00:17With a heavy heart, we have to tell you that 1899 will not be renewed.
00:21We would have loved to finish this incredible journey with a second and third season as we did with Dark.
00:26But sometimes things don't turn out the way you planned.
00:29That's life.
00:30The statement continued,
00:31We know this will disappoint millions of fans out there.
00:34But we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts that you are a part of this wonderful adventure.
00:38We love you.
00:39Never forget.
00:40The eight-episode series debuted on Netflix in November 2022
00:43and centered on the journey of a migrant steamship headed west
00:46that soon takes an unexpected, horrifying turn,
00:50leading the group of passengers to face a mysterious series of events.
