00:00A late bicycle kick from Christian Romero prevented Newcastle United from winning three Premier League games in succession,
00:07leading to much frustration at the full-time whistle inside of St James' Park.
00:12After a first half that had lacked clear-cut chances, Newcastle twice led towards the end of the game,
00:19with Bruno Gimaraes netting just after the 70-minute mark,
00:23and Anthony Gordon slotting home a penalty with five minutes of normal time left.
00:28But, after each of those goals, the Magpies were pegged back by Romero, meaning that the points were shared.
00:36Eddie Howe was evidently disappointed following the match,
00:39and recognised that Newcastle did not create enough clear chances throughout the course of the evening.
00:45It was a strange one because I thought we were dominant.
00:47We weren't cutting them open and creating the opportunities that were sort of must-score moments,
00:52but I think we've ended up having just shy of 20 shots today.
00:55I think we have been dominant in that respect.
00:58But I think in part that's due to how Tottenham played.
01:00They were very compact, very low.
01:02They were there to make the game difficult for us.
01:04But again, the challenge for us is to be better.
01:07It was a good performance without being our very best.
01:09I really like the character and the mentality in the team, what they showed.
01:15After three tough games, I think it's been to go here to the fourth game in ten days,
01:23the third away game, a very difficult place.
01:27Go down two times or get behind two times and come back.
01:30It shows everything about the willingness and the mentality in the team.
01:36Thomas Frank was clearly of the mind that his side deserved the point that they achieved.
01:41Given Newcastle's chance creation and conversion in recent matches, this game and performance
01:46will be a tough one to swallow for Eddie Howe.
01:49What is perhaps more pressing is the concession of another late goal,
01:54which has happened now on a few separate occasions so far this season.
01:57That is an issue Howe will look to address promptly to make sure that the magpies do not continue
02:03to drop as many points as they already have so far this campaign.
02:07Newcastle do have a chance to get back to winning ways quickly though,
02:11as they next welcome newly promoted Burnley to St James' Park.
