00:00I was in the office I was that we were doing a rewrite and my manager called me

00:14and I was like for which category and then everyone around the table started

00:19cheering because I they're very nice people

00:24not at all I mean I did have like a crazy couple weeks I wish with the

00:34correspondence dinner running the 50-mile ultra marathon and starting the

00:39show that all happened in like a three-week period and I was just like

00:43this is this is unsustainable we can't keep going on like that but I mean still

00:49what an incredible time for you yeah it was really good I got a lot accomplished

00:53in a couple of a short amount of time

00:59I never think of anything in comedy as a responsibility because I think

01:04especially right now we're putting too much pressure on comedians to be like

01:07truth tellers right but like truth in the way you want to hear truth tellers you

01:14know like which which I don't I don't like we're the bottom of the barrel we're

01:20not you know like record gestures we're not just making people are doing is

01:25noble it's just we're trying to have a good time we're trying to lighten the

01:28mood I just I think like we got to get rid of it like that what comedians say is

01:35important it's like no what we say is funny and that's really where it should

01:40like that's where our barometer should be you should never look at comedian to be

01:44your philosopher we're right no you make a good point yeah staying at motels in

01:49like Kansas you know like just eating ribs and being miserable so I don't know I

01:55don't think we're your moral compass

01:56it's hard because those are I mean I call those high difficulty level jokes like and I

02:07think of it a lot like you know like I don't know I relate everything to sports I'm a real man

02:11and I but you know like gymnastics you know the first time you try like a

02:16really hard vault you're gonna fall you're probably gonna fall for like 50

02:20times when you do it you know like it takes a lot of work to like stick that

02:24landing and that's how I feel jokes like me too jokes are where it's like you got

02:28to say something no one said before you got to come at an angle that no one's

02:32really expecting you to come at it from and you got to make people laugh while

02:37being sensitive to the fact that it is a sensitive issue right so it's just so it

02:42sounds like a lot it takes a really long time and like you know to that's why

02:47it's like anytime anyone's watching comedy at like a club or you know like

02:53just remember they're working on jokes you know like they might be saying

02:56something for the first time and it might not go well it might not go for the

03:00well for the first 50 times but when you can get a joke like that to really work on

03:05like a topic that's very can be very sensitive and touchy it's uh it's it's

03:10it's a good accomplishment

03:15you know fight back yeah I think yeah women we got to stand up and fight and you

03:23know like we've we've let men run things for a long time and just you know

03:29like you gotta you gotta take some of the power back absolutely

03:36yeah I mean I feel like if you're gonna make political jokes especially like you

03:43know in this crazy climate that where everyone's talking about it first of all

03:47I don't want to hear a hacky joke you gotta come up with a new angle and just you know

03:53like make sure your joke I kind of think of my jokes is like this isn't the best

03:58I don't know anything about law so I could be wrong about this but but kind of

04:02like a legal argument where you're like I'm gonna try to where I see people

04:06objecting I'm gonna try to get to that and cover that in the joke before they

04:12can object to it but you might say something that's like you know people

04:15be like I don't agree with that and then you'll like follow it up with like a

04:18like something that they're like okay now yeah you're right but you know like

04:23you got it like I don't know you got to think of them sort of as legal arguments

04:28which I've never done before so I don't know if that's the right thing to say

04:31that seems like a great method I'm sure that's why you're so successful at what

04:34you do

04:39I mean personally I think it's very well written but I think it's also a sign of

04:46the times where it's like you know I recorded this last August but it came

04:50out in December like following all this me too stuff which you know I didn't

04:56plan that wasn't like a part of a bigger scheme of mine where I was like I'm

04:59gonna get all these men to sexually harass women so that in 20 years right

05:07after Ronan Farrell so it just you know good timing in that but I you know I think

05:14people are ready now for like women to like give their actual real opinions and

05:19and you know like not be shy and you know like luckily I have a voice it's very

05:26grating and it's hard to tune out

05:29I really hate the idea that like women were like in like these pretty little

05:36boxes you know like where it's like you can't say that you're a lady and I'm

05:40like that's who you also grew up with older brothers so I was just I don't

05:46know I've always been a little dirty I guess

05:53um I was gonna say Sarah Huckabee Sanders but I don't actually want her to

05:58watch it why cuz I don't want her to get the idea that she can like burn down a

06:02place you know yeah I feel like we'd really I feel like she'd like be like

06:08Aunt Lydia on steroids then you know like where she was like you're right I

06:11should speak up more I'm like oh she's like the one person who shouldn't see it

06:15right yeah um I don't know I don't know I would man this is a hard question I

06:24don't I am probably well you know what I would give it to I would want it I would

06:30want Michelle Obama to watch it just because I like her and I feel like we've

06:34probably stressed her out over like the past eight years and maybe she could just

06:38use a laugh

06:39nice nice and I love that
