Ram Charan Teja chatted with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet of the 2023 Golden Globes.

00:00How does it feel to be here tonight with the film as a Golden Globe nominee?

00:03I think it's such a surreal moment right now.

00:06I have no words to explain for all the hard work the whole team put it.

00:10And coming from India, south of India, and coming to the land of films, the Mecca of films,

00:16and being appreciated, and, you know, it just gives us more energy to come back and do better films.

00:24And why not? I want the technicians, I would love to work with one of the top directors here.

00:29I want them to experience us, and the world is coming together, the cinema is coming together,

00:35thanks to the pandemic. The downside, yes, there's a lot of downside.

00:38The upside is everybody was exposed to a lot of films across the globe.

00:43The film has gotten such a huge audience reaction.

00:46People have been getting out of their seats and dancing in the aisles.

00:49What has that meant to you?

00:51Well, I mean, you can't ask for anything as an actor when you do such work.

00:55And seeing this reaction, your lack of words sometimes, your heart is filled, you're overwhelmed,

01:04and just gratefulness.

01:06And it just gives us a responsibility to do better.

01:10If you win a Golden Globe, where will you put the trophy?

01:16I'm going to ask my director to leave it in my house for a couple of days,

01:20and probably he won't get it back.

01:23Maybe you just hold on to it for a little bit, you know?

01:26Absolutely. Absolutely. I'll be sleeping with it, for sure.

01:29The film has been receiving so much Oscar buzz, and here we are at the very start of awards season.

01:33How does this feel as you embark on this awards season journey here in the United States?

01:38Golden Globes, it's an iconic year. It's the 80th year.

01:40So, coming back to L.A., where we usually come for holidays, my favorite place.

01:47And coming back here for Golden Globe, I'm here with my wife.

01:50We're all here together. It's a fantastic, surreal moment.

01:53I can't ask. I can't explain too much. It's just so good. So good.
