Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi launches with immersive exhibits spanning Earth and space history

Abu Dhabi has opened the Middle East’s largest Natural History Museum, unveiling an ambitious journey through 13 billion years of Earth and cosmic history with rare fossils, immersive experiences and major scientific collections.

00:07seropods welcoming you to this amazing museum, that in itself is going to
00:12instill so much curiosity and imagination in our youth and ourselves also.
00:23The Middle East's largest natural history museum celebrates over 13 billion years of science and
00:29discovery as the latest addition to Sadiat Cultural District opens in Abu Dhabi.
00:34From the creation of our planet to the history of life on earth,
00:38it showcases some incredible exhibits that bring nature's story to life.
00:43This specimen is called Stan and it's one of the best preserved examples of a T-Rex.
00:49Its bones and its teeth are in outstanding condition. Have a look.
00:53Other highlights include a piece of moon rock that you can touch,
01:00a 25 meter whale skull and the oldest thing on display in the museum.
01:06The Murchison meteorite is one of the most primitive space rocks known and was formed from a parent
01:12asteroid around 4.5 billion years ago at the birth of our solar system. Now when it fell to earth in
01:19Australia, locals said that it smelled of rotten peanut butter or brussels sprouts because of the
01:26compound inside and apparently it still does. Visiting exhibitions will also make up the cultural
01:32programme like this March of the Triceratops. It's an immersive exhibit in partnership with
01:38Naturalist Biodiversity Centre in the Netherlands. This is the first ever heard of Triceratops skeletons
01:45discovered together in North America. This is a museum that's full of life. What I mean by that
01:52is that it's a continuous evolution in this museum. So our research department, our programming
01:58department, our publication departments will work hand in hand with cultural institutions,
02:03scientific institutions to continuously research these amazing species working hand in hand together
02:08and finding new discoveries. Immersive experiences and science programmes for the community
02:14connect the past, present and future, stimulating imagination and encouraging learning for the next
02:21generation. You get to learn so much different experiences because in one room you could learn
02:27about the T-Rexes, one room you could learn about earth, you could learn about so much different things.
02:33This place is like a very good place and like we should care about the planets more and like
02:39educate people how to like clean the world and keep it a sustainable place. The Natural History Museum
02:47Abu Dhabi is a curious space for all and one that will inspire and shape a better future for generations to come.
