00:00We're kicking off with a reminder to get your orders for repeat medications in.

00:05During the festive season, lots of GPs and pharmacies are closed or they might have reduced hours.

00:10Oscar, this Friday is a key date for everyone's diary, isn't it?

00:14This Friday is Friday the 12th, an important day, particularly for repeat prescriptions.

00:19So getting your prescriptions in order before the festive period is so important

00:22because lots of GP practices will be closed.

00:25Most will certainly be closed at Christmas, on Christmas Day, on Boxing Day, on the bank holidays.

00:30And it's a difficult time for GPs at the minute.

00:32You know, we're inundated with people, coughs, colds, flu, all of these illnesses that come out at this time of year.

00:38So the receptionists are busy sorting out the repeat prescriptions.

00:41If you can, just get in early to request your repeat medicines so that you've got your stock,

00:45you're not stressing, you can be wrapping your presents and not worrying about getting down to the pharmacy to pick things up.

00:50Ideally, five working days for the pharmacy is what they ask for.

00:53Well, some are obviously quicker than that, but we need to give them plenty of time to make sure that you can get that prescription.
