Stephanie Hsu & Tallie Medel chatted with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet of the 2023 SAG Awards.

00:00What would it mean to win tonight and be honored by your fellow actors in this way?

00:04Well, I've got my plus one, Tali Madel, who plays my girlfriend in Everything Everywhere,

00:10and she's a queen and one of the most talented actors I know.

00:13So it would feel like that. It would feel just like all of us are here tonight.

00:17It would feel so amazing to celebrate together.

00:20I would be so excited for, I mean, getting to see our film succeed so publicly has really been overwhelming,

00:33because just being in the film, just the film existing at all, even if I wasn't in the movie, I would still be like, oh, you know?

00:41So being at award ceremonies and getting awards is like, hell yeah,

00:45but just getting to be here and with each other again is such a treat.

00:51I love actors. This is going to be so fun.

00:53We're coming up on the Oscars. It's just a couple weeks away.

00:56So it's the big finish line of awards season.

00:59Do you have a favorite memory of this awards season journey so far?

01:05We were just talking about this in the car, but I remember at the Academy Gala.

01:10That was our first big, big event. Very fancy.

01:14No one even has name cards because you should just know who everyone is.

01:19And I said that, and I was like, I would really, the one person I would really love to meet tonight is Tilda Swinton.

01:24And within like the first five minutes of being there, Michelle was like, come here, come here.

01:29Tilda wants to say hi to you.

01:30And she was just this like beacon of brilliance.

01:34And she, yeah, she, she was amazing.

01:37And she loved our movie, which I am not surprised that she does.

01:40But that was pretty special.

01:43I just couldn't even say anything.

01:45Yeah, that was pretty, yeah.

01:46I love that meeting Tilda Swinton is the highlight.

01:49Like, yeah, that's like, she's a highlight.

01:52Is that the same highlight for you?

01:54I wasn't there, but Stephanie meeting Tilda Swinton is my highlight.

01:58Yeah.

01:58Do you have any other highlights or other moments that you really just like will look back on fondly always from this whole experience?

02:05For me, because I'm, I'm New York based.

02:07So I've been just like cheering from the other side of the country.

02:10And seeing Key win the Golden Globe was the first time that it was like, oh my God, this is like, this is incredible.

02:18I, yeah, I can't talk about it or I'll, or I'll fall apart.

02:21But yeah.

02:22There's been a lot of tears for sure.

02:25Yeah.

02:26When Key first won at the Gotham Awards, I stood up so fast, I almost cried.

02:31Yeah.

02:32That was the first moment that I was like, what's happening?

02:34That we won Best Feature there too.

02:36Yes.

02:36I was like, what's happening?

02:38And I'm still like, what's happening?

02:39Yeah.

02:40And when you won last night at the PGA's, what was your reaction to that?

02:43How did that feel?

02:44What's happening?

02:46What's happening?

02:49Yeah.

02:49I mean, it's, I mean, I know, I feel like everyone is so bored with hearing us talk about how much we love each other.

02:56But I just want you to know that it's, it's so real.

02:59Like this movie was truly such a labor of love.

03:02It could not have happened unless everybody said hands in.

03:05And that is why it was possible.

03:07And the fact that people are receiving it and are, that it's shifting our culture in a way.

03:11That's a big deal.

03:12That's what every artist wishes to give to society at large.

03:17So yeah, yeah, I love that.

03:22And we look forward to see what happens in two weeks.

03:24Big, big, exciting things all on the horizon.

03:26Yes.
