The singer-turned-actor is in early negotiations to play the iconic role of Prince Eric in Disney’s live-action remake of 'The Little Mermaid.'

00:25This news comes after The Little Mermaid found its princess Ariel and singer Halle Bailey

00:29of R&B duo Chloe and Halle. Plus, Melissa McCarthy, Jacob Tremblay, and Awkwafina

00:34are also all in talks to be part of Ariel's world. An early 2020 production start is being planned.

00:39Styles, of course, brings his vocal chops to the table, but interestingly enough, the character of Prince Eric

00:44performed no songs in the 1989 original animated movie. However, Eric performed several songs

00:49in the Broadway musical, including two solos. Now, as any directioner or really anyone knows,

00:54Styles was famously a member of boy band One Direction before embarking on a super successful solo career.

01:07Wow, vocal king. Styles made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, which collected several Oscars.
