Gaten Matarazzo tells THR at the 'Stranger Things 5' premiere how he might wear a disguise to sneak into the finale in theaters. Plus, he reveals who is the most active in the 'Stranger Things' group chat.

00:00Your life has changed so much since you first debuted on this show with stage productions and other projects.

00:07But people were really abuzz when one summer you also had a side job working at a restaurant.

00:14Why do you think that caused such a stir the way that it did?

00:17I don't know. It was in the middle of the pandemic. I didn't want to sit on the couch anymore.

00:23And both of my siblings and my girlfriend worked there. And so I was like, why not? It was fun. It was a good time.

00:28Yeah, it's just more to spend some time with friends than anything.

00:31I imagine that experience maybe helped you become a master of disguise.

00:35Oh, well, that was the attempt. But apparently it didn't work because a good number of people ended up picking up on it.

00:40But it was fun. It was one of those things because it was an outdoor service restaurant.

00:45So they had like social distance tables out and we were masked for our service.

00:49So, yeah, I got to wear like a mask and a hat and like kind of tuck in my hair, which is quite long at a time.

00:54Yeah, it was fun. It was a good time.

00:55Do you think you might use those disguise skills to then sneak into a screening of the finale in movie theater?

01:01That's the goal. I'm trying to think of the best way to do it.

01:03Should I show up like right before it starts when it's dark?

01:06Or should I get a really good seat and go like half an hour early so nobody's in there yet?

01:10And just like tuck in with a hood? I don't know yet.

01:13Or you could wear a costume. Demogorgon mask, Vecna mask.

01:16Costume so I can just cover my face.

01:18And it gets hot. I'm going to like sweat and breathe in it.

01:21It's just going to get gross and sweaty and wet.

01:25Not for me, personally.

01:26So maybe I just got to suck it up and just go face out.

01:31We've all worked on this show together for so long.

01:33Who's the most active in the Stranger Things group chat?

01:36Oh, man.

01:38Oh, that's tough to say.

01:39Finn is always a very active texture.

01:41He's always very good at updating.

01:43I'm very grateful for it because I am a notoriously terrible texture.

01:46And I guess that's just, I just communicate terribly.

01:48I don't, because people say that, like, you're not just a bad texture.

01:51You're just not nice.

01:52I'm like, yes, that's right.
