00:09villainous Captain Hook in Disney's live-action retelling of Peter Pan. The

00:13live-action film Peter Pan and Wendy is based on the 1953 Disney animated

00:18classic. However the retelling is not the first live-action look at the

00:28characters introduced by writer J.M. Barrie in the early 20th century. Steven

00:32Spielberg's 1991 film Hook starred Robin Williams as an adult Peter and co-star

00:37Dustin Hoffman as Captain Hook. And later Universal and Columbia's 2003 movie Peter

00:42Pan featured Jason Isaacs as the villainous pirate and more recently Warner

00:46Brothers released Pan, the 2015 origin story starring Hugh Jackman that

00:50unfortunately faltered at the box office. Law was recently in the Disney fold due

00:54to his role in Captain Marvel, last year's tentpole from Marvel Studios. He has also

00:58been playing Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts movies from Warner

01:01Brothers. Disney has largely found box office success remaking its animated

01:04films in recent years and in 2019 alone put out Dumbo, Aladdin and The Lion King
