00:05the Obamas to the list. Barack and Michelle Obama are expanding their media domain with
00:09a multi-year deal with Spotify to create podcasts that will be exclusive to the audio
00:14service and allow them to develop, produce and lend their voices to select shows for
00:18Spotify. The partnership comes through their higher ground production banner, which is
00:22already in business with Netflix, working on a number of projects including scripted,
00:26unscripted, documentary series and movies. The former president released a statement
00:30regarding the deal saying,
00:40Spotify's chief content office also spoke out about the news in a statement saying,
00:56The Obamas production company has been central to their post-White House life, inking
01:00new deals that will provide them with a new platform to reach millions of people with the
01:04stories they want to share. Michelle Obama added in a statement,
01:07Our hope is that through compelling inspirational storytelling, higher ground audio will not
01:12only produce engaging podcasts but help people connect emotionally and open up their
01:16minds and their hearts.
