00:00Hello, I'm Johnny Knoxville and I'm going undercover on the internet.
00:05This is actually me.
00:07Oh, why you gotta bring this up?
00:13Cora.
00:15How much damage did Johnny Knoxville do to his body while performing stunts on Jackass
00:21and did he age rapidly?
00:23Hello, Louise.
00:25Started Jackass 4 brunette, now I have silver hair.
00:29So I guess I age pretty rapidly.
00:31And I don't know if this is how much damage I did to my body on Jackass 4 or on all the
00:37movies.
00:38I'm just going to answer on Jackass 4 otherwise we'll be here all day.
00:42So on Jackass 4 I broke my wrist, broke my rib and got a pretty gnarly concussion which
00:48I had to stay in the hospital for the weekend.
00:51So yeah.
00:54Which Jackass actor had the most injuries from the movie series?
00:58Everyone has gotten lots of injuries.
01:02On 4, Steve-O busted his shoulder but I think my weekend in the hospital was probably the
01:10most severe injury.
01:13But there's, you know, things happen.
01:17Seriously.
01:18It's actually me.
01:20Ex sad girl Sosa.
01:22I know you were probably too amped on adrenaline in the moment but do you remember being in
01:26pain after you shot yourself with the vest on?
01:30That's referring to when I tested a bulletproof vest while shooting myself with a .38.
01:35No, it wasn't pain.
01:36It was just fear.
01:37It was because I didn't have enough money to buy a good vest.
01:41I bought the cheapest vest they had.
01:43The vest actually dispersed the impact quite nicely.
01:47It felt like someone had to hit you in the chest with a shovel.
01:52But there was no pain.
01:55It was just fear.
01:58Do stuntmen respect Johnny Knoxville?
02:00Just curious.
02:01The stuntmen on the set, like when I first started doing films and Jackass had came out,
02:07I remember on my first film the stuntmen, hey, they said, hey, you want to sit with us
02:12during lunch?
02:13We usually don't let actors sit with us but you can sit with us.
02:16You know, that was a real honor to be able to sit with the stunt guys because what they
02:21do is unbelievable.
02:22So yes, I have a great deal of respect for them and I think they're alright with what we
02:29do.
02:30And how did Jeff Tremaine and Johnny Knoxville find the Jackass crew?
02:34Well, most of us came out of Big Brother magazine where Jeff was the editor and I was one of
02:40the contributors and Pontius was a writer and they covered Wee Man, they covered Steve-O.
02:46And then we kind of joined forces with Ryan Dunn and Bam Margera from the CKY videos and
02:53that's how we, and Preston actually, he was a wild card.
02:57He was on my couch at the time the show came about and we got Aaron through Dave England.
03:04He's like, hey, we were shooting the pilot.
03:07Hey, can I bring my buddy to shoot?
03:08Yeah, bring him.
03:10I.M.D.B. was able to make friends with two of his heroes, Johnny Cash and Hunter S. Thompson,
03:16before their respective deaths, even buying a cabin and other possessions from Cash.
03:20I did get to meet Hunter S. Thompson right before his passing.
03:27I'd met him before years earlier.
03:30He was amazing.
03:33Your character carried a doctor's bag around and it was filled with everything a doctor
03:41would have in a bag.
03:44He was very prepared.
03:45I never got to meet Johnny.
03:47At the Wilson Man 11, when are you going to find a new crew for a new generation jackass?
03:53Well, I'm glad you asked because we have a few new cast members in the new jackass.
03:59We wanted to bring in some new blood, some fresh faces and so we reached out to all our
04:04friends and we got Jasper Dolphin from the Loiter Squad and Jasper and Errol's first time.
04:10His dad, Dark Shark, who is hilarious.
04:14We have Eric Monaca, who is in Action Point with me.
04:18Zach Holmes, who I was aware of from just seeing crazy things on the internet.
04:23I mean, he's a bigger fellow and just goes for it.
04:26He's really athletic.
04:28Rachel Wolfson, the stand-up comedian, she's fantastic.
04:32And Poopies, boy, can't you wait to meet Poopies.
04:36He's a total Spicoli surfer type and just will go for it so, so hard.
04:43Him and Zach really, you got to watch it because they'll do whatever you ask them.
04:49So it's like, it's a lot of power to have.
04:53We have to respect that.
04:55More Quora.
04:56What is Johnny Knoxville's sperm count?
04:58My sperm count these days, I think, is very healthy.
05:02But I remember one time in Russia, when we were partying really hard in around 2004, 2005,
05:10we were in some urology clinic slash sex museum.
05:16And we took my sperm count then.
05:18And it was rather meager.
05:22They put it under a slide.
05:25You know?
05:26And they showed a healthy sperm under the slide, which it looked like, you know, just thousands
05:32of fish swimming through the sea.
05:34And then they put mine up there.
05:36All you saw were like four or five dead soldiers on a battlefield for the longest time.
05:44And then finally, two, you saw two soldiers who were about to have a heart attack.
05:48And they crossed.
05:49And when they crossed paths, everyone in the room stood up and applauded.
05:52That's how low my sperm count was then.
05:55But I've had two children since then, and I think it's recovered.
05:59Why did Johnny Knoxville leave the Jackass TV series?
06:02It was an election year, and Joseph Lieberman came down hard on our show we were doing.
06:09And unfortunately, we had a few copycat incidences.
06:11You know, he was wanting to be tough on Hollywood, and he was pointing us out directly, which the
06:17network kind of froze.
06:20They had to really come down on us for certain things, because they were getting come down
06:25on.
06:26And we couldn't do the show like we had been doing it.
06:30It turned into something else.
06:32And I loved the show too much to compromise it.
06:35We had like OSHA people assigned to the show saying you can't jump off anything higher than
06:41three feet.
06:42You know, the constraints that we couldn't do the show, so I quit.
06:47But then, out of all that, we decided to do the first Jackass film, which opened us back
06:53up again.
06:54How much of the budget for the Jackass movies is insurance?
06:58God, on the first movie, they didn't insure the whole movie.
07:03They insured per bit.
07:06One bit we wanted to do, they wanted $5 million to insure it.
07:09We wanted Pontius dressed up like in a devil costume going to one of those Pentecostal churches
07:14where they handle snakes.
07:17And to do that, they wanted $5 million.
07:19And we're like, well, can't do that idea, because the whole movie, first movie cost $6 million.
07:25We can't double the budget for one bit.
07:28Posted.
07:29IMDB.
07:30Johnny Knoxville's eyeball popped out of its socket twice after he was injured while shooting
07:35a scene on the Alpine slide.
07:36It did pop out of its socket twice.
07:41You know, I had a terrible concussion, and I didn't know it at the time.
07:48But I'd also powdered this bone in my face.
07:52It just, it didn't break.
07:53It just disappeared.
07:54And I remember getting back from the hospital that night, and I had a little blood in my nose,
07:58and I just kind of took my fingers and blew, right?
08:01And then my eyeball went, and I called the producer.
08:07I'm like, I got to go back to the hospital.
08:09My eye just popped out.
08:10He's like, ah, ha, ha, ha.
08:12I'm like, no, my eye just popped out.
08:14He's like, I'll be right there.
08:16And then about a week later, I was out with Pontius, and he said something funny.
08:22And for whatever reason, like, I wasn't supposed to sneeze for six weeks, right?
08:27I wasn't allowed to sneeze for six weeks, which is, like, if you got to, you got to.
08:34That was the information I had.
08:35But Pontius said something funny, and I went, I held my nose and laughed, and went.
08:40So I had double vision, pushed it back in, and good times.
08:46Prior to Jackass airing on MTV, the crew was given an opportunity from Saturday Night Live
08:50to perform their stunts on a weekly basis.
08:52They declined, but Knoxville would host the show in 2005.
08:54Right as we were getting ready to do the pilot for Jackass,
09:00Saturday Night Live did offer me, like, three to five minutes each week
09:06to do something, whether it's a prank or a stunt.
09:11And I met with Lauren Michaels at the Beverly Hills Hotel,
09:15and I was extremely grateful for the opportunity to sit across from that man
09:23and, you know, really consider the offer.
09:26I was working in a restaurant a year before, you know,
09:29and now I'm sitting across from Lauren Michaels.
09:32But in the end, I decided that,
09:34God, Jackass was something that me and all my friends were doing
09:37and we had control of, and I just thought maybe I'll just bet on us.
09:43And I was very grateful for the offer, but I just bet on us.
09:49More Twitter.
09:50Okay, this has a picture of where I ruptured my ring finger,
09:54and did you regain all the movement in it, and how long did it take?
09:58Okay, this is the one that's not injured, and let's see.
10:03It goes like that.
10:05This is the one that was injured.
10:07It doesn't go as far, but it's pretty good.
10:10I was promoting Bad Grandpa at a fraternity,
10:15and I jumped up on the basketball net, right?
10:19I was trying to climb up the basketball net, and I snapped my tendon.
10:23So, I didn't know it until later, because, you know,
10:30lots of drinking at the fraternity.
10:34Next, Instagram.
10:38Picture of me in my Rice Olds jersey from 1985.
10:43Wait, does that mean you're actually good at baseball?
10:45I thought your talent was having no talent.
10:48I loved baseball.
10:49I played baseball until I was 18, like, up until the week I was moving to Los Angeles.
10:55I played in a, you know, I had a summer league team that I was playing on until I left.
11:03I was actually decent in baseball.
11:05That's the only thing that I could say that I was actually decent in.
11:09I love it.
11:11I was a pitcher in first base.
11:13YouTube.
11:14Yo, concussion.
11:18How many Johnny Knoxville's have you had?
11:20I would say 15 or 16 now.
11:28Yep.
11:29I think I'm, uh, I think I'm good on concussions.
11:36All right, kids.
11:37That's it.
11:38I'm signing off the internet.
11:41See you around.
11:42You, you, you, you.
11:44You, you, you.
11:44You, you, you, you.
11:44You, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you.
11:45You, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you.
11:47You, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you.
