Transcript
00:00Anytime anybody talks to you, they just, you have this viral fame.
00:04I mean, people just are obsessed with anything you say.
00:07Well, I better come up with something good.
00:10I don't know.
00:11I think there's a lot of love around some of the characters,
00:15especially Lorelai, that I've gotten to play,
00:17and that it doesn't go away.
00:20I think, you know, in fans' minds, it kind of keeps that alive.
00:25And I enjoy talking to people.
00:27So, you know, speaking of Lorelai, I mean, you enjoy talking to people,
00:31and people enjoy talking to you, and any sort of reunion.
00:35The Emmys have loved a big reunion.
00:36So tell me why you said yes to tonight and what it means to you to come back here.
00:40Well, these things take you by surprise in a way,
00:43and there really wasn't anything planned to celebrate the 25th.
00:48And so to be asked to, I mean, it's not exactly reunion because we've seen each other,
00:54but to honor the show in this way feels like the party that, you know, we didn't quite have.
01:00Maybe we'll be better prepared for the 30th.
01:04I know anytime moments like this happen, it just brings up the conversation of what life can be left.
01:10I thought we were done with that conversation, and I have realized we are not.
01:16But I've been saying for a long time what I could see making sense is a Christmas movie
01:22in the tradition of Downton Abbey or those other kinds of, you know, shows that are over,
01:28but then kind of come together, especially around the holidays.
01:31I think that would be very Gilmore-friendly.
01:33Also, like, in America, we don't have enough holiday programming.
01:40Football is not holiday programming.
01:43What do you return to when you need a good comfort watch?
01:46I just re-watched all of The Crown, which really was long enough ago that I sort of forgot what happened.
01:53But that's the first time I've re-watched something,
01:55and I think it's almost because I am part of this phenomenon that I'm like,
01:58What is it? What's in it? Why?
02:01And it was very soothing and very rewarding.
02:04Terrific.
02:04And then what do you, you know, I know moments like this also can cause people to look back
02:08and think about what they want to do next.
02:10I mean, you know, I was just talking to James Sweeney about you being in Twinless,
02:13and I was like, she didn't have to do that, but she did, A, because you love the writing.
02:17So what are you drawn to now?
02:18What does Lauren Graham sort of want to do next?
02:20I'm just drawn to something that's good.
02:22It doesn't really matter to me if I'm the, it's not a strategic thought anymore.
02:27So much as what artistically will either be interesting or fun or challenging.
02:34I love that Twinless is doing as well as it is.
02:38I would, I do feel like if there's one more TV show I would love to do,
02:41and it's probably a half hour comedy.
02:45I'd love to work with Greg Daniels.
02:46I'd love to work with Mike Schur.
02:48We've got to make that happen.
02:49God, thank you so much.
02:50Thank you so much.
02:57God, thank you so much.
