00:00A judge is denying a request from Harvey Weinstein's legal team to delay his
00:04criminal trial in New York. Weinstein's team had asked for a
00:08quote, cooling off period after the disgraced Hollywood mogul was indicted on
00:12new charges in Los Angeles on Monday. Attorney Arthur Idalla argued that it
00:17would be impossible to select a fair and impartial panel of jurors after the
00:21widespread coverage of Weinstein's new indictment, saying it is the talk of the
00:25town at this very moment and asked for a delay in order for the news to die down.
00:29However, on Tuesday morning, Judge James M. Burke immediately denied the motion,
00:34arguing that the new charges are quote, next to meaningless as far as Weinstein's
00:38criminal case in New York is concerned. He noted,
00:40The judge also said he would consider a request to present the jury once selected
00:52with instructions related to the case. Tuesday's court session was
