00:00Romeo International, welcome to Odyssey. I don't know how they did it. I noticed something. You're
00:04not supposed to like Asher, but for some reason, midpoint through episode one, you're like,
00:10he got a point. I don't know how. He's got a point. I was like, is this the Thanos trick to me?
00:17Because I didn't like Thanos even, but I'm like, he got a point. You know, the trick there,
00:22Nick and I have talked about it. How do you make such a reprehensible character from the original
00:27series? How do you make the audience root for him? You introduce people who are a lot worse.
00:33You put his back up against the wall. Yeah. Oh yeah. Romy, have you seen,
00:37you've seen the five episodes, huh? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. How did you balance
00:42the love of then and making people love now? Because the original, there was so much emotion
00:48attached to each individual character. You go into the new house of Asher, there's emotion
00:54attached to each individual character. How did you find the balance of then and now?
00:59Yeah. Well, really for me, it's a continuation of the show. Um, I wanted that same feeling. I wanted
01:05the characters to be new, but within the world that we had created. So it was that balance, uh,
01:12you know, for the original fans, I wanted them to feel welcomed back into this world that they knew
01:18and loved while also introducing new elements to keep it interesting and keep their interest.
01:26And for people who have never seen the show, I wanted it to hook them as quickly as possible.
01:32Do the setup so they get the lay of the land and then let's get that story moving.
01:37Because you got to put all this weight on your shoulders. Do you still want people to see Asher
01:41the same as where he left off? I want the people to see him however they want to see him,
01:46to be honest with you, Romy, that's up to the people. And I don't, I don't get involved so much
01:50into that. I just honor the writing. I honor the story and let what I love about Asher,
01:55Asher provokes certain feelings from people. And that alone is exciting for me because the way you
02:00receive something is completely different than anyone else. I was going to receive it. So for me
02:04to try to box my performance or to box how audience react to this, it would be unfair. It would be
02:09taking a lot of that joy out. So I, I, I do what I do and I leave it to the gods, so to speak.
02:14It's up to them to receive it however they want.
