00:00Jonah Hill is set to play Jerry Garcia in a feature film about the Grateful Dead.
00:04The movie will see Hill once again team up with director Martin Scorsese.
00:08The pair previously worked together on The Wolf of Wall Street.
00:11Both Scorsese and Hill will produce the movie.
00:13The project is set up at Apple where Scorsese has a first look deal
00:16and is currently working on his next feature film, The Killers of the Flower Moon,
00:20starring another Wolf of Wall Street actor, Leonardo DiCaprio.
00:23The Grateful Dead was founded in the Bay Area in the 1960s
00:26as part of San Francisco's counterculture movement.
00:28Garcia acted as the lead guitarist as well as vocalist.
00:32He died in 1995.
00:34Apple has acquired the rights to use The Grateful Dead's music in the film.
00:37It's unclear what part of the band's history will be seen in the movie,
00:40but Scorsese has already been a part of bringing the band's story to the screen,
00:44executive producing the 2017 rock documentary Long Strange Trip.
