00:00So, we've all got so many parcels moving through the stratosphere at the moment.
00:05The UK parcel delivery industry is the biggest across Europe.
00:09There are 1.2 billion parcels being handled in the build-up to Christmas in the UK alone.
00:15That's 12 parcels per person.
00:18Well, I push that average way up, I'm sure.
00:21So, with all your Black Friday parcels, if you suddenly get a text saying
00:25there's been a problem with your delivery, or you need to update,
00:28or your delivery is stuck at the depot, you're just going to go, example like this,
00:32you're just going to go, I need that, it could be anything, it could be my aunties, my daughters.
00:38And for £2, you don't even think about it.
00:39You're going to sort it. Yes, of course.
00:40So, you get on it and you sort it.
00:42Now, what you've done by tapping on that and paying, or even just tapping on it,
00:45is you've very nicely handed £2 to a criminal, and even worse, you've handed them your bank details.
00:51Thank you very much. Happy Christmas, criminals.
00:54So, this is very sophisticated.
00:55The reason why they call it Spray and Pay is because it is massive.
01:00They are sending these texts out to millions and millions and millions of phone numbers.
01:05So, you'll get one. You will absolutely get one.
01:08So, just think twice before you do it.
01:11It is very unlikely you'll be asked to pay, unless it's coming from America and there's customs to pay.
01:16You might get a card through your letterbox if they've missed you.
01:19Or, you know, the old post office, there we go, post office red card, or every would give a card.
01:24You just hold on and think about it, because you are handing over details that you shouldn't oughtn't to do.
01:31If you do, and you suddenly think, oh, crikey, I think I did that in haste, get in touch with your bank straight away.
