00:00-"Jesus. Is this really what it's come down to, you guys? Whatever happened to us?"
00:05South Park is still going strong. Comedy Central just renewed the animated series through 2022.
00:10Co-creator Trey Parker tells The Hollywood Reporter,
00:13"...in this day and age, it is more of an achievement than it was before, the fact that we are still going."
00:17Now, the decision to renew their show for a few more years apparently didn't involve a long discussion.
00:27According to Parker,
00:28"...I don't think we have ever had an okay, let's sit down and decide if we are going to keep going."
00:32Fellow co-creator Stone adds,
00:34"...I am 48, Trey turns 50 this year, so I will say that I don't think we will be doing this show when we're 60."
00:40But Parker points out they said in old interviews they'd stop when they'd hit their 40s.
00:43South Park's upcoming 23rd season will be produced the same way it has in years prior.
00:48Each episode planned and executed the week of air.
00:51The show will hit a major milestone in October, its 300th episode.
00:55"...if you can't stop me from your pig, how can we be..."
00:57"...you have to keep trying."
00:59"...you have to believe."
01:03Parker and Stone say they also are chomping at the bit to make another movie.
01:07Their last being 2004's Team America, World Police.
01:10Stone tells THR,
01:11"...we think of ourselves as filmmakers and it's like everyone is doing TV now. We just want to do a movie."
01:16The two are tight-lipped about their plans, but Stone assures they have some, quote,
01:20"...really effing killer ideas," which are not South Park related.
