00:00What does it mean to you to be here today and receiving this Lifetime Achievement Award?
00:04Well, it means a lot because it's them. It's them.
00:09I mean, you want directors to hire you and producers to want to work with you
00:14and writers to want to write with you or for you, but these are the actors,
00:19and the people you want to respect you are the actors.
00:24In the very beginning of your career, what's an early role you loved?
00:27It could be in a school play. It could be an early guest star role, an early role you loved.
00:32Well, the early part of my career was Gidget, and that was my first thing, so I loved Gidget.
00:39When you think back to that young girl, do you think she had any idea what her future held?
00:45You bet.
00:46I love that. That's the way to do it.
00:48And, of course, Andrew Garfield, he's giving you your trophy tonight.
00:51What does it mean to have him here?
00:52Well, I love him. I think he's here, too.
00:54I mean, he's my boy. I love him to pieces.
00:59And since we are here honoring actors, who's someone in your life that inspired you to act
01:04and really encouraged you to believe this dream was possible?
01:07Who inspired me to act?
01:10I was born an actor.
01:11I mean, I come from a working-class show business family.
01:14It was in my DNA.
01:18I really have been acting since I was 12 in junior high and high school.
01:24So, you know, I don't have, like, oh, I had an aunt, Gladys, who told me,
01:28I think you've got talent, Missy.
01:30I think you should get out there and try.
01:33It just was always.
01:34You were just born to do it.
01:36Born.
01:36Thank you so much.
