00:00It looks like Celine Dion is getting the documentary treatment.
00:03Sony Music Entertainment's premium content division in partnership with SME Canada and Vermillion Films
00:09announced the start of production for an untitled feature-length documentary
00:13about the five-time Grammy-winning artist who has sold more than 250 million records over a 40-year career.
00:20The feature-length film, which will tell the French-Canadian singer's life story and career accomplishments,
00:26will be directed by Irene Taylor.
00:28Dion spoke out about the exciting news in a statement which read,
00:31I've always been an open book with my fans, and with her sensitivity and thoughtful creativity,
00:36I think that Irene will be able to show everyone a part of me that they haven't seen before.
00:41I know she'll tell my story in the most honest and heartfelt way.
00:44The global superstar who began recording in her early teens has been called the queen of adult
00:50contemporary and came out with iconic hits such as the Oscar-winning ballad from Titanic, My Heart Will Go On.
00:57Her four-year Las Vegas residency that began in 2003 is the most successful of all time,
01:12having grossed more than $385 million.
01:16Later this year, Dion will return to Vegas with a new show, kicking off with 10 performances in November.
01:22Her Courage World Tour, which was cut short in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic,
01:27will resume across North America and Europe in spring and summer of 2022.
