00:00Good day, I'm Bob McKenzie, this is my brother Doug.
00:02How's it going, eh? Welcome to our movie.
00:05Not only are Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas
00:07reuniting as the McKenzie brothers in July,
00:10they are doing it for a great cause.
00:12Moranis and Thomas gained huge popularity on Canada's SCTV —
00:16that's Second City TV, FYI — in the 80s as the beer-loving
00:20Canadian Bumpkins, and later had crossover success
00:23in the U.S. on Saturday Night Live.
00:26The pair were so successful they even starred in a spin-off film,
00:29the cult classic Strange Brew in 1983.
00:32Now, the funny guys are coming together again,
00:34along with a slew of other SCTV stars such as
00:37Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy,
00:40as well as Moranis' Ghostbusters co-star Dan Aykroyd.
00:44Now, as if that wasn't enough comedic genius in one show,
00:47the gang will also be joined by Kids in the Hall star
00:50Scott Thompson and Paul Schafer, who is best known
00:53for being David Letterman's former band leader.
00:56Martin Short will host the July 18 benefit,
00:58which aims to raise money for Dave Thomas' nephew, Jake,
01:01who was left paralyzed from the waist down
01:03after a snowmobiling accident in January.
01:06How do you feel about the McKenzie brothers
