'Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview – A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph' will see the actor opening up about the painful details of the accident, his hospitalization and his recovery in an hour-long special airing April 6 on ABC.

00:06Jeremy Renner has said his first interview since his terrifying snowplow accident
00:10with an hour-long special with Diane Sawyer detailing the incident and his recovery.
00:16The Marvel star is slated to share details about the accident,
00:19including the critical hours that followed him being pulled under a 14,000-pound snowplow.
00:24In the emotional two-minute trailer for the special titled
00:27Jeremy Renner, the Diane Sawyer interview, a story of terror, survival, and triumph,
00:33Renner is both vulnerable and hopeful while discussing the prospect of returning to stunt work
00:37as part of his career and tearing up as he addresses the impact of the accident on his family.

00:53The Hawkeye star was severely injured on New Year's Day
00:56after being run over by his snowplow,
00:58which he was using to clear snowfall from his property in Nevada
01:01following a storm over New Year's weekend.
01:04Renner was severely hurt while attempting to stop the snowplow
01:07from injuring his nephew who was nearby.
01:10In the special's first look, Renner shares how he not only remembers
01:13the pain of being run over by the snowplow,
01:15but was awake for every moment of the accident.
01:18In the trailer, it's also revealed the multiple injuries the actor sustained
01:22and were treated for, including a broken face, an eye socket,
01:26eight ribs broken in 14 places, as well as a broken right knee,
01:30left tibia, clavicle, right shoulder, and ankles,
01:34along with a punctured lung, among other intense injuries.

01:41When I ran up to him, you know, I didn't think he was alive.
01:43But the interview will also provide a behind-the-scenes look
01:46at his ongoing recovery, which Renner has shared bits of
01:49over the last few months through his social media.
