00:00Hi, Karen. We spoke to you last night at the THR nominee's party. How was it? Did you have the time of your life?
00:05Oh, my God. I danced. I had fun. I took pictures, which are on my IG right now.
00:16That house was amazing. I mean, I met all the reporters that I see on the roundtable,
00:24on the actor roundtable, on the director roundtable, that I really admire, who's so smart and asked so many good questions.
00:30And in general, I had a good time. It was our first party of the Emmy weekend.
00:37And so it was great. It was fun. It was great to celebrate.
00:40Yeah, well, I saw you tearing it up on the dance floor.
00:43Oh, my God.
00:44But now we're being very demure. It's a tea party.
00:47Very demure. As you can see, I'm dressed in my most demure outfit.
00:52I love the bow.
00:53Yes, the bow. Last night I was in red. Today I'm quite demure.
00:57I love it. So since this is a tea party, I wanted to ask if you can spill the tea on a few things for me.
01:02Okay, let's spill it.
01:03Okay, so let's spill the tea on the best thing you've seen on TV this year.
01:08Well, that's probably Jessica Gunning, who's standing right over there talking to somebody in Baby Reindeer.
01:14I thought she was extraordinary. I'd never seen her before, whoever the casting director is for that show.
01:18I need to know them. They're amazing. I thought that was one of my favorite shows.
01:23Of all time.
01:24So I'm spilling the tea on how great Jessica Gunning is.
01:27Yeah.
01:28I love that. I love that.
01:29Who was the last person from the morning show that you texted, and what was it about?
01:33I texted Greta Lee going into this big weekend, wanted to see how she was, and I sent a picture to Mark Duplass from pictures we took last night.
01:49He's so fun and so great, and I saw him and his wife Katie last night, so it's fun. Great time, yeah.
01:57The next show that you would love to guest star on?
02:00Abbott Elementary. Abbott. I think Quinta Brunson is so smart and so fun and so gorgeous, and I love that show, and I would really love to guest on that show at some point.
02:13Did you talk to her last night? Did we pitch that out there?
02:16Oh, yeah. I definitely talked to her about it. I definitely pitched it. I've been pitching it for a year now.
02:20She's got this cute little new haircut. She's just adorable. She already looks about 20. Now she looks 15.
02:27So, yeah, she's so cute and great and just really a powerhouse of a showrunner, writer, actress. Just love her. I would love to work with her at some point.
02:39And finally, the first job you had in Hollywood.
02:42What was the first job I had? Here, where I went to set one day?
02:53In Hollywood? That may have been the first job I got in Los Angeles, but the first. Oh, no.
03:01The first job I got was on a show. Oh, my gosh. What's her name?
03:08Who's Rosanna Arquette's sister?
03:17Patricia Arquette's television show many, many, many years ago, and I was pregnant with my daughter.
03:27And I was like maybe very early in my pregnancy, maybe like six, seven weeks.
03:32But I got in this job, and I was so excited. It was one of my first few jobs in L.A.,
03:35and I was so, so tired, and I was standing all day, and Patricia came up to me and said,
03:42Hi, how are you doing? Because I was looking like a little, you know.
03:44She said, Hi, how are you doing? Are you all right? What's going on?
03:47And I was like, little known secret, I'm pregnant, and I've been on my feet all day.
03:51And she was like, Somebody, somebody, come over here and give her a chair.
03:55She was so kind, so sweet, so mothering, because she knew exactly what it was like.
04:00You know, that was back in 2008. Yeah, yeah, when I was pregnant with my daughter.
04:05So that was my first job, you know.
04:08And here we are now, right?
04:10Here we are! Isn't that crazy? Oh my gosh. Anyway, yeah.
04:14Well, congratulations again on everything, and enjoy. Grab some tea, right?
04:18I am going to have some tea.
