger bar?
26:54Because I'm trying to make my back last till I'm 65.
26:57I'm 65.
26:59Okay.
27:27Holy . It's starting to pop.
27:45Okay, this thing wants to go before I want it to go, and I need to be ready to bolt if it does.
27:51Oh, .
27:52Oh, f**k.
28:12So it was starting to pop on that side.
28:15I don't want to cut any more back this way.
28:17So now I'm going to hit my trigger and f**king send it.
28:19First time it popped, jarred me into, uh-oh, it does want to go.
28:25Sooner than later.
28:26Oh, yeah.
28:47Right on the money.
28:51And look at that.
28:54Hemlock's slowly falling over.
28:56That's why I finished right in the back.
29:08Just because of f**k like that.
29:11See, you're saved out.
29:13That's the f**king main thing.
29:15Pretty damn beautiful piece of wood.
29:17High grade, high grade, high grade.
29:18There's a truckload of wood laying there.
29:20Good fall.
29:22Best case scenario happened.
29:23We've got a busted track.
29:39We're supposed to line up with these pins.
29:42And that makes the track turn.
29:44As the sprocket turns, it hooks those pins and it rolls the track, giving me motion.
29:50Now, as you see, this one here is nice and tight.
29:56And that's how it's supposed to be.
29:59Very, very slack.
30:00That is just too risky.
30:02So it could get wrecked terribly.
30:05We've got to keep it safe.
30:07You know, I've got lots of experience running the snorkel.
30:09You have to be aware.
30:11And don't be too ballsy, because one mistake in that thing, over it goes.
30:18The team's only option now?
30:21Bring out a mechanic.
30:23But the extra time is worth the delay.
30:25First time that Glenn ever came to work for me, two days in, the machine started having problems with tracks.
30:37He flipped the machine off the side of the mountain.
30:40And the machine did a tumble down the bank, ended up on its roof.
30:47I came running down there, freed him from the cab.
30:50His words were, don't worry about me, boss.
30:53My wife me harder than this.
30:55And he had a broken back.
30:57When we packaged him up, we flew him out in a helicopter.
31:00And I never thought he'd be back.
31:02So I think he has a lot of fear of the tracks acting up again.
31:09Here comes the calvary.
31:15As you can see.
31:16Oh, yeah.
31:18There's the problem.
31:23Now we're pumping nitrogen into the cylinder.
31:26It's making the idler come out and tighten the track so we can carry on.
31:32Oh, God of all trackage.
31:34Rise and be proud.
31:41Yeah, we're, you know, just over 2,000.
31:45Will it tighten up once you walk, you think?
31:47Yeah, it should.
31:48Once I move it.
31:50Back up and do the races.
31:52Here we go.
31:53Let's get this show on the road, finally.
31:56Nice snag there, big fella.
32:12Looking over the area here, I think Dave's pretty much done grappling everything he can see.
32:17How's she going, Dave?
32:18You almost out of wood there?
32:20Yes, I am.
32:21Copy that.
32:21Having finally hit their stride, Brad and Dave must now reach the rest of the timber,
32:28which means re-anchoring the yarder's pulling cable further across the hill
32:32and setting it up to withstand more than 90,000 pounds of force.
32:36Right now, I've identified the next tail hold to be used, so I'm going to tie that stump back to one of these green, healthy trees in lead
32:45to make sure that that stump is not going to pull during the yarding process.
32:50Tail hold failure can be extremely dangerous.
32:52You know, this grapple yarder, in low gear, you can pull half the mountain down if you're not ready for it.
33:05But in a region that receives more than 10 feet of precipitation per year, loose soil is always a concern.
33:14There.
33:16That should hold her back.
33:17Because we had so much rain, still kind of worried about the soil saturation and loss of integrity of the root systems here,
33:29so we're just going to have to be real delicate.
33:31If all things go according to plan, we're really going to pick up some speed here, pick up some time.
33:35We're just going to produce like bastards and hopefully make the boss a good dollar here.
33:39But it's all going to depend on this stump and if we can make her stay in the ground.
33:43All right, Dave, we're all clear up the hill here.
33:46Give her a good tight line here, see what the stump's made of.
33:49Okay, here we go.
33:55Come on, baby, hold in there.
34:06Oh, sock her down, sock her down, sock her down.
34:07Yeah, so for a day's work out here, this is my wedge belt.
34:17I got my tape measure here, measuring out the logs, bucking them to length.
34:22This is my chainsaw, of course.
34:24Very dangerous piece of machinery.
34:27Got to be careful.
34:27Keep it away from your legs.
34:29Got a flashlight for emergencies.
34:32A knife in case a bear wants to attack me.
34:34This thing's just a beauty, the old multi-purpose jug here.
34:38This isn't actually vodka.
34:40I'm not drinking at work.
34:41It is water.
34:43It's just the perfect jug and it fits in my pack well.
34:47I have this old Tupperware here I stole from my mom years ago.
34:51And it's just full of all kinds of spare parts.
34:55Branches, pliers, mounts.
34:57Just small essentials that if I were to break down while I'm up there cutting trees down,
35:01I can repair my saw without wasting too much time.
35:05That's pretty well what I carry in my pack.
35:09It varies from guy to guy, but that seems to work for me.
35:19Oh, sock her down, sock her down, sock her down.
35:21This stump's done.
35:28In the hills above the float camp claim, Brad's mission to bring logs down to the roadside
35:33is falling apart.
35:35So obviously we just had a major blow to production here.
35:38This stump, it's pulled so we're going to have to regroup, reset, come up with a new plan.
35:44As I look around, there's an option we have right here.
35:46Real close, I could actually climb this tree and put some blocks and straps as high as
35:52necessary to get the lines and the grapple all picked up off the forest floor.
35:56The bigger the spread you can get between your guyline and your top choker,
36:00makes that tree that much more strong.
36:02So my plan is climb up probably 40, 50 feet, maybe just below the canopy.
36:08That's where I put my guyline out.
36:09And I love how this gear hasn't changed in a hundred years.
36:17This is the same stuff my granddad was using, doing the same thing.
36:20Here we go.
36:25Climbing trees, it's not foreign to me.
36:27You know, as a kid growing up in a logging camp, it was just a form of fun.
36:31And then when I became a logger, it was just part of the job detail.
36:34So I've been doing it for over 20 years now, so it's second nature.
36:39But a lot of it is just knowing your gear, trusting your gear, inspecting it.
36:44You know, knowing your limit and logging within it.
36:51Look at that.
36:53It ain't pretty, but it's effective.
36:55Yeah.
36:56Okay.
36:56All right, we're all hooked up.
37:01We can get out of the way.
37:02Get some tension on this line.
37:06Get Dave cycling the wood.
37:09That'll make Jared a happy man.
37:11All right.
37:13Ready to check, one, two.
37:16Hello.
37:18Hey, Dave, I'll get you over here.
37:19Position in the clear.
37:21Pick her up.
37:22Oh, yeah, pick her up.
37:29Oh, yeah.
37:32Come on, little loggies.
37:40Yeah, looking good.
37:40I'm impressed with the tree there.
37:43The angles are all looking good.
37:45Should be pretty stable.
37:47Go get them.
37:48Good.
37:49Good job.
37:49Good on.
37:50I couldn't be more happy with the rig.
37:57Like, we've got enough lift.
37:59Everything seems to be holding up.
38:02We're going to make up a lot of time off of this particular spar tree.
38:06A little more.
38:07Good.
38:08All back.
38:08These are the type of situations that Jared expects us to thrive in and start producing,
38:13and that's just what we're doing here.
38:15And now we're just moving product faster than we were all day.
38:19At home, this is working pretty good.
38:21Yeah, they're coming in nice now.
38:23At the forever claim.
38:37We should be good to back up.
38:39I'm driving up this hill backwards so I can keep a watchful eye on the track.
38:57Having this track come off on this route would stop us dead in the water.
39:03So we're definitely going to pay a lot of attention to that.
39:05This is the toughest spot.
39:14I have to watch the tracks on the road.
39:16I don't want to go to the ditch.
39:18And I have to watch my snorkel, make sure it gets by these trees so we don't land anything
39:23on us.
39:25The track still looks good and tight.
39:27That's good.
39:27There it is.
39:49Oh, we did her voice.
39:50Took a little longer than we expected, but hey, we're here.
39:53This was a hell of a task, but big reward.
39:58We got her.
39:59Good job.
40:00That's one big check mark off the list.
40:04You know, now we just have another 100 problems to deal with.
40:09We're going to do everything we can to make sure the next log barge has $100,000 as per
40:14our agreement.
40:15That will give me the ability to get to my $2 million goal that I can push to John Muhammad
40:23at the end of the day to purchase the forever claim.
40:27Great job.
40:28Awesome, man.
40:29I have this dream.
40:32It's like having an 80-year company.
40:34Knowing that I support families and those families have spinoffs.
40:39That is legacy.
40:42Risk, that's the only way to do it.
40:44I think the weight of the world on my shoulders.
40:56I got to cut every square inch of timber I got on every square inch of that barge.
41:06If something goes wrong...
41:08...
41:09...
41:13John can repossess flow camera.
41:15What's going on?
41:16Just finished loading the logs up here at the forever claim.
41:19Nothing great, I'm afraid.
